Okay, I've spent a ton of time researching this and trying different things, but I'm at my wit's end, and need some help from you guys.
Since I bought the RAZR MAXX I have when it first came out, I ran nothing but the stock ROM and upgraded over the months to ICS, then JB, and was quite happy with the phone. Love the desk dock for my night stand, the HDMI options are cool with the different display options, the car dock is super useful to snap in and just go when I'm in the car, etc. Fast forward to now, and my RAZR MAXX has gotten slow and laggy.
I get this great idea to flash a custom ROM. Maybe I'll get some extra speed, be happier, who knows. With my knowledge of old HTC phones, I find a version of ClockworkRecoveryMOD that is supposed to be compatible with the XT912, install it, then attempt to install the current version of the Eclipse ROM. Uh-oh, the ROM didn't flash correctly, and now my phone is bricked!
Not to worry, I have a copy of Matt's RAZR Utility, so I hook that up and flash everything back to the Stock JB. Unfortunately now, I realize something is not right: :crying:
The phone seems to be working fine, except it does not recognize any of the docks I put it in! The phone charges fine, but the dock modes never start! I tried an app from the app store that forces the phone into a dock mode, and that worked, but I can't get the desk dock or the car dock to make the phone do anything but charge. Even when I plug it into a HDMI cable, the image is just mirrored on the screen... no options to change to lapdock mode, or anything of the such.
I've tried clearing caches, factory resets, Matt's RAZR Utility several times, even a RSD Lite image of the 9.8.20-72_VZW-16 file... none of the dock modes work!!! Can anyone out here help me, or offer me some advice? I'm going crazy trying to get this phone back to a fresh out of the box setup so I can get the docks working again!
Thank you in advance for any help anyone can offer...

I flashed to stock 4.1.2... I did not know there was a 4.2.1 release. Are you able to point me in a direction or pass me a link to the 4.2.1 release? I would greatly appreciate that, or any other help everyone on the forums may be able to provide!
Sorry I meant 4.1.2

Well a bit back I rooted my X2 on 2.3.4. Everything works fine and smooth, but I have had the issue of when I use my camcorder, and I go to play the files, they are corrupt and unplayable. Any clue to what is causing this?
Are you on stock 2.3.4 or are you running a ROM?
Just Stock GB.
Hy UbuntuBrandon,
Have you froze or removed any app? If so which one's? That maybe what's
causing the problem.
I'll throw my .02 in. I'm on my third DX2, as I returned the first two because the video absolutely sucked. I've tried ROMs, freezing, unfreezing, rooted, stock. Nothing has seemed to work, however I just installed lgcamcorder a few days ago and have had good luck so far. It has the option to drop the framerate, so I dropped it to 6 Mbit. I've tested with 30 sec, 1 min, and 5 min clips. So far so good.

Well, my karma just kicked in. Just as I hit "reply" my phone rebooted while in lgcamcorder. First time it's done that.
I never froze any apparently, no. But I just installed eclipse and it is working now. Ill never really know why I guess, but problem solved.

*Cleaned up OP. Started collecting too many old links. *
I saw this on the news page and have been following it since then. Google Now finally comes to ICS and should work with any AOSP ROMs.
Latest Development as of 8-6-12: There has been some new developments on this. XDA user cajunflavoredbob has put together a nice write up on explaining everything and new downloads. Check it out here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856
I flashed it right over my ParanoidAndroid ROM and also AOKP and it works great. Should work fine on CM9 as well but I havent tested that. As always, backing up before flashing is a good idea.
VIDEO: XDA member Tomsgt has made a video showing how to install and also a little sample of what it looks on our phone. Check it out here:

I saw this on the news page. I believe CM9 is AOSP based so it should work for us too. I'm in the process of backing up my ROM now before trying it. I'm at work so I may not get around to it right away. But if anyone else wants to try it out, here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749045
EDIT: Ok, I got it working partially. The voice search, for some reason, doesnt work. But manually typing it in does. I dont know if there is a fix for that. I'm in the forum seeing if there are any answers to this. But it does work, somewhat, if anyone wants to try it out.

I will post here when there is voice search fix. Apparently its getting worked on. As it is right now though, its pretty cool. Searching for stuff works just the same and you get the "cards" feature. I never used the Google search box before so I didnt really mind replacing it.
Bump for OP change.
So far I'm not too impressed with how it works in cm9. It's very sluggish for me, I have to touch the screen after searches to get results to "refresh", and it has caused a reboot twice while doing a voice search. I flashed via cm7 recovery, cleared dalvik and cache. Also for some reason I can't get it to add a shorts team to the sports card.

The search results show in google now's built in browser. I dont think you can change that. But any link you select in the results should open in whatever browser you have set as default.

It is still a little buggy/sluggish. But every feature is present in this. You will get notifications and cards and voice search and it will talk back to you. If you don't even use the built in search now, then you have nothing to lose.

ERM...you MIGHT just get better results in a forum actually dedicated to Ubuntu. Usually, those issues occur with older broadcomm WiFi chips, which may be what you have, you should check (Google is your friend). It shouldn't be too hard to fix it, but I silent a week a few years ago trying tofix it just bbecause I wasn't patient enough for it to scan for networks.

You should post your wi-fi card model if you want us to be able to help. Without this info we can't do much except recommand you to check in computer setting > software source > additional driver. I know sometime there is a firmware wich need to be installed from there for some broadcom card. Hope this help you.

I got it as well. I was on stock but with the leaked JB OTA and rooted with OTA Rootkeeper installed. I temporarily disabled root and attempted to apply the update and it wouldn't go. I had forgotten that I had also installed init.d on my phone so that probably hosed up a few other things. Also, would removing Madden 12 and Let's Golf 2 screw things up even though they are NOT system apps and are allowed to be uninstalled?
I then went and used Matt's JB unbrick and put my phone back to "stock" (which is really the leaked JB OTA) without root or anything. Now, I don't get notifications of the update. I've clicked the link in the email to let them know that my update failed and need them to resend the update file, giving them my Motorola forum user id and my phone's MEIN. Haven't heard back for a few hours, so hopefully I'll get another OTA update pushed to my phone. I can't stand sitting around without root and my Nexus 7 is sitting looking sad because it no longer has access to tether to my RAZR MAXX.

Me too, the quality of pictures is unchanged.
So, it turns out we're out of luck. After a ton of research, the only exploit that works to S-OFF works with hboot 1.44, but the GE ships with Android 4.2.2 which has hboot 1.54, which patched the exploit.
We have to wait it out for S-OFF.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen the Tampered flag returned to normal. I've seen counter resets for plenty of devices, but in the few phones I've rooted and modded for friends, I haven't seen a boot loader reset tool that could fix it. Am I living in the past?

You don't get around much do you?
We've had a system dump for a couple of weeks now.
I have the GE as well. It would be nice if we had a separate forum. I have a few things I would like to see if others are seeing as well:
Home and back button light work "inconsistently"
Wifi seems to be inconsistent too (I may have solved this with turning off the "wifi optimization" in the advanced settings
IR definitely does not work. I tried the MacRemote app, which works on the standard HTC One.
Loving the phone so far. It is so nice to finally have AT&T LTE on a stock android(ish) device. For those that will scream that this is not "stock android" I shall call it SKINLESS android.

Yeah, once you have S-Off, you can change the flags, remove them, add ones, etc etc. You can even change and reset it back to 100% completely stock and locked / S-on if desired. I used it on my DNA (same s-off method) then returned it to factory locked before I sold it.

So, it turns out we're out of luck. After a ton of research, the only exploit that works to S-OFF works with hboot 1.44, but the GE ships with Android 4.2.2 which has hboot 1.54, which patched the exploit.
We have to wait it out for S-OFF.

I have S-Off with my one, on Hboot 1.54, but thats because I was originally on 1.44 =)
I was about to post this plea for help and then I decided to try a factory reset and before I could finish signing into google I had an LTE signal.
If you're having connection issues try a factory reset. Mine was cycling between 3 bands along with having no signal at all and never managed a 4G LTE signal, I even went and got another sim card. Incredibly relieved at the moment, the phone is great, no junk, just Android.

Why should the GE have it's own forum? It is the same device as the Sense (obviously with a different ROM/hboot, etc)
