ismooth screen protector - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

http://ismooth.com/collections/scre...galaxy-note-3-hd-ultra-clear-screen-protector
It's sold out already.
Even I am going the route to glass-based screen protector, I have a temporary one applied on Note 3 with Note 2 version. I say it's simply the best plastic-based screen protector.
I used it on Note 2 and I didn't find any visible scratch after 4 months of use. This is pretty impressive.
However, I wish it had oleophobic coating and it would be 100% perfect.

I'm currently using it on my note 3 and love it. Also had it on my note 2 and its currently on my gf's s4.

I had it on my s3 for a year. Thought my screen was still scratched up until I removed it. Best screen non-glass protector out there, but I'm trying to decide on whether to go with glass of my n3.

I used this on my Note 2 and I have it now on my Note 3. I agree that it is one of the best you can get. I actually preferred it to the glass one. But then my only time with the glass one was using the first generation ones from sgp and there were a lot of issues with the them pulling loose.

What the difference with glass

Glass is supposed to be much stronger.

Just throwing this out there. I purchased the glass protector from Siedo for my Galaxy S 3 and don't like it. It is good quality but it definitely has cut down on screen responsiveness. I haven't been able to remove it.....applied with an adhesive that was came with the glass.
In fact, it is making me consider the Note 3 when I wouldn't have before

I am using this. it works perfectly for me.
http://www.wowparts.com/3-x-clear-screen-protector-for-samsung-galaxy-note-3-n9000-n9005-n9002/

I got one recently for my S3 (which my wife is replacing her Thunderbolt with) and liked it. Now I have one for my Note 3. It's a great value for the money and has a nice big cloth and all.
My only complaint is that the cutout near the top leaves the proximity and ambient light sensor unprotected. Some protectors only have cutouts for the speaker and front camera. I like these better. In time I may find a good alternate that is in the later group. If you don't care about this then the Ismooth (despite its unsavory name implications) a very good choice.
Beware though, the fit is really edge to edge. This is unlike S3 protectors which usually had to be a little smaller because of the screen tapering around the edge. This one being edge to edge is very unforgiving during installation in unsteady hands. The 2nd application worked for me but I have only one spare now.

Was looking for this on amazon with no luck..
This was my only screen protector on note 2. Amazing quality
Is there a SPIGEN alternative?

Screen protector for Note 3
Well as per I believe the screen quality of Galaxy Note 3 is much better and we dont need to have any glass protector for it...but still dont want to take any risk of rough scratches and rough finer prints on my Note 3....so just wondering to buy this Kristal Screen protector..as its not much expensive and will also prevent the phone from scratches too...so it would be quite worth of its cost too...but still want the review of someone who might have used it.....

EDIT: I gave the masking tape technique a try and it's fine. No bubbles! I like the feel, but it's a very slight bit "gummy". Hopefully it will smooth out with some use.

OK, I got this in the mail today (yay for Amazon Prime) but when I went to check out the installation videos I get a "This video is private" error from Youtube. Anyone know of an alternate site for the installation videos?
Is there anything special about the installation? I was planning to do the masking tape hinge method...
Thanks,
-Brett.

Basically you have to align first after you have finished screen cleaning (has dust blower ready), you put few tapes on ONE SIDE to help the protector to stay in place.
Blow the excessive dust if you needed.
Remove the bottom layer and install and inspect for any "trapped" dust. If found, peel up with tape and use another tape to remove.
Remove the top layer (if any) when finished.

I really looks like it is on upside down, there is a bevel rounded edge facing the phone. Could be the pictures, and I can't imagine the adhesive side was mistakable.
Im not blind, its on correct side
I just got this and I have a slight issue (top right corner+bottom left corner) is slightly lifted. This isn't huge, or a deal breaker by any means. This is my first glass screen protector and its absolutely beautiful.
Dont like the look of the cut for top part of the phone, should checked this thread out before ordering!
Explosion proof
did your glass-m come with a home button sticker?
just fitted mine and it feels great
are there any glass protectors that cover the whole screen even at the top? (with proper cut outs)
Got mine today, all installed. Do like the Glass feel alot instead of plastic screen protectors.
There is no home button included in my package. I now looking to get another one with better top cutouts

TechMatte screen protector

So I received my TechMatte screen protector today. I installed it a few hours ago. I honestly didn't have high expectations for it. I had forgotten that I had a TechMatte screen protector coming, so installed my Ghost Armor screen protector when it came in on Saturday. When the TechMatte screen protector came today, I placed it over the screen just to get an idea of the coverage that it offered. I was impressed that it was truly edge to edge on top, bottom, and both sides! There literally is no room for error on install, which is a good thing in my opinion! Just use the hinge method to get it on there perfectly. Also, the Home button has a cutout for it specifically. Most screen protectors just have a U shaped cutout at the bottom, and they don't offer any coverage below the Home button. Even Ghost Armor for the Note 3 uses the U shaped cutout, where Ghost Armor for the Note 2 has a specific hole for the Home button. I expected the Home button cutout for the Note 3 to be the same as the Note 2, so I was disappointed to see that they slacked on the Note 3 Home button cutout. So earlier I peeled off my Ghost Armor screen protector and lined up the TechMatte screen protector to do the hinge method. TechMatte even includes 5 tape strips in the package that are labeled for using with the hinge method, very nice touch on there part! I used the included cloth to wipe my screen clean of any dust and/or fingerprints. The cloth they include is larger than any cloth I've received with any other brand screen protector too! So I layed the screen protector on the screen and pushed out any bubbles. There was surprisingly very few bubbles on the screen, and the ones that were there were very easy to push out. I get it on and it's lined up perfectly. After peeling off the last film from the top of the screen protector I get my first feel of the actual screen protector itself. I am truly amazed by how it feels! It feels just like the bare screen! Looks wise, unless you're really REALLY looking for it then you would never know there's a screen protector on it! An hour or so later I handed my phone to a couple friends an told them to check out my new screen protector. They didn't believe me at first! Lol. I had to point it out to them for them to believe me! They both said it feels just like glass and is perfectly clear and not even noticeable! Now I've been using touch screen phones for many MANY years, since the early Windows Mobile days. I've always had screen protectors on every phone I've owned. This screen protector is by FAR the very best I've ever used or seen! I've been a fan of Ghost Armor for quite some time, and always recommend them to everyone. Hard for me to believe, but that time has come to an end! TechMatte is hands down my new favorite! I'll be recommending them to all of my friends, and using them on all of my devices from now on! I took some pics with my Evo LTE, because it takes better photos than my Note 2. I'll post pics in the second post with it, so please no one comment until I get on my Evo LTE and put up some pics. It's hard to even see the TechMatte screen protector, but I'll try to get some closeups of the Home button and the top of the phone.

This isn't just for 1 screen protector either, you get 3 with this!! Better jump on this deal while they are on sale!! I'm not sure how long the sale will last, so you shouldn't wait long, if at all!

Cool thanks. Just picked up 2 packs. I have been using the SPIGEN protectors but twice now ordering from them the packages have been damaged and they refuse to replace them. Took it up with AMAZON customer service.
Hopefully these work well. Can't go wrong for the price.
Thanks OP for the review.
TechMatte screen protectors
I received my TechMatte screen protectors in the mail yesterday for my Note 3 and Nexus 7 2013. I had never heard of TechMatte or their products before so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Upon inspecting the packaging I became worried as the image of the SP showed that it did not have a cutout for the home button but rather an upside down U-shape that starts above the home button and leaves it open below. However upon opening the packaging and inspecting the screen protectors they do indeed have a cutout for the home button that fully surrounds it and thus provides coverage for the entire bottom region of the device.
Included in the package were 3 SPs, an anti-lint/dust microfiber cloth, a sheet of tape strips to perform the hinge method for install, a squegee card to remove bubbles, and installation instructions. Installation was very straightforward being that it is a dry install. The fitment is fantastic. Other than the speaker grill and sensors it FULLY covers the front of the device edge to edge with almost no gap. Clarity is excellent and so is the "feel". I have no sensitivity loss with my fingers nor with the S-Pen. I attempted to press on the protector fairly hard with the S-Pen and also tried to make indentions into the film with my finger nails and was unable to do so.
At the current asking price of $4.50 for the kit with 3 SPs on Amazon I would not hesitate to recommend these SPs to anyone and would probably say that these may be the best bang for your buck screen protectors you can get right now. :good:

Yea, I'd never heard of them before either, so I also wasn't expecting much. I must say though, I was pleasantly surprised! They also sent me a screen protector for my N7 FHD as well, as they saw in my sig that I had one. Have you installed yours yet? If you haven't yet, definitely use the hinge method! There is no room for error on install, as this screen protector really covers from every edge to edge!!
For those looking, definitely jump on that Amazon deal!! This morning I forgot that I even had a screen protector installed!! It truly is an incredible looking screen protector, because there is nothing to look at or see!!! Lol. I'm still in amazement over it! Like I said in the OP, I've been using screen protectors for a long time and this one is definitely the best!! There really isn't any competition to these!
The only negative, which is really a positive in my opinion, is that you must install it perfectly. I've said it before, but there really is no room for error as this screen protector covers everything!! You do get 3 in the package, so if you mess up on the first install you have 2 more tries. I got mine right on the first try, so as long as you're really careful then you can as well. I highly recommend using the hinge method though!! If you aren't sure what that is then watch some YouTube videos on how to do it and you'll be set!

Yeah I installed them both last night. The Nexus 7s protector was more forgiving in it's fitment than the Note 3s IMO. The N3s SP was almost exact to the size of the screen inside the chrome bezel while the N7s left a little more room for play but since you gotta line up the camera and sensors into the small opening it made lining it up a little easier.
Link added to OP. I'll post it here also. 3 for less than $5!!!!

So after a few days of use I'm just as happy as was the first day! Still looks perfect and swapping cases repeatedly hasn't bothered the edges of the screen protector! Still highly recommend these! You WILL be satisfied!!

My Review
I have to agree with the OP. A great product with great screen coverage and feel. I received mine from techMatte a couple weeks ago:
Full Disclosure: TechMatte provided me a free sample to test
I am not normally a big fan of screen protectors for my phones. Mainly because it's just a hassle to put on and the screen just doesn't feel right as compared to the naked screen (and I can never get them lined up right).
CONTENTS: The pack I received had 3 screens along with a microfiber cloth, plastic card to squeeze out any bubbles, an installation manual, and hinge stickers (for installation).
INSTALLATION: Installation was very easy and it's a dry install. I'm a perfectionist (which is why I don't normally like putting on screen protectors) and the supplied stickers for the hinge method of installation (which was outlined in the installation manual) helped me actually get it lined up perfectly on my first try!
LOOK: Once installed it was perfectly clear. No discoloration that I could discern. There were three bubbles that I wasn't able to squeeze out immediately specifically because I missed really small pieces of lint. I was a little frustrated at first because I had thought I'd done well keeping it clean (note, I would have been better served installing in a more well lit room...I'm sure I missed them because I didn't have good lighting while installing)...but, they were really small so I figured I'd give it a little time.
I'm pleased, and surprised, to say that after a couple days those last few bubbles actually went away leaving a nice, clean, clear surface.
FEEL: As far as feel, a big question I had going into it was how would the screen feel under finger and, more importantly, under the stylus. I have a friend who has screen protector where it's very rubbery and every time he uses the stylus on his Note 2 there are grooves left behind. I can confidently say that this screen protector does not have that problem at all.
I also want to call out that the screen protector does not have an affect on the sensitivity of the screen either with your finger or with the stylus.
Under finger if I dig my nail in a bit, I can feel that it's a bit rubbery but just normal use it's smooth without any noticeable drag. It does feel slightly different from a naked screen, but it's still pleasant and not distracting at all (and I feel that I'm picky on feel).
As for the stylus, I was surprised again here. Right after it was installed there was a little bit of drag when I used the stylus but that quickly went away as I continued to use it. If your extremely picky (or if you have a heavy hand) you might notice a bit of a difference but I don't.
OVERALL: I'm absolutely sold on this screen protector and would recommend it to protect your screen. Installation was easy with the included supplies, the protector is very clear and, unless you know what you're looking for, unnoticeable once on (provided there aren't any bubbles), it doesn't alter the feel of the screen much, and doesn't affect the sensitivity at all either with your finger or stylus.
The only caution I would throw out is to be careful when installing to avoid any lint under the film. If you've done these kind of protectors before then you probably already know this.
I am currently using spigen crystal clear sp which are very good but a total fingerprint magnet. How are these sp with fingerprints?

It think it attracts a bit more than the naked screen (which is surprisingly resistant to fingerprints) , but it doesn't seem too bad to me. But...I don't have a lot of experience with different screen protectors. I can say it's better about fingerprints than the naked Nexus 4 and naked Note 1.

I have this screen protector, and I havent taken it off to try any of the others I have. It's THAT good. Once you line it up against the fat bottom, just lay it down.
Had some dust, lifted it up and used tape on the screen protector, and put it back down. Now I have ZERO bubbles and it's fantastic. 100000% clarity too. 5 stars.

[Q] Screen Protectors for Xperia Z Ultra

I am looking to find the most high quality option when it comes to screen protectors for the Ultra.
I have tried the Muvit protector - but it isn't the best quality I've seen - and it got a little scratch in the application process.
I was wondering if anyone has tried the Stealth Extreme R from Armorz without having first taken off the shatter proof film?
Wondering how it fits on the device, how it affects the weight - and generally how high quality the protector actually is and if it is worth the extra $50.
I am not interested in trying to remove the shatter proof film after reading people's experiences.
Not sure if it'll help you, but there are quite a number of "reviews" on it on Youtube.

I have the Armorz Stealth Extreme R tempered glass protector. Its actually pretty good quality. If you have never put on a glass screen protector before, it might be a little tricky. I put mine on without water, and paid the price when trying to reposition it. the bottom corner is lifted from when i tried to pry it up and move it. I did apply a back glass using the water method, and it took longer to get the bubbles completely out, but came out pretty clean.
I did not remove the anti shatter film on either side, and have not seen any loss in touch sensitivity.
one thing i did notice is that, it added a little bit of weight, but also gave the phone better rigidity when used without the case. some people have mentioned the phone twisting in their pocket, and i have yet to experience any twisting whats so ever.
not sure if the price has gone up, but i ordered mine for 39$ on amazon. hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the insight!
So why do you think doing it dry caused a problem? Is the adhesive very strong? I figured it would just pull right off.
Do you have any bubbles or blemishes on the front?

it's a silicone based adhesive. peels off fairly easy but keeps a strong bond. when I pryed the corner up, I pushed part of the adhesive so it clumped up and now won't lay flat. if you spray it down with water, you'll be able to slide it into place with out having to lift.
it looks like a large are in the picture but it really isn't noticeable. the backside went on with water without any issues. sucks that the back glass cost me 13$ and the front cost me 3 times that much only to have that messed up corner. you live and you learn. Lol

... Is that crap made out of Gorilla glass? Good god, that's a screen protector. None of this "Clear film" BS where if there's an Airbubble you just ruined a purchase, oh no, this is quite literally just another screen slapped on top.
What does it do to the thickness of the thing? My concern mainly is with cases like Sony's Battery case that kind of only work with just exactly how thick it is.
Not sure if it's really gorilla glass but no scratches so far from things that would scratch plastic protectors. It is pretty thin I can't say for the case but its under 1mm thick.
Does anyone know this?

Not sure if it's been discussed here before but I just applied the most amazing screen protector I've ever use on any phone. It's called ILLumiShield and they sell it on Amazon and eBay for a reasonable price and is absolutely fantastic it's so easy to put on bubble free, feels like glass even over the the crap protector Sony puts on. I sometimes get unwanted behavior... Like two fingers tap even if I use only one... Or tap without reaction... Or tap evean I did not do it, self-tap... It happens once a day, maybe two, but it is very annoing... Without scr.prot. it works perfect. I thing I would follow by your adwice, only need your opinion about that not-funny behaviors. Thx

I found this issue to be greatly improved with the iLLumiShield screen protector. But it was definitely more of an issue with the cheaper screen protectors. You also might want to go to settings/sounds and uncheck vibrate on touch. I feel like this improve my touch sensitivity.

Turned off vibrate on touch and it seems a bit more more responsive in some areas, even though it probably is placebo. I have an iShieldz screen protector (similar to Zagg) and noticed that it wouldn't respond when I tap the screen sometimes. Though, I think that's the way I tap the screen, edge of finger vs finger.

Ok. Thanks for answer. One more: I see there are 3 different ILLumiShields: matte, cristal clear and blue light. Which one you recomend? Or which one you have and recomend?

Regarding Illumishield, is it just me or does it sound fishy to anyone else? Lifetime-Guarantee, but they send you 2-3 in a single package?!

I have the glass-M galss screen protector. It's almost $40 with shipping but it's front and back glass. Its very well made, easy to apply and is more fingerprint resistant than the unprotected glass with it's ASF.

Thanks for the tip. Just bought one. Been wanting a protection like that for my phone ever since removing the factory protector. The phone is a fingerprint magnet without the ASF. However found it for $16 and free shipping to Sweden (only front protection though, don't need it for the back).

I applied Glass-M screen protectors on both the front and back of my phone yesterday, and have been very happy with it so far. It's added a little weight, but it feels sturdier and more premium than before, and looks better than the plastic screen protector I had previously. The touch is also a lot smoother than the plastic one, which was a bit rubbery. I installed mine on top of the ASF, both front and back, since I didn't want the "harrowing" experience of removing it. I feel like it's protected well enough to do without a case, though I may get a slim one to cover the edges of the phone as well. Highly recommended. :good:
GlassM is horrible??
Firstly look at these awful photos I've taken:
First go to Dropbox.com, following site:

add the following lines for the photos right afterwards:

Can someone link these sites directly? Would be nice, thanks in advance. Email: [email protected]
I will send you the links to the images!!
Received my GlassM this week, applied it yesterday. For whatever the reason, there is now, after 12 hours of use, a 10cm large, deep scratch (no, it's not dust, polished few times). Over the first night, the screen got the crack though. This morning I've noticed the deep scratch.
Yesterday evening, just sliding over my wooden table, impressed of its smooth, I notived two smaller light scratches. I thought so, "ok thats not really your truth, GlassM", but now it's really enough.
GlassM's support does not reply to my support request unfortunately.
Can someone recommend other Glass-protectors for my beloved ZU?
Greetings,

Love the feel of the note 3 but think I should protect it

Got my note 3 a few days ago and I'm loving it. I love the feel, the leather back, the slimness. It's great. But I feel I should be protecting it somehow.
I went for an official S View case but it turns out it's not official and i'm not sure I want to spend £50 on a case that doesn't offer full protection.
I've had a browse but can't seem to find one that would not effect the profile of the phone. Does anyone have any suggestions
Thanks.

Dunno about slim cases (I have a UAG), but I'd definitely recommend a tempered glass screen protector. Especially if you were interested in getting the authentic S-view case.
I bought an $8 eBay protector recommended in the tempered glass screen protector thread and have been very happy with it. Cheap way to keep your screen scratch free.
The problem I've found with screen protectors is that I can't apply them for them life of me. They always bubble or get fluff stuck under them.

Try the tempered glass protectors. I used the MIME Ghost Glass for my S4 and i just got one for my Note 3. It just got here like 30 min ago. IF you get one, you don't have to worry about bubbles, they come out on their own in like an hour or 2. Just apply it in a bathroom after running the shower with hot water to get a touch (NOT a lot) of steam in the air. That pulls all the dust particles out of the air as you apply it.
As for the cases, I agree. I like the feel of the Note 3 naked. I also got a case that makes it actually feel more slippery. I love the case as i had the same for my S4 but it is more slippery. I picked up the Spigen Slim Armor case in the metal color.
I have a bumper case, just the frame around the phone. My phone already fell out from the pocket of my pants, when I was changing (frankly I thought I had the phone in my jacket, otherwise would be more careful) onto the wooden floor from about 4 feet and I think I would have already some type of damage, if it wasn't for the bumper case. I like my phone very much, therefore having it in pristine condition is more important than anything else.
Something like this:

Caseology, Spigen, and UAG are the only way to go for cases.

I'm thinking of going for something like this (White View version):
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spigen-Prot...9600&sr=8-15&keywords=Case+for+Samsung+Note+3
It's a little more than I want to spend on a case but it looks pretty good.

This is going to sound odd, but in order to get a flawless application of your screen protector . . . do it in the bathroom. I always run the shower as hot as it gets for a few minutes prior to trying to apply the screen protector to let the steam pull most of the dust particles out of the air. I also line up the screen protector prior to removing the backing and tape one side so that it functions like a hinge. This way once the backing is removed you do not have to worry about lining up the protector and it basically applies itself from the taped side.

Question might be lame but just to make sure - Can tempered glass be removed if needed or once is applied/glued thats it ?
It will just lift up. No residue left really. Think of it as more sticky and does not bond like a glue. Until you crank one and have to remove it... It's kinda hard to describe. But it comes up as easy as it is to put down
Ordered it. Should be here soon. Do I still need a screen protector with it do you think?

just want to ask something about tempered screen protector. i just bought the spigen glass tr screen protector and had applied it successfully on my note 3 just having one little lint underneath but i dont care too much about it as it cant be seen when the screen is on. but i want to ask is tempered glass has any side effect to my screen ? such as reduce the screen sensitivity as i heard from someone that using tempered glass has negative effect. is it true ?
I haven't noticed any sensitivity issues. To be fair, I put the protector on only a few days after I purchased the phone, but I honestly never noticed any ill effects after installation.
On my S4 or this phone I've never had sensitivity issue with either phone. The Spen works flawlessly with THE MIME Ghost Glass (is only 32mm thick as to Spigens tr glass which is .40mm thick)
Well my case turned up and I love it. Such a well made product.
It makes my phone look kind of Storm Trooper like. I wonder if I can get a vinyl for the front.

Spigen does make a good case. Just wish they made all of them like they do for the iPhone 5.

[REVIEW] Nillkin 9H Tempered Glass Screen Protector

I hate the drag feeling of many plastic screen protectors so I have had a naked screen on all my phones until now! This is my first glass screen protector and so far it has been excellent.
It was very easy to apply. I was impressed with how it seemed almost to "adhere itself" when you place it upon the screen. Almost free of any air bubbles, creases, etc.
Cleaned the screen with the supplied wipes, dropped the protector on, and pushed the imperfections out with my fingers and it came out great.
It comes with badly translated instructions but you are given more than enough tools to get the job done right.
Sorry I don't have any pictures of it on the phone, I can add some, if anyone wants that.
I think it's well worth the price!
Here is where it can be bought on Amazon:

I love this screen protector. The price is very cheap for the quality of the product. I got mine here

very easy to remove and leaves no residue of any type or damage.
Can you post a photo of note with the protector?
After having this for about 3 months now, I can easily say this is absolutely the best bang for your buck. My brother went with the cheaper 8 dollar eBay one and its kicking himself for not getting this instead. Installation is easy and allows room for error (can be removed and re-applied), smooth to the touch (necessary for swipe texting) and is still smooth 3 months later.

It is a good purchase pricewise. But after 3 months of use, tiny scratches are appearing on the protector. I wouldn't be mumling about it, but most of the time I use the pouch case when I cary the phone in the pocket. So scratches were a surprise for me. Therefore the claimed 9H of the glass is a bit doubtful.
I almost sprung for this myself until I saw a friend of mine who got this Nillkin on his phone and the leftmost bottom edge would not stick perfectly. You could fit a fingernail underneath it. Seems like the luck of the draw.
I had mine installed at a kiosk just to make sure that if any problem materialized, they could replace it themselves immediately. I forgot the brand, but the fit was perfect.

Bought a Nillkin Tempered GLass for my Note 3. Guess what.....after a month, the screen cracked by itself! I'm very sure it was not caused by wrong handling nor impact. All this 9H hype by Nillkin is just bull!

And why is your brother kicking himself? I have the cheapo ebay one and I have zero complaints. My first protector was a $20-something (shipped) Glass-M which simply broke in my pocket because I leaned somewhere too hard (xperia z1). I am very happy with my $7 ebay deal for my new note 3.
I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just curious.
Also, sorry for slight off topic.

Just an expression lol, but mainly because it is much less smooth and the non rounded corners bug him. I'm sure there are better ones in eBay, but it's luck of the draw. Images weren't correct in his case.
