Cheap Android devices and their quality - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I want to make this thread to discuss about cheap Android smartphones and tablets, pointing that I have a cheap tablet. I got it like a month ago, I kept in the best condition, until I once by mistake hit it against some metal(I had it in a plastic bag) and like, after a couple of days I noticed it had been SCRATCHED! Even when my smartphone CRASHED down onto the ground and the battery pack(together with the battery) I looked at it and there was no scratch AT ALL! Tell me what you think about the situation and keep this thread going(I don't want to get banned off XDA).

Well like in many other cases, "you get what you pay for" In this case, alot of electronics if not most, are made in china so you really have to be careful with low cost devices because while the insides might be the same or very similar as premium devices, they have to make up for the reduced price tag somewhere.

unusual viewing angle

I just bought the gtab from office depot and while I love it the viewing angle is really bad. If I flip it upside down (buttons on the left) the viewing angle is wayyyy better but then I can't watch videos because they are upside down.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Yes, it does. They charge you 15% restocking fee if the item is an open box.
Someone on here, who claimed to be working for depot, once suggested that you can exchange the item claiming it to be defective, then don't open the one you exchanged it for and go to another depot to return for a full refund. I've never tried this, but I guess it's an alternative if you have no problem with doing something like this.
Regardless, please read up on an expensive gadget like the gtab before you decide to buy it next time.
The gtab is really not for the faint of heart.

Here is OD return policy right from their website:
Technology & Furniture - 14 Day Return Policy:
Your Original Receipt is required for all returns or exchanges of technology and furniture.
Technology products may be returned or exchanged within 14 days of purchase with Original Receipt, in original packaging and with UPC code intact. If product box is opened, we will offer an exchange only. A 15% Restocking Fee will be applied if box is missing any components. This applies to all technology products including, without limitation: Computers, Monitors, Cameras, Camcorders, Projectors, GPS, Printers, Copiers, Faxes, Shredders, Telephones, Wireless Technology, MP3s, TVs, DVD Players, Media, Hard Drives, Peripherals, Accessories and Software. Opened software may be exchanged for the same item only. Please remove all personal data from returned/exchanged product. Office Depot is not responsible for any personal data left in or on a returned/exchanged product. Furniture in new condition, unassembled, in original packaging, with Original Receipt and with UPC code intact may be returned within 14 days of purchase

That said, the T&C seems contradicting, restocking fees implies refund, missing accessories implies open box, yet the statement before it clearly says "no refunds for open boxed items" but the first sentence enumerates the conditions for return/exchange which doesn't say "unopened box"

Yes, because there are no Android tablets that have great screens Return it and fork out an extra $100 for a Transformer, if you can find one (and you will be able to soon). Don't bother trying to sell the gTab -- it's rare to find something that loses so much of its value the moment you hit "Submit" on the order screen.
Regardless, please read up on an expensive gadget like the gtab before you decide to buy it next time.

Seriously, when I purchased mine, I read every review under the son, and even the positive ones pointed out the less than spectacular viewing angles. I bought it anyway becuase I figured it was something I can live with, and it is.
No one pointed out that setting that allows the grab to rotate 180 degrees?

I think we're making more drama than is really necessary here, it's not that bad, I happen to love mine. I did not want to spend 500 bucks+ for something I can't expand the memory on, or be able to customize like I want to. Is it for everybody? No, but I think it's pretty darn good. You can always try the Transformer I guess when it's back in stock, otherwise you're looking at spending several more Benjamin's.

Well, I think all the complainers are drama queens as well. But since they are drama queens, I feel it is my obligation to send them to apple and let apple take care of them.
I recommend apple product to most people who ask me about gadgets and computers for this very reason. The gtab is .3 lb heavier than the ipad, which most people can't even feel the difference. And yet, in the past few months ever since the gtab came out there's been a kazillion people crying bloody murder about the million ton weight of the gtab compared to the ipad.
I feel it is abundantly clear by now that the gtab has bad viewing angles. The only thing we can do when someone asks about how to fix the screen is to direct them to the ipad.
So, in short, I am making a big deal out of this because drama queens want to make a big deal out of it. Apple ipad really is the way to go.

Not for me, too expensive, too closed and non-expandable memory. I have 32 Gigs in my gTablet now, I would have had to pay $600 to get that from Apple, and I just don't have that kind of money. I'm sure it is better in some things, but for 300 dollars less I can live with the differences, and I am loving what I have, that's all that's important in the end.

But californiarailroader, the gtab is .3 lb heavier than the ipad, which equates to 30 pounds in drama queen language. You're not going to be able to live with a 30 pound difference are you?
Personally, I love my gtab. I've already incorporated it into my daily work and entertainment. I use it to read the news every morning when I ride on the train to the city. I read pdf documents with it. Check email. It basically does everything I intended it to do for me. That said, I don't recommend the gtab to anyone. Like I said, let apple deal with the whiners. I only want to help those who genuinely want to explore this neck of the woods.

I believe he's being sarcastic, yet realistic.
Basically his thinking (if I may) is that if somebody complains about the weight, tell them to get an iPad...if they complain about the screen, get an iPad. If they complain about lack of iApps, get an iPad.
I've used my stepfathers iPad, I complained about the lack of customization, lack of memory upgrade, lack of USB imput, and lack of "not being an Apple product." Therefore, I got a Gtablet.
essentially, if anyone gets a G-tablet, or ANY OTHER Android tablet and complains that it's not an iPad, then our only advice would have to be, GET AN iPAD!!!

He was complaining about the bad screen, not about Android. There are people who claim the screen is good, and some who say it's terrible, so I don't really blame him for taking a leap of faith to see for himself. He's found it unacceptable, so he should return it and get an Android tablet with a better screen, of which there a few out now, and several coming in the next few months.

Thank you!
Since the ipad was the first mainstream tablet to hit the market, it is inevitable for people to compare everything else to it. That said, whenever people want to compare the gtab to an ipad, I advice them to get an ipad. Again, if they want to complain about the .3 lb heavier weight, then I advice them to get the ipad. If they complain about the screen, which there should already be a billion reviews telling them about the screen by now, the I direct them to the ipad.
There was a review I read long ago in which the reviewer complained about the black space around the screen. Ironic how after he complained about the black space around the screen he went ahead and praise the ipad, nevermind that the ipad has an even larger black area around the screen.

Look, there's been a billion reviews online telling everyone about the bad viewing angles on the gtab. If after that he manages to complain about the bad viewing angles, then I can guarantee you that he will find something else to complain about no matter what tablet he gets. Just direct them to the ipad and let them be apple's problem.
Long ago, I used to work as a cop. You know what different departments do when they find a 10-96 (aka mental subject)? They find an excuse to drive them to the next town over and drop them off there. I was a cop at a Chicago area suburb and we had to deal with Chicago cops dropping their mental subjects in our town almost on a daily basis. While it was annoying, I have to admit that this was really the most efficient way for the Chicago cops to deal with their mental subjects.
What I am proposing is we use this same strategy in our case. We direct all the whiners to apple and let it be their problem. Problem solved.
I will accept all whiners into the fold if it means HC gets a bigger market share
I dropped the gtab because the screen gave me headaches yet I have a transformer on backorder right now. I also am recommending the iPad for most people so I have less wasted time explaining what "root" of the sdcard is so they can install cwm
Once I rooted and put the VEGAn GingerEdition on this bad boy, the screen has seem to have gotten "better". Maybe it's because I actually have market, I can watch flash videos without stutter, apps don't force close every time I try to run them, or any number of other problems I encountered on the stock software.
Honestly, I'm starting to get used to the screen. Plus, I might take a whirl at making a ROM or theming for the gtab

This worries me... anyone have this problem?

I was watching reviews and stuff on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on youtube and came across this video:

He appears to get a lot of e-hate but the issue he's talkin about concerns me. I don't have a retailer's refund policy to fall back on since I bought it brand new and sealed on craigslist so I have Samsung's warranty. If this is a prominent problem, I want to just go with the Xoom and get rid of the Tablet 10.1.
Anyone know anything about this? Is this common?
I tried to do a search and only found 2 threads on sleep and wake issues but I really didn't know what keywords to type for this phenomenon. Is it "bricking issue"? lol
Personally, I will never EVER buy another Samsung product again. I got burned too many times on their products, and their after sales support is a frigging joke. Or at least in my country it is. First was my dual sim phone of theirs that was so buggy that I opted to stick to one sim instead (here in the Philippines, it's a whole lot more economical to have two Sims at least because each carrier has an unlimited call and text plan to the same network). Then my Samsung external HDD drive died in less than 6 months that I purchased it, taking all of my photos with it (I do professional photography on the side), and now my LCD TV went kaput. In all cases, their service center didn't do squat. On the phone, they kept saying that they cannot do anything about it other than recommend that I buy the higher model. On the second, they don't recover data, and I have to go to their main office to get a replacement. That's a problem for me because I have a day job and their main office is far from where I work. But the LCD took the cake for me. They just told me this morning that my LCD model is already phased out and that they cannot repair it. I bought the LCD in 2007. Imagine how often they release LCD models, and thus how often they phase out products.
That's 3 different products from Samsung. I doubt that they'll have a different approach on smartphones and tablets. Sell your Galaxy tab. There are a whole lot more better tablets out there.

Hm, that sucks to hear. How long is your LCD warranty? If you bought it in 2007, it's been 4 years. They refused to fix it despite it being under warranty still?
I'm reading about these issues and I don't really know how big of a problem it is or how widespread. It's been the Galaxy Tab or the Xoom at this point.

That's probably it. I had a small issue with my tablet, I could not register it online... so the lady did it for me over the phone. That is because they were missing my batch model on their list, apparently it was too new. Next day, I had someone calling me back to make sure I was satisfied. Definitely not your scenario... and frankly, you are dealing with electronics. They BREAK. Is not your mom's old fridge that is running for over 40 years flawless, those times are long gone. You cannot rely on an external disk to backup important photos the same way you cannot expect to have a TV under warranty after 4 years... If you want a TV that works for 20 years, go get one of those cathodic tubes and they will last 20 yers, while they give your eyes cancer, heh.
Obviously, no disrespect intended to you. I made it a little more ironic so you see the depth.

Is that supposed to make me BETTER?? Seriously though, you're right. No need to obsess. I just don't want it to happen to my tablet cause that would suck.
Well, if it happens while in warranty, is fine. I don't know about you, but myself... when I get a new gadget I carry it like it is made of gold. You should see me rubbing my tablet screen every few hours with a microfiber cloth, heh. After a while, I really don't care anymore... and in fact, if it breaks there is a valid reason for me to buy newer technology.
I just don't think is worth to spend the time and chase every little imaginary issue, instead of enjoying your new gadget.
I have had none of the problems described in that video. The only wakeup problems I've had were my own doing (kernel hacking...)
Similarly, I have never had any problems with Newton rings on my device.
To the guy whining because he had a Samsung hard drive fail:
1) You are clearly not truly a professional photographer if you had irreplacable files on a single hard drive without backups. I'm not even professional (high-grade amateur) and I keep my important stuff backed up to multiple locations. Professionals keep backups AND they RAID their primary storage device, end of story. (Note: RAID alone is not sufficient, while it protects against hard drive failures it doesn't protect you against malware or filesystem corruption due to the computer itself going bonkers.)
2) There is no guaranteed fail-safe hard drive manufacturer - they ALL have a chance of failing. The only time I've seen a manufacturer put out a truly defective series of hard drives in terms of mechanical reliability was the IBM Deathstar series. Key point to remember: Prior to the Deathstar, IBM's drives were regarded as the most reliable drives money could buy.
Edit: I have owned HTC devices in the past, and currently own a Samsung smartphone (Infuse 4G) and one tablet (Tab 10.1) - The Samsung displays are clearly superior, and build quality of the Infuse is on par with the Tilt2 it replaced and higher than the HTC Tilt that the Tilt2 replaced.
Ya, same here Entropy... no issues what so ever, I own a perfect tablet.
And I totally agree with you when you say the Samsung hardware has a very high quality level.
Both my Galaxy Tab and S2 are great devices, in every aspect.

Anyone feel like the S2 will not be as unique anymore in months to come?

Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone feels sort of the same way as me.
I spent around $650 USD and waited 3 months (from when the official international UK version was released) to purchase the S2 from overseas. Now the phone is going to become released in the U.S.
A part of me feels sort of disappointed and excited, yet I should be very happy now that it is available here (finally!!!). I guess I just wanted a phone where it wasn't too popular in the states. A part of spending a large amount of money (with no binding contract to a carrier) gave me a sense of uniqueness in that I was "one of few" to actually have this phone. Also, the forums here are quite valuable with so many users that I feel like I am part of a special S2 community...but with the announcement of this phone in the U.S., it seems like everyone "else" (yes, all the "other" people... you name it, they've got it) would eventually have it. I guess you can't help but wonder how special your phone is, heh.
I suppose I like to have electronic devices that is rare. Thus, when someone sees you off the street holding a S2, their impression would be like "Woah. That is cool. What is that?" But I guess in a few months, people would be more like "Is that the S2? Here's mine, too. And all my friends have it!"
Anyone feel the same way, heh?
Cool story bro.
Sent from my Kyocera Echo.
Not much in a way, people still keep thinking it's an iPhone which makes me giggle lol. You still have the uniqueness factor since the phone looks physically different from the variants.
I'm pretty much like that too, I usually had the odd phone that nobody even knew the name. I always tell my friends about how iPhone is like a DVD player, everyone has one and knows how to operate it and I was thinking in the same line about the SGS2 since you can buy it off the cell company. This wasn't like that last year, you couldn't even find any android phones, we have a huge blackberry market and quickly diving. But the SGS2 is an android phone, that means you can have any UI, on iPhone you have iOS and works the way apple wants it to work and that's it, with the SGS2 it'll be different, you have TouchWiz as a default interface, and you can also have ADW, LauncherPro etc, you can even have MIUI on it, then it comes the millions of roms that we have and will have more coming as soon as SGS2 starts selling in the US. Now think about the people that are square headed that don't even know what ROOT is and don't even care about it, if they try to use your phone and you don't have TouchWiz it will be like a windows fan using linux, he/she will know is the same phone but won't be able to use it as easy as theirs. And you have widgets and all the customization on the different launchers.
I know what you're going tru lol
So to sum up, you chose a phone because you wanted to stroke your own ego with your "sense of uniqueness" and impress your "friends", and are now disappointed because other people will spoil your unique user experience by having the temerity to get a similar device.
Poor little thing. Just wait until the next Shiny New Thing, buy it, bask in your own smugness and find another forum to tell people how special you are.
I spent 750 with first original stock and it was worth every penny. The only thing that got my attention is the Samsung Note.
This device will easily last 2 years for the casual person and another 6-12 months with the tech geek.
Last I read over 3 million GS2 had been sold in Europe alone so I can imagine at least a couple hundred thousand were sold in USA despite not being on general sale there that's not to say people didn't buy them online and not taking into account the many more sold throughout the rest of the world so hardly a unique phone for the privileged few this phone has been Samsung's biggest selling handset to date and with good reason!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Of course the phone will become more popular as it gets released in more places. That's progress. Accept it.
Samsung have a winning phone on their hands; they'd be utterly stupid to not try selling it in every country in the world.
If you want something new, go and buy the Samsung Galaxy S 3 whenever it's released. (but accept that other people are going to buy it too)
SII already achieved a great level of admiration as after 3 months of release it's still the most wanted and popular phone people wanna hold. I believe it will have a record sales figure worldwide.
But OP- Poor thinking, shame on you.

But hey, it's suckers like OP that I find easy to make money from.
I know how you feel. Its just a nice experience when you own a device that others have never even seen. I owned a Microsoft zune a few years back which wasn't released here in the uk. When I showed it to iPod user's they just said "wow is that a new iPod?" Although the galaxy s2 is wildly available in the UK there are still alot of people that don't know what they are, especially iPhone users. I've already been asked if it was an iphone5. I replied no its much better than one of those old iPhones. I'm then quickly followed by a confused look and a sharp reply of "iPhones are the best though aren't they?" So funny.

With all do respect, I absolutely love this phone. I just felt as with an increased presence in the States, it could potentially turn to something along the lines of an iPhone, whereby almost every user wants/or already has it. It's one of the things I dislike about Apple products is because of the all-too familiarity around here. Pretty much everywhere I go, I would see someone carrying an iPhone. Makes you feel slightly less exclusive. However, if it's a good product, then obviously everyone is going to get it.

Makes you feel slightly less exclusive. However, if it's a good product, then obviously everyone is going to get it.

I don't see how it's a bad thing if the SGSII (or any other Android phone for that matter) becomes more popular. A larger install base means the platform is more attractive for app developers, and it's the quality and quantity of these quality apps that make or break a platform. This is just my opinion, but I feel that in this area, Android still has to catch up with iOS. I can't help but feel that I had access to a greater variety of good apps when I was on my iPhone 3GS.

I think there is only one option left for you and it ain't a good one.
To be unique, buy a phone that doesn't sell well, meaning an ugly underpowered , crashing and medicore phone. Thats how you will be unique.
Thats the price you pay for wanting a top selling and great phone. In the end everybody wants a phone that is on top of the line.
Learn to live with it that you are not alone when you buy these phones.
When i see around me people with GS II then i know i probably made a good decision.
If i bought a phone that nobody has then its rubbish or insane expensive.

True. Good point.
Hopefully, Samsung continues to make great quality products. IMHO, I'll take quality over quantity (or massive production of inferior products in order to just reach a certain quota) any day of the week.
You could look at it a different way...
Think about this, for a start not everyone will get or be in the position to get an S2. Instead of 'oh that's cool what is it' you might get people saying hey an S2 they are great aren't they? I have one and just put the latest xxx rom on it, have you tried it, take a look A full on conversation going about how good the phone is, while others around wonder why they don't have one of these phones.
I already have (here in Belfast Northern Ireland) been talking to a complete stranger and quickly set his phone up a bit better for him on the spot! He thanked me and said he is very new to android. I showed him my setup and he was impressed so I pointed him in the direction of xda.
So if you like it might not be such a unique club soon, but it will still be a chosen few only with a few more friendly members, don't you think?

Tab 4 Accessories now a plenty on ebay

In the last week I noticed alot more Tab 4 stuff is being listed on ebay. Plenty of busy Chinese workers! I just had to fill that empty space in the forum headings. Love those cheap prices from China, I couldn't resist these!

I may sound like some sort of Liberal, but I would not recommend buying Chinese/Asian "manufacturers" for 2 reasons:
1) Chinese products tend to not work correctly (about 60-70%)
2) Many of these "workers" are people in forced labor or even slaves. I know it sounds crazy but watch a Documentary about counterfeit items and stuff and you'll know what I am talking about

I am a union man but I have to say I don't agree with your "liberal" view.
My experience is that 95% of the stuff I have ordered on eBay from China functions exactly as described. I see many of the same products for sale here except with a 200% markup over the eBay price. I do agree that if it is an item that you need to depend on for work or something that may cause mayhem if it fails, yes there is no substitute for quality. A case, OTG cable, HDMI cable, or a screen protector isn't in that category, for me anyway!
Have you looked at how many holidays they have in China? Most are not oppressed slaves....they work hard to get a leg up.
God made the heavens and the earth in six days......everything else is made in China.....

I bought this a few weeks ago. I got it for 9 bucks then its now 15 but its a really nice high quality durable portfolio type case. Plus comes with a 3 year warranty. So even for 15 bucks (still beats the 30-40 Ive seen them else where) still a good deal. And doesnt add much bulk. Everything still easily accessible except for the sd card slot. Its covered of course.
SUPCASE Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 Case - Premium Slim Hard Shell Leather Case Cover (Black), 3 Year Manufacturer Warranty
Btw where do you think your phone, tablet, tv, mp3 player etc etc comes from? Asian countries. Just saying.

There are a bunch of poetic cases for the tab 4 now.
Those are some nice quality cases

What is even better when I bought it in May (still had not been made LOL). I got it for $6 the next day was up to $15. I knew I was going to have to wait awhile so I bought a tab 3 silicone cover from bumps and drops (ports really don't match but an exacto knife solved that problem!). I got an email from Amazon that because they were taking so long they were stopping the order. I knew this was going to be a good case so I e-mailed the Supcase people and they said not to worry and the product was almost done!
When the time did come I was right this thing is great. It protects like an otterbox but is quite slim! Have dropped the tablet many times and doing great. But, I guess they rewarded my wait because they sent me second one absolutely free! To me that is great customer service!
Goofy
P.S I know this took more than five minutes to write if they freaking block me again I am going to scream!!!!!!!
sorry maybe in different topic , anyone knows where I can get TEMPERED GLASS for tab 4 8, becoz I couldn't found it at ebay or amazon.tx

A dying breed.... due largely to exportation of jobs and aggressive right wing union busting.
I'm an inactive member of IBEW and AFTRA (because I no longer work in that industry) and belonged to bargaining units when I was a county employee.
Unfortunately, many people don't recognize that American workers get vacations, paid sick leave and holidays, health insurance and many of the other benefits we enjoy thanks to the contributions of organized labor, even if they don't belong to unions themselves.
The union influence is eroding because spin masters have re-branded union busting as "the right to work," and many people see unions as their enemy, not their best friend in the workplace.
I usually hate bumper stickers, but I smile every time I see one with a union logo and the slogan "United we bargain, divided we beg."

Question I'm in, what about you?

Pre-ordered the second it opened up. For foldables I've had the Z Fold 1 and 2, as well as the the X Fold. Love folders despite the problems and I'm looking forward to getting back into a Pixel without giving up my folding action.
I'll be selling the watch new in the box, anyone know how one goes about that?
im in australia so i cant buy it, its not like i could afford it anyways lmao

I'm all in also. Was thinking about holding off until the 8 Pro... especially since it's supposed to have a flat screen, but nah. A foldable seems like it'll be more fun.
Not really concerned about the price or or any other first glance, hot takes from influencers. I am however concerned about durability as I've never had a folding device. I made sure to select the Pixel protection (or whatever the heck it's called) option from the Google Store.
Anyhow, you should start the traditional pre-order/shipping/delivery thread.
Edit: I started the shipping thread.
For the price of a new Google Pixel Fold I'd prefer to buy a 90s Japanese hatchback instead

Currently have a fold3 and have pre-ordered the pixel fold. Love the software of the zfold and think it's a better phone. Unfortunately the aspect ratio is rubbish and this is the one place pixel has it nailed which is why I pre-ordered. Currently have the watch 5 pro so not sure which watch to keep and which to sell.
Also I'm looking at building some custom ROMs again which I haven't been able to do on zfold 3

I also pre-ordered. They almost priced themselves out of a sale to me, but they offered me a GREAT deal on my trade-in, so I couldn't resist.

Getting anything from the pixel 7 booting like aicp or paranoid Android booted won't be too difficult but how well they'll work with the dual screen is a bigger question. Hopefully some more talented people than me will work on the fold as well
I have about the same luck with folders as I do rectangles as far as durability goes so I'm not losing sleep over it.
I can say for sure, it's hard to go back to the old rectangle after having a folding phone. You can, it just feels so limiting.

Thx for the reassurance on durability. First foldable I'll have, so wasn't sure... hence the protection.
In fairness I don't break too many phones and while there is an inherent weakness in the screen and folding mechanism that doesn't exist with a rectangle your handling tends to necessarily be more careful.
I'm not talking about walking around on eggshells, it's the form factor itself. Foldable are heavy enough that when dropped in your jacket pocket they can actually swing the jacket around to where it will hit the car door when you get in the car. Little things like that keep you a bit more aware of the phone more than you are with a rectangle.
You also don't handle it the same way because you may or may not unfold it, just that possibility makes you more particular about how you hold it and keeps you from whipping it out and waving it about in the same way you do with a rectangle. It's a small thing but it's present.
I guess an easy way to quantify it might be to wander over to the Z fold forums and give them a quick look for issues. Pick an older phone like the Z fold 2 to give people time to break them and post about it. You won't see much there, you can break them but they're not as fragile as you might think. I know I went in expecting the worst but for me the only thing that surprised was what they survived through; not what they didn't.

I've had the z fold 3 for nearly 2 years and have dropped it more times than I care to remember. Durability wise the only issue I've had is the inner screen protector. It comes unstuck/fractures along the crease. You can remove it but I just had mine replaced twice but Samsung for £10 a time
I took the screen protector off the second, left the first one on: The Z fold 1 was a little sketchy compared to the second. After some time with the ZF2 I felt comfortable removing it, feels better when swiping without it.
Thx for the responses. Wasn't really concerned about the outer portion... mainly the screen, so thanks for adding stuff about the protector in there. The only thing I've heard of regarding the Z Fold series was the protector bubbling.
I haven't broken a phone since the Nexus 4. Even then, it was just the back glass Still have it in my collection as a matter of fact.
Anyhow, I'm no longer slightly concerned about screen issues and didn't want to derail this thread. Back to being about who is in.
Im very tempted to be honest, I love the form factor, and I a always loved pixels. I'm in the UK, but can't seem to get the option to trade in my Fold 4 though.
Quick question though, with the google store, does the funds get taken from the account as soon as you ore order? Or when it ships.

It's stupid isn't it. In the USA they are offering $800 for the fold 3 but I'm in the UK also and they only offer £330 trade in. I can sell my z fold 3 on eBay for £500. Samsung and Google really screw UK user's on trade ins and freebies
I ordered using the interest free payment scheme and 1st payment comes out next month which might be before I get the device

I may well do the interest free payments as well. Is there an option to pay it all off in the future if needed?
