Setting for Window Smart Flip Cover to work properly? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Just wondering if there is a setting that needs to be changed for the screen to display everything properly in the window of the Smart Flip Cover. Thanks

Wow! So no one knows!?
My local Best Buy an Best Buy Mobile in the mall still don't have this case. A stand in the mall which sells cases, name brand an generic, has a generic flip cover window case for only $20. I tried it and my phone did nothing with the front of the flip cover over my screen, so I didn't buy it. Then i walked to all of the carrier stands in the mall, and T-Mo was the only one that had the official Samsung on stock but they only had 1 an it was black (my GN3 is white). I put it on my phone anyway just to check it out, an again my phone did nothing with the front over my screen. I assumed there had to be a setting for the case to work properly, but couldn't find anything in the Settings. Any help would be appreciated! My Nexus 7 FHD didn't have any setting that needed to be changed for a smart cover to work on it, but I'm hoping that the GN3 does an it isn't just that my phone isn't working properly because I don't have ANY other issues with mine! Not the sound issue so many others have or anything!

There are no settings that I know of.
The official cases come with a back that must be replaced also. The switch that tells the phone whether the screen is open or not connects to terminals inside the back cover.
The knock off cases sometimes don't have this so beware.

Thank you!! I didn't know the back had to be connected for the front to work properly! I was just putting the front of the case against my screen, expecting it to change. No that I know, I'll go back an retry both cases! Thanks so much!!

iGet Folio Case - works with AT&T?

There's a decent looking folio on Amazon for $12.95 but it doesn't specify if it works with the AT&T note. Any idea if it's fully compatible? Have any if you guys tried this case out?
Sent from my SGH-I987 using XDA
Can you link it? The only difference between the AT&T and the other note is the lack of the physical button on the screen. If it doesn't have any screen protection it shouldn't be an issue.

I just took a look at that - there isn't a screen protector or anything else that interferes with the soft keys, so it should be fine. Looks like it just has a plastic mold that snaps on to the device (like a slim TPU case).
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I can't easily post a link as I'm typing this up on my Tab using the XDA app, sorry.
As stated above, it's a snap-in case, so no front button molding would interfere. I think I'll go ahead and order it. I'll report back with my opinion of it!

Replacement Back

Does any one know where to get a replacement back mine broke in my pocket today, I'd like to get a replacement that isn't glass, even if I have to sacrifice the NFC antenna.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
Only ones I've seen are the glass type on eBay ranging $100-$300
I'm in need of one too, mine broke a while ago and is progressively getting worse

That's what I was afraid of. Think we could find someone with a very precise CNC machine to make us new ones for that much out of something like aluminum?

Awful idea. Remember iPhone antenna gate?
Sent via LG E970 with houstonn aokp 4.2.2
Right. But as far as I know only the NFC antenna is in the back not the GSM/LTE antenna so shouldn't it be fine? I'd at least try it for $50 bucks. Also if the metal would completely block the signal how does the HTC one get service?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Premium HD app
Because it's not all metal. There are little parts of it that aren't, and that's where the antennae are.
If you can't find a replacement back, maybe best case would be putting this on the back http://www.bodyguardz.com/armor-carbon-fiber-lg-optimus-g-p970.html to at least prevent it from getting worse. It should prevent pieces from falling off and it'll cover it up and make it look better (at least in theory).

I bought my replacement from the same seller (but the price was lower then). I took it to a screen/case repair stand at the mall and they installed in less than 10 minutes.

Any thoughts? For otterbox?

Check this out don't know if it has been posted but I just did a Google and here is what I found

There was placeholder on their website last week but it was poofed. I'm hoping something is announced next week. I'm too clumsy to wory about cute :fingers-crossed:
My point exactly it looks legit and if that is the design I hope and pray that it is like that to keep dust from under screen like the note 2 case was horrible for doing. I just bought two note 3 phones as well as I still have two note 2 phones.

Got this in response from Otterbox today
Dear Matthew,
Our Otter Engineers are currently working on a case for that Note 3 device. We do not have an expected launch date at this time, but we recommend following us on your favorite social network to hear the latest OtterBox news and product updates. Thank you for your patience as we work to perfect our next, top quality product.

Thank you sir I think it is quite ridiculous how for our preferred choice of device maker is rather pushed to the side but then again Samsung isn't like apple being that they make devices differently from each model. Instead of waiting half a decade

OEM S-VIEW CASE HOW TO Disable Sview software

Does anybody know how to disable the sview software that pops up while the OEM s view case is installed? I'm wanting to have access to Google Music lockscreen controls while the cover is closed. Thanks

If you don't want the S-view functions at all, you could remove the IC chip from case.

An excellent point although some folks have received a free case when they purchased their phones. Either way, he can still head over to ebay and get one if he doesn't want to screw up the OEM case.

Knock off feels like a knockoff. But I have one in the mail so I will do a side by side. But you get what you pay for. I like the wake function but don't use most of the apps on the s view. I think it's crazy nobody knows how to turn it off. As much as we mod this should have been hacked a long time ago. This case just obviously isn't very popular with the people who do the modding. I will add info later to this post when i do a side by side. Hopefully it will be useful to someone.

Or maybe it IS popular. I suspect the reason why no devs have wanted to disable the S-View functions is because that's the entire reason that bought it to begin with.

Doubt that. I have the knockoff with the window and it's perfect with stock lockscreen and the lockscreen music far more usable than the sview cover software. There has to be another reason that's being overlooked.
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Lol, so the metal connectors in the case is actually just a simple piece taped to the case so I just peeled it off and at least I get music controls now. But the sview software has different touch sensitivity than the rest of the software so the screen is unable to be used while the cover is closed when not using the sview software.

You could turn the extra sensitive mode on for the touchscreen somewhere in the settings. It's called glove mode or something.
isn't the music control part of the s view software using the window, if you somehow disable the s view feature, the music function will also be disable, if you must disable, have you tried going into.
settings/more/application manager/all, and try to mess around the software to disable the feature if it's available, becareful not to disable the wrong features or some phone feature might not work.
Try sticking some tape over the metal connectors on the cover

Bleh, the black one is $35.
$19.99 + $5 can of vinyl paint for any color you want = win.

yeah win
So I have had this for a couple of days now and I have to say it works way better than the 3 stock cover slide in aftermarket receivers I tried.
This factory one works great on the Nokia bases that all the other units choked on.
Now I set it down on them and I don't have to be careful. It just charges. None of that on and off stuff the other after market inserts did.

No new cover needed
I see the S5 has an official cover released now too. But these covers seem to be fatter than stock.
wiqiqi dot com - The Note 3 receiver they're selling here is what I am using without any added thickness and no issues whatsoever. And it's cheaper too.
Is this cover like the stock back cover that makes the camera lens pop out or its like the cases that makes the camera not pop out?
I mean I'm planning to get the aluminum bumpers but I am also looking for a back cover that secures the camera when put on flat surfaces
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I am going to be getting the note 3 next week, and I am definitely interested in wireless charging, I've never used it before.
Tell me, please, do you still have access to the USB port when this is installed? Does it replace the original back cover that comes with the phone? How does it connect to the battery? Does it charge slower over wireless than when charging via USB? Does it affect NFC?
I realize these questions could be Googled, but if someone has this unit it would take only a moment to answer. Thank you

It is thicker than the stock back cover, just like the sview cover. The camera is recessed and does not touch anything when you lay the phone on its back. Perfect for a bumper case.

You still have access to the USB port and can charge through the USB port if you like. If you look at the picture you can see pins that stick out.... Those connect to the phone allowing the battery to charge wireless and it does replace the whole back cove and make the phone a little thicker. Lastly it does charge slower especially compared to the thr USB 3.0 cable that comes with the phone. I have not tested nfc as I really don't have a use for it but I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect if if you get the Samsung and not an aftermarket.

I finally broke down and ordered a bear motion bumper and just got it today and I have to say with the thickness of the back cover, the bear motion bumper definitely is the best fit. It adds a little grip and protection but not to much bulk. Feels just right.
