[Q] Karbonn A27 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After struggling for months, I was finally able to root my Karbonn A27 using Root Master. Soon after rooting, I couldn't resist the urge to install a custom rom.The stock rom was giving me a lot of issues, one of the major problem being the heating issue.
So as a next step, I tried to flash the recovery. I took a chance and flashed the CWMrecovery which was not meant for my device. (The CWM I used was actually meant for Karbonn A21)
As a result of that, I got my phone bricked. (Soft bricked caught on bootloop) Luckily, I am able to put the phone on Fastboot mode though.
To unbrick my phone, I understand that I need to find the stock rom for my device. So that I can re-flash all the images in Fastboot mode. The problem is I am not to find the Stock Rom on the internet. Please let me know if there is any other alternate way to get out of jail.
Notable things:
1) One interested thing, that I would like to share about my phone is that, while booting if I press the "power and up arrow" button together it takes me to weird screen showing hardware information. It does nothing after that, I will have to remove and reinsert the battery to make it boot again.
2) Another thing, after restarting the phone by pressing the power button later if I press the "UP and DOWN" arrow key together. It takes me to another screen which reads "Fastboot" mode displaying options for recovery and factory reset

Please help guyz... I strongly believe xda is the only place in this world that can fix this phone now for me.

:crying: Please help guyz...

[Q] Help needed: galaxy young stuck in cwm loop

Hi all,
I need some help please.
I tried to root my sons galaxy young S6310N using a video on you tube
However at the 4.41 point I didnt have the yes- root option.
I themn rebooted and it went back into CWM recovery. v6.0.3.2
It's been stuck in this for 2 days now, I have searched everywhere for a solution but I'm lost now. I have information overload I think.
I have tried to install drivers through Kies but it won't recognise my phone in CWM recovery or in download mode.
I have tried to install a custom rom via sd card, it seems to work but reboots into CWM again.
I fear I may have made a mess of it now by messing around with things I know nothing about. I panicked really.
The phone was running jelly bean and is only a week old.
I can get adb but not sure how to use it properly.
Could someone please help?
Thanks in advance
sorted it myself
Hi, just in case anyone was interested I managed to sort this.
I put phone into download mode (holding vol - & menu & power) then pressed up at logo screen to enter download mode.
My pc then installed drivers automatically (something I had been struggling with in CWM recovery mode)
I then installed stock rom recovery.tar.md5 file using odin and the phone rebooted as normal.
I have given up trying to root it now, I may learn properly before attempting again, or may leave it.
Search for your device first before making a thread..!!

Good..but always use recovery for ur phone only..or make it for ur phone..
And do any changes in stock ROM after creating a BACKUP of the same..
ROOTING is not a difficult now-a-days but overcoming from the loss of time and data after BRICKING is so painful.
If you are not friendly with the commands and codes then use a software for that or follow up the WRITTEN guide..or use FARMAROOT app.
Head to thread...Thanks Mr. Bin4ry for this awesome method:
Rooting almost every phone
Enjoy..!!

Another noob, another bricked phone.

Hello all.
I am a first time poster, but a long time stalker of this site. I'd like to start off by saying I am very impressed by this forum. There are a lot of intelligent people and a lot of excellent work being done around here, keep it up!
On to the problem:
To make a long story short, I attempted to flash a custom ROM onto my phone and wound up with a soft brick (I think, the definitions of hard and soft bricks are quite vague all over the internet...).
Phone: Alcatel One Touch Evolve 5020t (TCT Mobile)
Android version: 4.1.2 (Jellybean)
Root access: Yes
Custom recovery: Unsure, but leaning toward no. ROM Manager said I had TWRP and CM installed, but I have never been able to boot into custom recovery mode...
Bootloader: Unsure. I believe it is locked.
OK, Here's what happened: I forgot to wipe my SD card/cache before flashing. Flashed phone, Phone rebooted to the manufacturer screen, then goes dead. Power button turns phone on but phone will not get past the manufacturer splash screen. Tried to boot in recovery mode by pressing vol up + power, the bootloader comes up, but only the options "Reboot System" and "Reboot in Recovery Mode" appear. Selecting either option results in the same thing: Phone dies after manufacturer screen.
Connected via USB:
PC will no longer recognize the device. When phone is powered on and connected, PC makes the sound for a connected device, then makes the sound it makes when you disconnect. It does this multiple times. Powered off it does the same thing. With battery removed, phone will not power on, but displays the charging battery picture.
I have read that formatting my SD card can fix this somehow, but haven't attempted it yet.
I have stock ROM image for the device. I have backups saved on the SD and my PC.
Can anyone help me?

hi could u send me the stock ROM image of the Alcatel One Touch Evolve 5020t ? my email is [email protected]
or u can give me the link of the rom that i can download .
Thanks !!!
i pimped my rom and got a brick
I used an app called Pimp my Rom and tweaked the cpu and kernel. It was a lot faster, however when I rebooted my phone I got a brick. I tried booting recovery and apply update from sd card. it failed with stock and rooted recovery roms. I understand the bootloader must be unlocked prior to this type of flash. Is there any other solution. I am currently without a phone!!

[Q] Need help unbricking a z787

hello everyone
this phone is NOWHERE... i cant believe how few people have this phone in the hacking community.
I've used a guide seen here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCiq21WsFEc
essentially I rooted it in KK successfully. Then I installed TWRP through the twrp app... installed successfully. no error.
Went to reboot, phone does not get past splash. Recovery instantly goes to black (powered off) screen with red LED (tells me the phone is kind of on.. but some serious hardware misunderstanding taking place.)
How can I restore the stock recovery? While it is in this no-display-red-light mode it appears on my computer in DFU... so I know it is possible to still get in there, but I cannot find anything about the stock recovery for this phone.
Can't believe ZTE has little to no support for this phone...
Possible solution
That video seemed to be for the newer model of the zte grand x, thats why its called grand x plus. I had tried it on my phone and it was like stuck in a power up loop, what i did to get out of it is to go into recovery mode by pressing and hold the power button plus the up volume button. One i got in there i just rebooted it. Try that out and see if it works. Im still looking around for a solid root for this phone

Please help i cant restore

Hello,i got a huawei y6 2017 MYA-L11 model, i unlocked the bootloader and installed twrp, i made a backup of my stock rom and then wiped to install some custom roms. But now my phone is not working, everytime i start the phone it goes only to twrp even when i restore.I see that the backup exist in internal storage (contains system, data and boot) and says the restore was successful but the device boots always in twrp menu. Please help.
Any help guys?It doesnt seem so difficult problem for the level of this forum.
Try resetting the phone by pressing up volume button when on warning screen to get to erecovery. Use the option to shut down phone. Then try starting the phone again after a minute or two.
BTW what rom were you trying to install?
I tried every possible combination in the warning screen the only place i can go is twrp.I tried to install aokp, lineage 14.1, slim7, xeonHD nothing worked.
Where did you get those roms, I don't think they are for the y6 2017!
Anyway try pressing and holding the volume up button when at warning screen until the phone turns off. It will come back on and go to erecovery after the warning screen.
If that doesn't help then get SPFlashtool and stock rom and flash it.
I didnt know that y6 and y6 2017 was different. When i hold volume up the warning screen keeps repeating like forever and the phone doesnt go off.
Do i need spflashtool, can i do it from twrp install?
Anyway thanks for the help,it seems this phone cant take any custom roms,i should had bought a sumsung, can you suggest me some brands/devices that can be easily rooted/twrped with much custom roms in low range price.
We all make mistakes.
You will be able to fix it with the spflashtool if you download the rom.
Just have a look on here for an alternate device, I wouldn't know off hand which would be a good buy.
Tip: Read, read and then read some more before attempting anything with your phone!
Problem, the phone cant stay off when the usb is connected to the pc or electricity, when i press power off it reboots to warning screen and twrp,if it is closed when i plug the usb it starts into twrp all the time.
When i put the scatter file and press download this error appears
ERROR:S_COM_PORT_OPEN_FAIL(1013)
[COM]Failed to open COM port.
I m on linux
Use this tut to set up for linux.
You will just have to time plugging in the usb cable., I managed it so I know it can be done!

Huawei Y5 II bricked and cant fix.

Hello,
Im new here and im not sure if here is the correct place to ask questions but,
I have a Huawei Y5 II and i was trying to put android 6.0 or higher but i had alot of problems.
I first unlocked my bootloader and then installed a custom recovery TWRP and CWM on it, but i never succeeded in booting into one of them.
What happened is that i saw in a post here on xda that with a certain command in fastboot mode i can remove the custom recoveries ( because they didnt work at all) but when i did it i ended up formatting my whole system, cache and boot.
Now my phone just stays on the huawei logo when i turn it on and nothing else.
i tried to install a custom recovery again throught the fastboot mode using adb on my pc, but when i press the vol up+ power my phone just keeps restarting and restarting and staying on the logo.
Thanks in advance for your time spent on reading my problem i just wanna use my phone again cuz i love it. <3
Hi, try to flash latest stock firmware for SD update here is example but do for your model and region !!!
http://huawei-firmware.com/rom/huawei-y5ii/cunu29/1719
Good Luck
Thanks you, but i would do that if i had access to my recovery!
If i press the keys my phone just restarts and restarts until i let the keys off, then again... just the logo.
my phone still is in warranty and i can give it to my distributor so their service fixes it.... but i dont really want that.. i just wanna fix it and use it as before.
well..
i had my phone to service and i got it fixed for 100 bucks. :/ i really am a sadman
