how did you brick it? and what is wrong with your phone?

Actually, it's not my phone but my friend confirmed me that the device was until a sudden brick.
The phone wasn't root nor updated. it was on 4.1.2 out of the box.
Symptoms:
* Black screen
* Not charge at all
* Volume Up/down, power and home === No good
* The battery is Ok since i tried it on another S3
I tried to make a USB Jig but still no download mode so the only thing left is to try the bootloader matter. ( i dont know whether it's gonna work but it's still worth testing )
Thanks a lot

sorry for being not specific but I wanna know what is "send it for RMA"; as I already got the original ROM and nothing change; still have the same problem
Could you please tell me what to do?
RMA = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_merchandise_authorization aka send it back where you bought it
If you have original ROM and no Yellow Triangle or increased custom counter (if yes use TriangleAway app), so they can't know you were messing with your phone then you can send it. Do wipe cache/data and factory reset.

S3 Won't start, no-led or start-up screen

Hello,
After rooting my phone I wanted to go to the recovery menu to delete all data on the phone.
So I shut down the phone and used the buttons to go the the recovery menu, when the screen appears it was there for 0,5 seconds and then I saw some text (Don't know what it was). I was not able to do anything so I decided to pull out the battery.
After waiting a while I wanted to turn the phone back on but it didn't do anything.
No led, no screen nothing, no communication with the computer.
Battery was 100% loaded.
How can this happend?
Is there something that I can do?
Thankss

Hi,
I used gs3.wonderhowto.com/how-to/root-your-samsung-galaxy-s3-and-flash-stock-roms-using-odin-for-windows-0142713/
Model I9300.
Thats all I know..
Put your battery in. Plug the usb cable in. If no led comes on at this stage, you need a new motherboard

Nothing to do with this forum why don't you ask the forum that gave you this method that has bricked your phone .
Suggest you flash with Philz recovery from Android Original Development .
That fails then flash your stock rom via Odin and try again .
Basics read first.

Critical you read the first two posts .

Thanks for the information, i'm going to read the threads.
They're not really going to help you now. Your phone exhibits the symptoms of full sds.
Send it for repair if you still have warranty.

Yeah I know but in the future.
Is it by my fault that the phone is broken ?
That I do something wrong or is the software corrupted?

Ultimately its samsungs fault for having faulty firmware on the emmc, but it certainly could have been partially your fault for taking a patched device and flashing it with an unpatched component. Without knowing exactly what you flashed/ recovery version etc its hard to say

When you flash stuff from a forum that has just copied bits and pieces its hard to know what went wrong .
However best response is to tell Samsung that it failed to boot one morning and you have read on the web about the emmc problem .
I have my phone back so now i'm going to try to root it again.
It's kernelversion 3.0.31 - 1314436
I'm going to use the XDA manual and rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407407
Is this a good kernelversion? Not that my phone will fail again.
Thanks!
// EDIT:
Succesfully rooted / flashed my Phone .

If you read the whole thread instead of just quoting the first one you will get your answer. Honestly its only about 8 post and will take you all of 5 minutes.

Thank u but i did read the post many times. but though some one might as well know some thing abt the problem.
i've read more then needed. since it was not a hardware damage, i wwas expecting a genuine response rather then just a mock over the post i made.
The response was genuine, giving you the correct answer -you won't find a different one. If you flashed a Note kernel then your hardware is damaged and needs a new screen assembly.
100% solution
after root i9300 with wrong cft auto root.. touch doest work.. and i replace this chipset.. and my problem solve.. find this chipset from broken lcd.. good luck

[Q] My Mega 6.3 MAY be completely dead

Fixed. Sorry for inconvenience

Hi guys. I have a Mega 6.3 which has a cracked screen. Since the glass wasn't working, I couldn't unlock (Password lock) it so rather stupidly, I wiped it through the recovery mode. Now it is bricked. I have sent it back to Indonesia to fix it and they say they can't, even if they flash the ROM. I suspect that the bootloader is bricked. Does anyone know what I can do? If I haven't given enough information, please reply and I will try to give as much information as I can. I am sorry if someone has asked the same question but I wasn't able to find a thread about this.
(My Mega is running 4.4.2 Stock ROM and KNOX is flagged and tripped)

1) Poweroff your phone and then turn on while pressing volume down+power button. Now, grab a camera take a picture of the screen and post it here. (don't try screenshots)
2) now normally boot your phone and then goto settings > about and then recursively take screenshot of all sub-sections and post here.

You have 2 options depending on your willingness to unlock. UNLOCK VOIDS WARRANTY AND nobody but YOU will be responsible for bricked device, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.
1) If you unlock then you can try custom software such as Carbon, AOSP etc or you can try to factory reset your phone to see if it works.
2) If you don't, the best you can do is factory reset your phone and hope it works.

PS: Additional issue. The home button, back button and recent apps button doesn't work anymore too. It doesn't detect any sim card. I don't know what's happening with my phone, but the problems are getting worse. Thanks sir!
