Posting your tablet's model number and the firmware version currently installed on it would have been helpful with answering your question; however, take a look at Condi's S.onyTablet.S [FLASHER] Tool to see if it will meet your needs.

Hey all,
--hoping I'm posting in the correct section--
Recently I happened to acquire a galaxy S3 i9300T (australian) from a friend who didn't need it any more, with 4.1.2 jellybean installed on it.
Specifically the vodafone DUEMB1 version/build from Thailand. I'm living in Southern Europe though.
I hope it doesn't matter much, even if it's the Australian model of the phone.
It seems to already be network-unlocked.
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction since I'm mainly interested in rooting it.
Mainly for the super user rights (all folder access) and to be able to run applications such as titanium backup. It's all that matters to me for easy backup.
I saw in one thread that there is the Chainfire CF-auto root that is supposed to make this very easy.
Is it compatible with the version and build I have though? Or should I first install another stock rom version or something?
Also last question. After the root, is it mandatory to install anything else or is the phone good to go ?
Thanks in advance and sorry if a question seems silly, I'm kinda new to this.

Chainfire CF auto root will be easy to follow as it was the first rooting method i did with my Galaxy S3 Australian model. Good luck!

That was the root kit I used on my 321 tab z. Don't forget to backup DRM key before unlock bootloader.

DooMLoRD's tool is for earlier firmware releases and will not work with Android 4.2.2. Use the Vroot tool instead. Search this forum for information about the Vroot tool.

Thanks Xperia Tablet Rooted:good:
firewall of china
I purchased an xperia tablet z and I've had a lot of fun with it. It has its issues. But what's bothering me most is that because I bought it in China, it does not have access to any of the google services. So, no PLAYSTORE. And I am not a techie either. I looked into what rooting is and what flashing is. I was wondering if I could somehow root the device and install a new firmware from some other country... (or maybe its a new kernel.. I don't know what the difference is!) would I be able to run Google services ??
I have seen some devices here in china that have access to google services. So I know that it is possible. Just don't know how. HELP! And ya, I tried downloading Vroot and it took me to a Chinese website! Root"dashi".... in Chinese. And I don't think rooting is sth I can figure out in Chinese language. Can I get a link for the English version of it?
Details on device:
Sony Xperia Tablet Z SGP111
Build number: 10.3.1.C.0.136
Android version: 4.2.2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-g7eaf37a-01078-g2ebac89.

You should be able to flash a firmware from a different region.. Also make sure the firmware you flash, matches your tablet specs for example if your tablet is wifi only, then pick a European wifi only firmware.. if it's a 4g model then pick 4g European firmware.. Good Luck...
Rooted and enjoying google services!
Thank you for replying to my post. I was able to root my SGP311 android 4.2.2 with Kingo Android root software. vRoot works too.
But after that it was quite complicated. hard time installing CWM recovery. Trial and error until i was finally able to flash the japanese firmware. it took me back to and 4.1 which was great because now i finally had the tablet UI and could access small apps like it was meant to.
Thankyou all developers at xda for making it possible.
Hi all. I was here some months back, trying to root the device (which I had upgraded to firmware 4.03 r1a) and I tried all the scripts, the allinone and other ADB commands. Multiple times. Got this device in China, and didn't have any luck rooting it.
Now after not using the device for months, I turn it on and notice r5a is available. I thought.. hmm, maybe upgrading it will make it harder once again to root it, so I better check online to see if there's a root available now or not. I've been looking around and can't find any real answers on this.
So, just wanted to ask: Is the Sony Tablet S 4.03 r1a rootable now?
Thanks!

Hi and thanks for reply
I did follow the instructions on this page but that was probably last January. I couldn't find any specifics about a Chinese firmware with 4.03 r1a, so was just wondering if this guide was valid for it.
I suppose I'll try it again, and see if anything's changed.
Thanks.

Hi all,
I've just joined the xda forum, i'm a software developer ( mainly DSP, Linux and uCos2 ) and have an interest in android.
I recently purchased a cheap tablet ( Azpen A1320 ) and can confirm that the Kingo rooting application
does root the tablet.
thanks.

I also purchased the 1320, from TigerDirect outlet a while back. I've been trying find anything I could on good apps and rooting tools for it but haven't had much luck. As I understand, it comes pre-rooted but doesn't have an pre-installed root tool/customizing tools. I tried ROM Manager with no suck luck. Thanks for confirming that Kingo works.
I'm a newbie. So forgive me if this sounds like a dumb question but, should I install SuperSU or BusyBox? Also, does Titanium Backup work, and if so, how well?
Also, which version did you download? I didn't see Azpen listed in the device list.
Hello everyone. My friend just got me a Chinese Android Phone. It's called Matrix Premium P451. I did some research, but I can't find any info on this thing. I have rooted all of my
phones so far and I wish to do the same with this one, but (obviously) I can't, because I don't know anything about this device. So, if you could help me with rooting my phone I would be very thankful.
