After rooting my Droid x2 and installing cwm recovery I tried to boot it into recovery but I get a triangle w/ exclamation mark screen. Any ideas what the problem is? Thanks!

Bootstrap recovery is different than regular recovery. Plug device into a wall charger while powered off. You should boot into cwm that way

When ever i enter hboot then attempt to enter recovery it goes to the green htc lettering with then i get an image of the phone with a red exclamation point and am stuck from there (wish i could post image =( ). i can pull the battery, replace it and boot like normal though.
what does it mean?
Boot normally and open ROM manager. Delete your old recovery and then install clockwork.

Click to collapse
I've had to do the same thing.
Hey guys did the superoneclick root and i flashed clockwork mod, went into recovery the signature failed...but weird thing the power button doesn't select anything in recovery then when i pull the batt, and turn it on it goes right back into recover...almost like a boot loop any ideas?
Use heimdall or odin, flash recovery with that, boot straight into recovery where you have your rom of choice waiting as well as non stock kernel. Easiest and fastest way to get up and running

You can also use quick boot to boot into recovery from the OS.

Power off completely. Then power button and volume up. Should do the trick.

You can also just reboot and after the shutdown screen goes away press and hold the volume up button. This will also get you into recovery.
