Kingo android root - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Has anyone used Kingo android root to root this phone? I read an article on CNET about it. It seems very easy. Just install it on a pc, connect your phone and hit root and that's it. No other steps and to unroot the same thing.

That thread only talks about AT&T gs4. nothing about HTC one.

Everything except unlocking the bootloader should be able to work... But you have to go online to htcdev.com, or whatever the site is, and get the unlock token. Everything else can be done with fastboot and recovery

So if I want to just root but not unlock
"From "terminal emulator , what packages if any and is there a script to do so... Just to gain root.
Almost like a one click method or like zroot uses or terminal emulator

The bootloader must be unlocked first. AFAIK. From what I remember that's the only way to gain root.

No you have to unlock the bootloader first. That part isn't hard though... Takes like 5 min if you can borrow someone's computer
This sticky has a link to hasoon's all in 1 tool kit, but you will also need a computer for that. There is NO one click method for Amaze, and won't be here until S=off does AFAIK

Should be able to push everything through from sdcard on your phone, as long as your typing correct commands into your terminal emulator. Can find the instructions with the file links.

Success has been reported in post 15 of the same thread. Also, check out the stickys, particularly "Read Here First. All things MoPho". The best info is kept there.
Good luck!

Ok. I found the problem I think. I need an apk fire or not to fail. Its a system app. It called guided tours apk. If anyone has this apk can you pay it please as my computer is literally in the mail on the way to HP. For warranty repair. Thank you.

I am also on XT912, but I never heard anything about guided tours.apk. I was on .211 as well and I had no problem with the update. Your phone is not bricked, correct? If so, then you have to use mattlgroff's razr utility to unbrick it. If that utility doesn't work, try matt's JBUnbrickXT912 utility:
http://batakang.com/ftp/?dir=DROID_RAZR (The last one on the list)
If it's not bricked, then try re-installing the update. I followed instructions here and everything worked out:
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/12/2...eriously-large-331mb-update-as-build-98-72-8/
Scroll to "update 5" and read instructions.
I hope it all works out!
Ask any questions you need to ask.
Success. I now have job ota installed using the utility. Thank you.
