Anyone out there having problems with signing into google? I keep getting a warning in my status bar saying that I can't sign into my account b/c "There was a problem communicating with Google Servers"

Same here. I can't update any apps and keep getting sign in errors. Hangouts is also messing around. The disruption is somewhat widespread according to Twitter and a few articles I've just read. Not just Android devices either.

It seems I can't load my Google Plus account on my phone, but I can get on it from my tablet. That's the only issue I've had so far.
Update: I had 4 apps that needed to be updated. 3 updated with no problem. 1 did not. The app that didn't was Facebook. I am signed up for the beta if that means anything.

Had the same issue but was able to update my apps. Kept getting the notification so I removed the account and signed back in and now everything seems to be fine

Just wondering if any of you experiencing this problem. I am on KE7 and am rooted. No other problems with sign in and checking of my google mail. However when trying to turn on search history in google goggles or signing on with latitude, the device never signs in and just shows that it is still trying. I tried both with wifi and data connection but still can't enable this.
I tried this on my atrix and also htc desire but it didn't exhibit this problem.

Yes I have the same problem.
I am also using Greader PRO but not able to sign in.
free version I have no problems signing in.
Try a google sign in via YouTube .

Tried, but not working for me.
read that some people having problems uploading to youtube too.
I do not have that problem.
Youtube sign in works but haven't tested upload.

Every time I open the YouTube app, I have to sign in again if I want to access personalised content. This didn't used to be the case, so why is it now? Is anyone else having this trouble?

Nobody else having a similar issue? I'm also finding the notification sound on the stock sms app keeps getting reset to default. May or may not be related to the YouTube issue.

I'm also having this problem on my Sony Xperia S (Stock ICS).
It's a pain as each time I add something to a playlist I have to tap my only account I have on the phone.

This is an app issue, you can try contacting google about it and ask them to implement "Remember Me" feature in next update.

Hi. Can anyone suggest a good alternative for hangouts/gtalk? I still use it a lot as most of my friends are on android and I've seen a couple of apps from the store that says they support gtalk but i prefer to hear some user experience of anyone used those. Thanks

i'm using im + pro for my Google and icq contacts.
you can always go with non-paid version, which has no chat history backup and few things removed.
I also use im+ best alternative app IMHO.

So i didn't use to get this popup before and now this is the second time i have seen it. i used Vroot to root a few days ago and now i have gotten this popup for the last day or so. why the hell do all these apps need full access to my google account?

Maybe because Google automatically backs up your settings and Wi-Fi passwords and such? Not 100% just throwing sine ideas out.

I am using a GS3 Temasek CM11 and a Nexus 7 2013 Kit Kat 4.4.2. Both devices were working properly (regarding Google Now). Suddenly both of them stopped to work.
I didn't see if the problem started as soon as i updated to Kit Kat.
Is this an account problem? Or did i screw something up in the process?

Do you installed it from Play Store? Or some gapps (0-day, banks, etc)?
Do you see some error, or the app just crash when trying to open it?
You can try cleaning the data for the app, or uninstalling/installing it again. Or flashing gapps again (wipe Dalvik at least).
I have done all of the above(at least for my rooted gs3).
When i try to launch Google now i only get the search bar allowing me to "search or say OK GOOGLE".
If i say "who's the president of USA?" it will answer.
But if i try to set a reminder i get this:
"Turn on Google now to set reminders for dates, times and locations.
Opt in to Google now."
Pressing the "opt in to google now" i again get the google search bar and no google now cards.
Also long pressing an empty space and selecting SETTINGS i dont see the option to enable google now.

Ive had the same issue.. I have a possible solution:
Settings > Location -- make sure its ON and google location reporting is ON.
for privacy reasons I had this OFF and I got 'unfortunately google search has stopped working'
I don't know if this answers your question but its a problem I had but fixed.
