I've just bought a refurbed Archos 80 G9 from eBay and it all works fine apart from....trying to touch and hold on the screen (e.g. to add an app to the home screen) almost never works. It'll work maybe one in every 20 attempts. Other times either the screen jitters from side to side when I tap and hold, or nothing happens at all, or the app next to the one I was tapping and holding opens.
Has anyone else had this problem??
Have you recalibrated the screen?

I'm not even sure if this is a hardware issue, or a software issue, but it's been way over an year(I think that's the warranty for ATT...) since I bought the phone so I;m hoping its s/w related.
My atrix will often glitch out, as if some other hand is touching the screen; it acts as if random spots on the screen is being touched. Its anywhere, in any duration (long press, continuous short press, etc). This makes it hard to actually touch anything or use the capacitive buttons on the bottom. I usually have to click the hold button to solve it.
The thing is, its been getting worse; sometimes the quick fix I got above wont work, and I either have to wait, or just reboot(most of the time, reboot wont work).
Does anyone know what could be causing the problem and how to fix it? Thanks beforehand!
My phones running 4.5.91, rooted, but there isnt really special in the superuser applications list, and most of the apps that require su permissions existed before this happened.
btw I just noticed that Superuser freezes when I try to view the Log during this problem.
I'm fairly new to the atrix, and but I've run into several instances where people cite a 'raindrop issue', and this sounds like it might be the same thing. I'd look into that as a starting point.

Is anybody else having issues getting it to connect? Sometimes mine connects, other times it just plain doesn't detect in the Bluetooth menu.

Yeah happens with me to. I think it's a timing thing. Like the controller goes into rtard mode if it doesn't connect almost immediately after its turned on.
If I open moga ime then turn on Bluetooth in notifications quickly and the controller then do a scan for devices in moga ime it will normally connect without a problem.
Mine doesnt connect at all on an atrix 4g nor on a mytouch slide 3g. It doesnt even appear in the bluetooth menu.

Don't try and connect through the menu, load up he app then hit the switch on the Moga... Then hit next on the app and it will connect, I have been using the Moga since Launch day on this phone and not had any issues when I do it this way.

Thanks but When it asks me to pair the moga it takes me to the bluetooth menu and doesnt detect it. If i hit back it takes me to a screen saying that its syncing but then it states that my moga controller wasnt found. You think it might be defective?
I think I figured it out, I bought brand new batteries and tried again, and what do you know? It worked right away with no problems

This worked perfect on my atrix turns out batteries were good but not good enough for bluetooth.
I was thinking of buying this controller. Can you guys confirm that it was only a battery issue for it? I don't want to buy it and also have issues with it. Thanks!

What works for me every time is the following:
Never turn off your Moga with the power switch. Let it turn off by itself.
While on sleep mode (all leds black), press the sync button and, while holding it, launch the Moga app *OR* a game that supports Moga.
If you opt to launch the Moga app, make sure it's not already open (go to task manager and close it before anything).
Keep holding the sync button until it turns green. If you let it go before that, you might have to start over.
When done playing, simply turn off the bluetooth of your phone.
If for some reason you lost the sync during the game (which happens), just keep pressed the sync button until it goes green.
Again, never switch the power off, the controller will always turn off after a few minutes without activity.
I recently purchased an Equiso from Walmart and today I decided to connect it to a touchscreen monitor. Surprisingly not only did the audio over HDMI work but so did touch input!!!
My only problem is that when I touch the screen, a circle pops up and clicks can only be registered in that circle. I can drag the circle around to make clicks, but typing and normal android input functionality is wasted at that point. I've run throw settings looking for something unusual to turn on or off, but have found nothing.

I'm hoping that this maybe be a normal part of Android development and easily turned off in the build prop or removal/addition of some other file.

My HTC One Max's screen often comes on during calls. Then the touch screen reads my face's contact with the screen and acts according to what it thinks I selected. I have ended up several menu layers into apps that opened because of this. But worse, I have frequently had my calls mute - so the person I am talking to can no longer hear me.
I have had my HTC One Max less than a month, and it has had to be replaced twice, once because the 3G radio didn't work, and the second time because of this issue. Well, the current replacement has the same issue too. I used Android Sensor Box to test the functioning of the proximity sensor, which should be what controls this function. It appears to work, but my experience tells me that it stops working a few minutes into a call.
Your ideas and suggestions are welcome. I love the phone, but this is a problem I can't live with.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
My suggestion is to always press the power button during calls that way the phone only comes back on if you hit the power button again... The reason it comes on now during calls because your ear / side of your head covers and uncovers the sensors at the top of your phone so to eliminate that just turn the screen off by pressing the power button it work 100% for me, my wife had the same problem until I told her to start doing that.. Lmk if that works!!

Hello Everyone. I have my new Samsung S6 Edge about 3 weeks now. It worked flawlessly the first week and a half but lately I've been getting an intermittent problem with the sensitivity of the touchscreen and it is very annoying. I have to swipe, touch a letter (if texting), or touch an icon, multiple times before it will execute the touch. Sometimes it seems as if it is in slow motion where the execution responds 4 to 5 seconds after the touch. There has not been any new software added and I always close out of any running programs.
I have tried all of the following to which none had any effect:
a) Restarting the phone by using the on/off key dialog box
b) Shutting it down for a couple of minutes and starting it again
c) Using Samsung's method to restart the phone by holding the on/off key and down volume key simultaneously
After a day and a half of frustration I was ready to take it back to my mobile supplier when it all of a sudden starting working properly after checking to see if my phone volume was at the maximum volume by hitting the up volume button. It worked well for about 3 days and then started to do the same thing. So again, I played with the volume down and up buttons until the touchscreen sensitivity worked.
I'm currently having the same issue again which prompted me to post this message. Playing with the up and down volume keys seem to help it at a ratio of about 7 out of 10 times. I've searched the web but haven't found anyone else with the same issues. A look at the Applications Manager under Running apps, System is taking up 1.1 GB, Apps taking up 530 Mb, leaving 0.99 GB of free memory.
Any suggestions? Maybe I should be taking it back for a hardware replacement?
Thanks for listening.
OK, so now I've come to the conclusion that hitting the volume up key was just a fluke although It seemed to help sometimes. S6 touchscreen returned to normal again yesterday afternoon. It just comes and goes which makes it rather difficult to show a mobile technician. I'll have to wait until it malfunctions again before taking it in to a Samsung Repair shop.
Me too....
I have subscribed to this thread, in hopes of finding some clues, because I too, have noticed the same exact behavior that OP described and was searching for a remedy/explanation. Also, had the volume up and seemed to somewhat fix it, but like OP said it is sporadic. I, by accident in trying to clear the cache, completely blew away my phone and had to rebuild my phone as I had before and even after a complete reset, I still have the same behavior.
Hi Chris, I stumbled across another interesting behaviour. While the phone is acting up, if you press and hold the UP Volume key (keeping it depressed) you will be able to scroll and press icons as normal. As soon as you let go of the volume key, the issue continues.
This is a link to a video I uploaded today to You Tube that shows exactly the issue I am having.

Just saw your vid, looks like yours is more pronounced than mine (non-Edge btw) and happens once in a while and then it goes away - I am hoping it isn't progressive. I can't seem to identify what triggers the sluggish behavior. I typically clear all apps from the recent apps as a matter of my normal operation in all my previous smartphones. When I notice it the most is when pulling down the notification center and either nothing happens or I have to pull down the shade all the way down for it to stick, otherwise it slides back up.

Thanks Alex, I tried your suggestion and disabled Briefing, cleared the cache & data, then restarted the phone. It did not fix the problem.

for me it's much better..still think it's also the memory problem..as around a half day all is fine..than the lag starts..
Took the phone to a Samsung Repair Shop today. Turns out the LCD display was malfunctioning. It took them 1.5 hours to repair and replace under warranty. Hopefully I won't have anymore issues with it
