Hi all,
where can I buy the car mount for my galaxy s2,i777 and car charger?
can i just buy any car charger with a usb port?
for my use, I just used a generic cheapie window mount for my S2. I got it at my local flea market for $4 It took some trimming with a hacksaw so that the phone would fit properly, and the internal gears broke. So, I hold the phone in place with a couple of rubber bands, works great! As for car chargers, any micro usb one should work, just try to get one that has the most mAH you can find. Good luck!

I had a desk stand for my wizard a while ago, but I sent it back because it wasn't charging properly. I used to have a great looking stand for my Magician, but there seems to be a lack of quality stands for the wizard. Does anyone have one they'd recommend?
Where are the answers I'm waiting too

I bought this one from Ebay for under $20 shipped. Not sure what you're looking for, but I've been very happy with it. It has a power adapter cable for charging through the mini-USB port, PLUS a separate USB cable to sync with the computer.
I like the angled cradle stand. I can more easily use the keyboard and use the apps while in the cradle charging/syncing. Since I have this desktop cradle, a car charger, and the OEM charger on my desk at work, I didn't opt for a charger w/extra battery that could charge both at once.

Looks a bit plasticy. I got one from eBay, but I had to return it because it was faulty. The one you posted looks like what I want as long as it's fairly solid.
While it IS "plasticky", it's proven to be very solid. I've had it for almost a year now without having any issues with it. I've purchased several accessories from this particular vendor for my phones over the years, and haven't had any issues with any of them -- so, I can personally vouch for the quality of the products they list.
Hi,
I've just been going through the big thread on USB car chargers not working correctly on the Hermes devices.
Before I buy one, is it true that if I buy a 'fixed wired' usb car charger (the one where you can't detach the USB cable from the car socket end) it would work fine without having to solder pins etc?
Thanks.
get the car-charger on ebay
Search under:

it is only $5.99 US\and $4.99 Shipping
and also see seller: apluswireless

Thanks, I'll have a look at the link
Hi
I have noticed that when using a car charger that worked on my older htc phone it heats up the jade and then it eventualy locks i have to hit the reset button or pull the battery.
has anyone else found this or know of a way round it, I like my old one as it has about a 2m cable whish reaches exactly where i need it to.
has anyone else seen a car charger like this that works with the jade?
cheers
Tom
I have a charger from an old O2 phone and it's working fine. I had no problems with car charger so far.
I looked on the mains charger i had with the device and it says output is 5V, I think the car charger is giving out 12V as I think it's just a straight through usb light socket so i wouldn't imagine it's stepping down that much, only problem is i don't like the chargers with curly cables i want a straight cable or a charger that just has a usb socket on it.
any idea where i could find that?
I have another option of adding another lighter socket on the dash of the car near where the phone is but i don't really like drilling holes in the car if i don't have to!
ok a quick google and i have found a 4 usb port 5v car charger so fingers crossed that will sort my problem out.
it's quite cool as it has surge and over load protection for each port so if one shorts out the others carry on working.
Hi,
I already bought 2 car charger kits but non of them fit, they all have a mini USB and not the special one the Jade needs.
Can anyone give me a LINK for a proper car charger, cause on eBay they sell all the mini USB crab which obviously doesn't work!
Thanks!

Hi
I'm in London. My original cable is getting a bit worn, and I'm looking to get another one. I got a couple from Ebay - but although they are fine for data they don't charge properly ( same for car chargers ) -
Anyone know where I can get a working one to use with my wall plug in charger?
cheers

I almost never use the original cable, and just end up using standard USB cables and have no problems whatsoever.
Vis-a-vis car chargers, there does seem to be a difference between car charges. I used to find that I had problems charging Blackberry's with cheapo car chargers, but all my current car chargers can charge the Hero just fine.
Regards,
Dave
Some won't work. Cheap ones won't, generally.
Blackberry ones do though!
Odd but true
universal USB car (or wall) charger with a standard USB to mini-USB cable works just fine

also, bought el-cheapo charging set for various phones, covers almost every brand and type you can have (had few different ones in family so it's practical) and mini-USB is present. it works
Hey guys! I need to purchase a USB car charger for my galaxy s4 and I want to make sure I'm buying the right one. I saw this one for example....Amazon.com: AnkerĀ® 18W / 3.6A Dual Port USB Car Charger with Built-In Micro USB Cord for Android (Apple Cable Not Included) (Black): Electronics
I know this one says its compatible with the S4 but my question is does it matter that its 18W/3.6A? Browsing different car chargers, I've noticed they all have different strengths. My question is, are they all safe?? Or will something like this one fry the phone or battery??
Any input will be greatly appreciated guys!!

USB Car Charger
i used one of these with my Charge and I did not have any issues with. I will say that only used it if had to have a bump to hold me over until I got home. Some after market chargers (Plugs and cords) will cause your phone to heat up. If your heat gets too high the next thing you know items are looking up and everything becomes a mess So I would say if you have to use this just be cautious and watch the heat on your phone.
Avantek USB Car Charge is good from all other chargers; personally I use Avantek USB car charger its service is so good.
I hope you also try to take good service.
