Hi Guys,
I am trying to fix a boot-loop issue with my friend's HTC EVO 3D from Rogers:
When you press Volume Down + Power:
I get the following -
-Revolutionary-
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.49.1107
RADIO-10.13.9020.08_2M
eMMC-boot
Jul 12 2011, 15:29:51
HBOOT
<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next time
<POWER> to select item
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
I figured my friend might have tried to go about rooting his phone and installing custom rom without unlocking the boot-loader via htcdev
I tried that process via htcdev - but on the unlock bootloader screen on the phone, it won't let me select "yes" to proceed with the unlocking, only thing I can do is reboot the phone without unlocking the bootloader
Then, I tried to boot into CWM (version 4.0.1.4), I even performed factory reset , wipe cache, delvik cache, battery stats and even erased system.
Following that, I tried installing the following ROM: mwakious3DromĀ®
I downloaded the base ROM and it's still continues to boot loop after the white screen with htc logo.
What can I try?
Please help.
Please Move This Thread...

Attempting to do my first root tonight. Followed the post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1225974
Got stuck on step 17. My phone will NOT go into fastboot after it has been unlocked. I made sure the fastboot checkbox was unchecked. When I hold the volume down button and power button it goes into the menu, automatically runs some script, and tells me this:

Well, you have hboot 1.5, which is not compatible with the root method you're using. You need to delete that file on your SDcard and move along to HTC's Unlock method. From the screenshot it looks like you've already done that. So what is it you're trying to accomplish?
P.S. I skimmed through that guide and it looks like it was updated to support HTC's unlock, but doesn't specify what hboot version it is based off of.
Pull your sdcard (with the phone off of course) and it will let you get into fastboot
EVO 3D stuck in HBoot mode, no fast boot
Thank you all for your replies...
Thank you xHausx. It worked.
I guess I need to change the rom now. I will try the steps to do that.
I've found similar threads but nothing exact to my situation if anyone could help..
My Rezound shows:

I keep getting the white screen w/ HTC that seems to go forever but cannot get past that. I do get the "Sorry!" error message stating "The process com.htc.bg has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". This is when that white htc screen takes over..
I am within my 30 days of getting this phone.. please let me know if any tips on fixing or how I can relock the phone and put it back to S-off if I want to return it.... Thanks in advance!
You got 2 options. You can ruu back to stock (make sure you relock) OR you can fastboot recovery and flash a rom.
EDIT: To relock I believe its fastboot oem lock .
What have you done to the phone so far? Is this a factory refresh after unlocking? Do you have Amon Ra on it yet? Have you rooted yet and made a nandroid? If you have a nandroid you can put that back using recovery.
Can you boot into bootloader or recovery?
Hi guys
My friend has a Evo 3D which he wanted to upgrade with a new ROM.
I said I would help him do it and we got started.
By mistake we went on the GSM forum and used this thread for guidance (dumb asses as we were, we didn't know we were supposed to choose CDMA):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535987
Everything went smooth and the ROM was installed with no trouble, that is until we realized that we had chosen a ROM that doesn't support wifi, instead of chosing a right one from the CDMA section
Now since the phone has been rebooted, it has lost S-OFF and we can no longer unlock it in order to change the kernel and the ROM.
When we use revolutionary it says that the ROM version isn't supported at the time and the phone wont let us change anything, it only supports 1.49.0007 and 1.49.0008.
The ROM used is LeeDroid 5.3.0 with Hboot: 1.49.0018
Is there any other way to get the phone unlocked again? We spent about 4 hours last night searching these forums and trying different methods but nothing worked.
I hope you guy can help!
Thanks in advance
If you were s-off then flashing a rom wouldn't remove it. Have you tried to boot into hboot ??? If not do this
Power the phone off.
Then press the volume down button.
Now keep the volume down button pressed.
Now tap or press the power button then release it.
You should see a white screen appear.
When it does write down all the info that you see and then post it here. This will help members better assist you with the issue you currently have.

When booting up to bootloader it says the following:
*** RELOCKED ***
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON EL
HBOOT-1.49.0018
eMMC-boot
Oct 3 2011, 15:03:01
and then the fastboot menu comes beneath this.

Are you sure you have the CDMA EVO 3D from Sprint ? If it is from Sprint, a sim card cannot be placed in it as it does not have a simcard slot.
Does you Evo 3d accepts Sim card?
I asked because ROMs modified by devs do not contain hboot/bootloader. So according to me it is not possible that it changed to GSM ROMs hboot.
It is only possible if you have flashed a RUU/PG86IMG.zip
And as you have posted that it says relocked then it was surely unlocked before which means you have used htcdev.com to unlock it and not revolutionary before.
And it was never S-OFF, if its a GSM phone you can unlock it again using htcdev.com.
Hi!
I am having one hell of a time installing the new 4.0.3 Android (Ice Cream Sandwich) update. Everything was going smoothly, downloaded update, atempted to install, but then it got stuck on the HTC logo loading screen when I first boot the phone.
In this link some one says to install a boot image with this name PG86IMG. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768289
I have tried the method, but i cannot lock my phone (1) and cannot update the phone by using the PG86IMG(2) boot image.
(1) - My hboot dont say nothing about locked or unlocked, it only says
" SHOOTER_U XB SHIP S-OFF RH
HBOOT-1.47.000
Radio-11.25.3504.06_M
OpenDSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0202
eMMC-boot
Hboot
<vol up>...
...etc
"
It has no "locked" or "unlocked" information, is this normal?
(2)- I install the PG86IMG zip file on the sd card , power button + down vol, and starts the hboot , it reads the PG86IMG zip file and it closes the saying "Wrong ID model"... my evo is the gsm.
If the problem is a damaged internal memory, is there any way to repair it?
Thank you!
Do you have the GSM PG86IMG.zip?
I'm gonna guess you were rooted prior to doing the update?
If you do the official ICS update from HTC while your device is rooted and unlocked, you're asking for trouble..
hey guys

I was in the process of rooting the phone.... the bootloader unlock process was simple enough but when i download the Hasoon2000 tool kit things started getting more complicated i flashed the recovery(TWRP 2.1.0) and pressed the permanent root option.
after it did its thing i could not find the SuperSU.zip file anywhere to flash it so i rebooted the phone and after going around for hours through forums i found some people saying to do a full wipe and that should fix the issue.
so i did but i think it deleted all my stock files from factory so now my phone is stuck at the HTC white screen when booting up and no matter what i try doing it isnt flashing anything to try and get it to boot up fully.....
i am not all that knowledgeable on fixing these issues if possible i would appreciate any help.
thanks

If you did a Full wipe and deleted the system, then yes, your device won't boot. What happens when you try to flash something? (Do you get an error, etc.) If no progress is made there, boot into fastboot and run your device's RUU.
