So I've been in a minimalist mood lately. I'm not running gapps. What do I need from Google to use skype and general voice input like on the keyboard. Is it Google voice? If so, does that have any dependencies?
Edit: I guess what I need is Google Voice Search.
2nd edit: hmm... Harder than expected. Since Google Voice was already installed on my Sense ROM I could not download the standalone app. Backing up the system app and applying it via Titanium does not work. Any ideas?
Edit 3: I was really having a "doh" moment. I ended up making a cm backup and installing gapps then backing up the apps I need then returning to my cm backup and restoring apps from titanium including the system app com.Google.android.voicesearch 4.0.0 - everything works just fine now

I recently had to re-image my NC. I tried to restore my Titanium Backup of Google Maps but all it allows me to do is restore the data.....There is no option to restore the app itself.
Can someone post the working Google Maps APK please?
Many THANKS!
Never mind. GMaps 6.01 seems to have fixed NC compatibility issues.
I've recently installed the RC of CM9 along with the most recent gapps available, and my previously installed apps are not being automatically restored. Also, if I try to install an app through the google play website, nothing happens on my phone.
Is there any solution (apart from installing them manually)?
Sorry for the noobish question.
Thanks

Use titanium backup from market to backup/restore your 3rd party apps(market apps)..
Hello,
I was erasing some stuff with titanium backup and I delete intentionally the people app, because I didn't want my phone list on the google account; however deleting people app has broken somehow the dialer too and now I can't use it anymore.
I tryed to delete totally the stock dialer and installing a new one downloaded from google play store but it still doesn't work (I couldn't see while calling).
I tryed to download and use the .apk files from kitkat but none of them works.
My phone is a Moto G and it's rooted.
Could someone please give me a suggestion about what to do?
Thanks in advance!

Ok nevermind, I solved flashing the stock rom with a guide
I just flashed the Barren stock deodexed rom, but there are some apps i cant restore in TiBu. The apps in particular seem to be all of the google apps (chrome, youtube, voice search, et cetera), while others are the LG weather (which i kind of liked), swype, talk back. They appear in Titanum as greyed out with a line through them and when i go to restore them, the restore dialogue box just hangs. What can i do to fix this?

If you need some of the Sprint or LG apps, they won't install. I'd need to add some files for those to work. I think they were in /cust/overlay/apps.

Install them from the play store. They are no longer system apps. Googlesearch/youtube/Gmail and maybe a few others.
So now we should flash a gapps package even on stock Roms?
Hello guys. On KK and LL i always disabled the Google App (google arm).
I usually uinstall it, or freeze it using titanium backup.
On marshmallow, i get a bootlopp when i try to disable/freeze the app.
If i try to uninstall it, it comes back on the next boot.
How han i safely remove the app?
After the bootlopp, NOTHING is able to solve it, only a CLEAN flash. (Not even a dirty flash of any MM ROM + Gapps works. Has to be clean flash)
I HATE the google app, and would love to get rid of it.
Thanks
I also have this problem since using CM13 on my i9300, I thought it was a CM13 problem until I isolated it into freezing APPS via Titanium Backup. You're right it can be the Google App. No way to recover the pone other tan full wipe, I agree.
What I've done is to install the pico OpenGapps package which doesn't include the Google App. I think is the only difference from the nano package. Clean installed, freezed all other APPS I usually do, and no bootloops.
This might help you. Worked for me.
