Alright, so I've got an S-On rooted Rezound and I'm stuck in the boot loop. YES I've read all the posts about logging in and dialing *#etc and also to go into Mobile Network and switch to LTE/CDMA, but I can't dial anything because the phone cuts off before I get a chance, and the LTE switch does nothing. I've tried flashing several different kernels, using the adb method and the PH98IMG methods, I've tried installing several different ROMS, I've done at least 10 different wipes/factory resets, I boot my phone without the cover, SIM card and without the SD card..and I'm still stuck in this boot loop. Someone please help a noob
---- EDIT WITH SOLUTION ----
Here's my "solution" to this issue. I'm sure it's located somewhere in these forums, but I couldn't find it so I imagine others can't either. Essentially, you're going to have to S-Off. Here's the solution:
I believe my recovery started acting funny after I failed to S-Off properly the first time. Amon Ra was all gimmicky and said stuff like "E: can't find cache" and reinstalling the recovery/wiping everything (and I mean everything: external SD, internal SD, cache, partioning SD card etc..) wasn't working. I tried re-installing Amon Ra through command prompt with the adb, I tried reinstalling my ROMS but my phone wasn't having it.
It got to the point all I could boot into was a white HTC screen, so I then tried out Twrp's 2.1 Touchscreen (I wasn't S-Off yet) recovery (I don't have enough posts to post a link yet ) which INITIALLY reported the same "E: can't find cache" errors as Amon Ra, BUT when I wiped my files in Twrp it seemed to actually fix them...I'm not sure exactly what I wiped or formatted that fixed the "E: can't find mount/cache" issues, so try everything.
So my ROM installed but I was still stuck on the white HTC logo. This is where I INSTALLED A NEW KERNEL THROUGH ADB. I wish I knew which kernel I installed, but I have like 10 and I just picked a random one. The point is if you're still stuck at a white HTC screen, install a new kernel.
So I got a recovery on the phone, and then I tried to S-Off again but I didn't have a good ROM installation so that was hanging at the HTC white screen. I then installed CleanROM DE 1.4 and I was able to boot into it, but ran into my initial problem of it crashing after dialing a number and entering infinite reboot. However, it would stay on just long enough for me to run ControlBear's program to S-Off.
So I S-Offed, I downloaded the Gingerbread RUU (the .exe version for Windows), I installed it, and now I can dial numbers and I'm all goodie again. Unfortunately, I honestly think the only way I was escaping my trouble was doing an S-Off, unless they leak a Ice Cream Sanwhich executable for Windows.
TL;DR Install Twerp 2.1 through adb, wipe everything, install CleanROM DE 1.4, install kernel S-Off, run Gingerbread RUU .exe

Have you tried running a RUU to put it back to factory like you just bought it?
I can't tell you how many times I've had to do that to fix stuff.

I think I have downloaded the stock RUU..but just to be sure could you possibly link me to the correct one to run? Also I thought it was impossible to go back down from Ice Cream Sandwhich to Gingerbread?

It is if you're s-on. Also, what did you mean by "P87etc," are you flashing the files properly?

People say a lot of things are impossible, most have the virtue of never being tried.
This is the one I used to fix mine when I screwed up the partitions on my phone. I will warn you, the link in the thread takes you to another site & you have to sign up to download it. Its completely free & legit, but it won't let you download unless you register which is STUPID!

Let me know if that helps
Oh & BTW I was & still am on the ICS leaks when I did this, so you'll be fine. You will lose everything on your phone though, because it wipes everything. But if you can't use it, that's not really an issue I guess.

The PH98IMG file. And I believe I'm flashing the properly..I do it twice; flashboot in adb, it tells me success, I then flash again right there, and then I reboot back to the bootloader and flash again so I do it 3 times in total.
I'm downloading the Vigor executable now. It's going to take a while but I'll report back with my results.

PH98IMG is not going to help you in this situation. You are going to have to download & run the RUU that I linked in the previous post. Trust me on this, not only have I already tried that before, I've blown my phone up enough times to know.

Ok, I went to use the RUU and at first I got error 150, so I read somewhere I should lock my bootloader, so I relocked and now I get error 140, whcih is bootloader verision error. I think that's because I'm on ICS with S-On right? Is there any ICS RUU I can use to restore my phone? I downloaded Vigor_Stock_Doedexed_3.14.605.5 before but it still wasn't working for me.

And as far as this goes yeah you can't use the .exe if your on ICS firmware with s-on and there are no available .exe's for ICS

Unless you are already on the gingerbread build, and it sounds like your not, if you are s-on, it simply will not work. My suggestion is to download the latest leak and that should get you going. If it were me, and I aleady did it, download the latest leak here: http://android.thesmallprint.org/ICS.LEAK.3.14.605.5_PH98IMG.zip. Rename it PH98IMG.zip and put it on your external sd card. Should take less than 10 mins to download. Reboot into bootloader and let hboot install it. Make sure you are locked or relocked. After that is installed either delete or change the name of that file. Reboot into bootloader, unlock, and install either amon ra or tpwr and you can reinstall that rooted rom.
what he said
mikey's comments just previous are totally right, but after install, i would recommend
a factory reset, maybe even twice.
your bootloop problem should be cured then...
I was on the latest ICS firmware running an ICS ROM when I had to run the RUU I gave the link for & it worked fine for me.
Here's my suggestion & you can take it for what its worth.
I would download the latest HBoot & Radios & flash them.
Then if you can get into recovery, wipe everything, manually wipe the system, boot, etc. Then after that try running the RUU.
I just did this earlier in the week & it worked fine & my phone was all screwed up because the partitions were mounting to the wrong places & just all messed up.
I am by no means a dev or an expert, I'm just telling you what I did.
WHATEVER YOU CHOSE, YOU DO AT YOUR OWN RISK, but I don't see where you really have a choice.
Let me know if I can be of anymore help as I know what its like to have a phone that's freaking out on you. You can PM me or post here which ever you prefer. If after that we still can't get it fixed, we'll go find a dev to help us.

Well now my recovery is saying it can't mount various things like "E: can't mount b dev/block/ blah blah"
And I tried flashing my ROM through Amon recovery but it's saying it can't open the file because it's (bad). I formatted the SD card and I'm still getting the issue. Any ideas?
Did you download the one from the link? You don't flash that PH98IMG.zip in recovery, you boot up into bootloader and let hboot find it. If when you get to your bootloader and it is fastboot, use your volume key and select on bootloader option. Then hboot will find it and ask you if you want to install it. Install it. After that, you will then need to reinstall either amon ra or the other but stay away from clockworkmod. But to reinstall the recovery, you will have to unlock again.

I did install in hboot. I then installed Amon so I could flash the ROM and that's what's giving me all those errors.
If all you are after is stock and rooted, try looking at this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642217
Since you ran the PH98IMG that I directed you to, you are now on ICS. So follow the directions in that thread for "S-On and ICS".
Installation for S-ON Devices on ICS firmware
•Copy ROM to SD Card AND PH98IMG.zip to ROOT of SD Card
•Reboot to recovery
•wipe data / Factory Reset
•Flash ROM
•Use Developer Menu to reboot to bootloader and flash the boot.img file in the PH98IMG.zip
•Reboot
•Profit!
Edit: The only change I would recommend is to hold off putting that PH98IMG file from that thread on the sd card right away. You will have a hard time getting to recovery if you have that on the card. I would suggest following all the instructions up to and including "Flash ROM". Then I would "return" back to the main Amon Ra screen, make sure you have the data cable connecting your phone to the computer, select "USB-MS Toggle", then select the SD Card, and that will allow you to copy the PH98IMG file to the SD card. Then continue with the rest of the directions. If you do this right, you should be ok.

It's the actual recover I believe to be giving me the errors, but I'll try what you said in about 2 days (I need to study for finals). It might be because I tried to S-Off and I installed all of that guys software and it might be making the phone act funny. I'll be much more descriptive about my errors when I post back in 2 days.
I fixed it!!
Ok, so I finally got it working, I'll try to detail my steps for anyone else who ran into similar issues:
I believe my recovery started acting funny after I failed to S-Off properly the first time. Amon Ra was all gimmicky and said stuff like "E: can't find cache" and reinstalling the recovery/wiping everything (and I mean everything: external SD, internal SD, cache, partioning SD card etc..) wasn't working. Alright. 3 days and countless hours researching to avoid getting flamed - i've reached my last resort.
I've got an unrooted Thunderbolt on my hands that is stuck in a bootloop. The HTC splash screen is all I can get aside of getting into HBOOT. Factory reset and recovery from the bootloader puts me right back into the boot loop. Ive tried flashing CWM via PG05IMG and it recognizes it but does not prompt me to go through with the install. I can't get ADB to recognize the device because USB debugging is apparently disabled. I have HTC SYNC process/application disabled (tried it enabled as well) and I have revolutionary's HTC driver installed (After it not working prior to its installation -- im getting desperate at this point). I am getting the click noise through my computers audio when I plug in the device to the computer, so I know its at least partially getting recognized - however, I cannot find it in my device manager. Im on WIN7. I have removed SIM and SD. Tried different of each cards. Verified MD5's of all files including the the latest OTA non-root RUU I tried to flash via bootloader (for the record this was my first step to troubleshoot the issue). When I attemped to flash the non-root OTA RUU it checked the file with the little side bar escalating and then brought me right back to the hboot screen with options
Here is the info I have. I was given this phone by someone who didn't want to mess around with trying to get it work, so as far as I know, its not rooted. In fact, im almost positive its all stock, or was. I really hope im missing something silly here. I just can't figure this one out.

Everything you say you are trying to do will not work without root. Can't change the bootloader without it...can't install custom recovery without unlocked bootloader. I might have that backwards, but in any case the only thing that might get you out of looping is to flash a .ruu file in bootloader. If you search the forums, you should find a link to one. A .ruu is a full system image file for the stock vzw t bolt ROM. You will loose all info on your phone (not sd card) but that might do it for you.
remove sd card from phone. back it up and format completely. install into phone.
use the HTC thunderbolt all in one program and see if the phone is recognized. if it is...use it to gain root and s-off. from there you can flash a recovery or go completely back to stock and s-on if you need.
Anyone that could help me out with this, I would be so grateful. I am new at this, this is my very first post, and I'm looking up to you guys as my super hero! I have checked threads for the past 7 hours and cannot find out how to fix the following problem. I have found threads addressing similar issues but always find something that is slightly different and cannot help, I think I have a unique situation.
In a nut shell, my current objective is to restore the phone back to factory settings.
-Phone WAS running on Sense 3.6, ICS 4.0 <-ICS came preinstalled with the carrier
- I succesfully rooted the phone via the 'Hasoon Amaze all in 1 kit', downloaded 4EXT 1.0.0.5RC3, and tried to load the Cyanogen CM 10 jellybean rom
-Where it was stuck on the Cyanogen splash screen
-Figured out it was because my phone was set to S-ON via the bootloader screen, which HTC prevents cutsom roms from loading apparently
-Could not figure out how to remove the CM10 rom from automatically loading up, so I figited around in the 4EXT, and wiped everything
-Current Rom (according to 4EXT is 'Unknown')
Where I am right now:
- Stuck at HTC splash screen
- Only things I can access is the bootloader and 4EXT ( via battery out, volume down at restart)
-Cannot connect the through USB to modify the anything on internal SD card (I cannot access the phones internal drive through the computer)
-Cannot access SD card through 4EXT (it cannot locate it)
-I have tried to factory reset from the bootloader screen - takes me to 4ext. I have tried to factory reset from 4ext, takes me to the frozen HTC logo.
-With not being able to connect via USB, I cannot load anything else (zip files) onto the phone from the computer.
I have no idea what to do now Did I delete some important factory recovery file when I wiped the phone from 4EXT?
The idea was, that I'd install Jellybean as a ROM, I don't like HTC sense, I wanted google now, and I failed. I would REALLY appreciate it IF you can help and are in Toronto, beers on me.

since your phone came ICS preinstalled it'll be a lil easy choose the correct carrier and download the Latest stock ruu from there and Rename the RUU to PH85IMG.zip and place it on the root of your external sd card. Once this file is on the SDcard, do a battery pull, then turn the device back on while holding down the VOLUME DOWN button.once your in bootloader it will prompt you to install, select yes and then it'll flash then flash 4ext after that..when your flashing another rom always run this super wipescript from 4ext..it is IMPORTANT to do a full wipe before flashing another rom..

Hey Ravike - thanks so much for taking the time to help me out. Remember, I am new, so please correct me if I am wrong understanding what you mean in this solution. Do you mean to say to follow these steps;
1) Get an external SD card from a store (I do not have one)
2) Find a way to load the said .zip file on to the External SD card (I cannot transfer the file from computer directly to the external SD card via phone USB connection as it is not showing up as a mounted drive in My Computer - I would have to have a friend put the file onto it some other way), then insert the card into the phone
3) I am a little curious about this one -- And once the file is on the external SD card, load bootloader (on the phone) and bootloader will automatically recognize that this file is on the external SD card and prompt me to install it? (Again I am new, but from what I've seen it just doesn't seem like bootloader has that kind of functionality -- prompting)
4) If step 3 is true, it will end up putting me into 4ext.
-If you confirm these steps, then what happens after I end up in 4ext after step 4)? What happens and where am I in my quest to reset to factory
-If you do not confirm these steps, would you be so kind as to detail where I went wrong?
I just want to as sure as I can before going out to a store and actually buying an external SD card.
Again, thanks SO much for this, I really do appreciate it.

1.yup you have to have a sd card dont buy a huge one even 2GB is enough (i'm using a 2GB for flashing n stuff)
2.well try the option called ''toggle usb storage'' from 4ext it mounts your int n ext sd card on pc aswell if it doesnt work then ask one of your friends or take a card reader or something?
3.well when you boot into bootloader most of the times your in fastboot mode so make sure your in the right mode the option you should be seeing will appear as ''fastboot, recovery, factory rest, clear storage, simlock image crc'' simply all you have to do is go to bootloader option and press power button
4. try it first :good:
Soubds like you dont have smartflash enabled in 4ext... or did I miss that part somewhere?

Hey Again. Still stuck. Just a quick note that my carrier is Mobilicity. Here is what I've done so far since we last talked.
1) I got an external SD card
2) I loaded the file within the link you gave me "OTA_RUBY_ICS_35_S_DAVE_CA_2.14.1800.6-1.45.1800.2_R_release_263099viknauioz1fkgotb.zip" ,and renamed it to "PH85IMG.zip", as you said (I think - this is the zip file in the link Latest stock ruu you provided under Mobilicity) on the root of the external SD card
I note that there is another file in that link under mobilicity named "RUU_Ruby_DAVE_CA_1.45.1800.2_R_Radio_1.09.550L.11v 2DC_30.67.550L.09_release_227348_signed.exe"
3) Bootloader recognized there was a file there and tried to work it's magic but it failed and took me back to boot loader.
Which file do I rename to PH85IMG.zip? The exe or the zip? And what to I do with whatever file happens to be the one that I am not renaming to PH85IMG.zip? And where do I put it?
To answer the other fellow - I have tried enabling smartflash either way. And the CM10 rom is gone now. So is the stock rom. There is no rom running at all. It's just the HTC logo screen and does nothing. I can access Bootloader screen and 4ext through bootloader, but that's it.
THANKS!!!

Thanks Ravike! Still stuck though brother!
1) How to I 'relock the bootloader'?
2) I'm soooo new, what do you mean by 'flash it'? What's the procedure for flashing in this situation?
3) Also, what do I do with the other exe file or is it not important?
4) Is there any settings in 4EXT I need to ensure are on, or mounted or enabled?
Other things to note (may be useful for answer):
- When I rename the zip to PH85IMG.zip and go into bootloader, the following shows up in HBoot:
ph85diag.zip no image!
ph85diag.nbh no or wrong image!
PH85IMG.zip loads up, a blue progress bar eventually finishes, then it says
PH85IMG.zip ... checking
PH85IMG.zip ... parsing
Then it brings me back to the default bootloader screen and back to where we started. This may be where your solution of flashing comes into play of 'relocking' and 'flashing'? I don't know, hope you do!

Okay, somewhat good news (I think)...
I did manage to relock the bootloader in fastboot using the all in one toolkit. It looks like yes, it will send commands via fastboot mode.
In HBoot, It did something differently this time....
It used to say:
ph85diag.zip no image!
ph85diag.nbh no or wrong image!
PH85IMG.zip loads up, a blue progress bar eventually finishes, then it says
PH85IMG.zip ... checking
PH85IMG.zip ... parsing
Now it says:
ph85diag.zip no image!
ph85diag.nbh no or wrong image!
PH85IMG.zip loads up, a blue progress bar eventually finishes, then it says
PH85IMG.zip ... checking <-----this time with a yellow progress bar
Then it takes me back to the bootloader screen.
- tried to hit recovery (which usually takes me into 4ext, and it reboots the phone and back into bootloader)
-Factory reset also reboots the phone and back into bootloader
-If I go into fastboot, and hit reboot it also reboots the phone and back into bootloader
-At one point, I saw the yellow status bar on the HTC logo screen and it took me back into bootloader
-Each time it goes into bootloader, it follows the process of detecting the zip file mentioned above, but then it ultimately puts me back into bootloader
So now, here is where I am,
-The bootloader is relocked
-HTC logo/splash screen no longer freezes, yellow progress bar appears in top right corner and puts me into bootloader
-Cannot seem to access 4ext anymore
-Able to send commands to phone via All in 1 kit 3.2 with phone connected in Fastboot mode
-RUU zip is on External card, which gets read in Hboot, but throws me back into bootloader mode
Keep 'em comin' boys! I'd be so grateful if we could solve this! Are we almost there yet? LOL

Hi I am new to Android. I bought an HTC Amaze 4G by T-Mobiles.
I was playing with the device just to get familiar with options and settings. Made recovery tried a few custome roms and recovered the stock rom twice. Somehow i messed up and bricked my phone (not sure exectly what i did exectly).
Now i when i boot the phone i get stuck on the HTC logo. When i go to recovery mood i goes to the twrp options but i cant flash rom from sd card because it gives me "unable to mount internal storage error". I do perform the 4 wipes before flashing.
The worst thing is i cant even connect it to the PC via usb although i have all the drivers up to date.
PC doesnot recognize the device.
What option do I have before throwing this device into the distbin and get a new one? Will have to ask my dad for extra pocjet money
Please someone tell me the detailed steps as i am not that familiar with all the technical words used in Android world.
Thanks in advance

First off, if you're a newbie why didn't you take the time to read through the threads and familiarize yourself with the device before flashing? Where are you located? Are you sure it's a T-Mobile version Amaze and not an unbranded or Asian version? Are you S-off or S-on? Which ROM were you flashing when things went haywire? Why are you using TWRP when the recovery recommended by most devs here is 4ext with smart-flash enabled?
You've had a bad flash and now recovery is no longer recognizing or mounting your SD partitions, so it's booting into safe mode. You aren't going to be able to use your recovery since safe mode won't flash all of the partitions you need to recover your backup. You're going to need to establish a USB connection and using ADB or the amaze toolkit (which is a GUI for some ADB commands) take control of your device and either push a recovery image or set things up back to stock and start over.
To solve your issue look and read the various "pinned" threads at the top of the forums. The easiest way to recover from this is to go back to the factory image. In one of pinned threads is a link to a page with the stock image downloads. You need the correct one for your device (which is why I asked if you're sure it's T-Mobile). If you flash the wrong image you'll brick your phone. You need to HTC-dev relock your bootloader to flash (s-on or s-off doesn't matter). Do so with the toolkit or using appropriate ADB commands. Once you're relocked and sure as to which device you have, place the image in the root of your SD-card and flash from hboot in the bootloader. When the process is finished you'll have the device returned to factory stock. Then you have to re-unlock the bootloader again and reroot to flash other ROMs.
I hope this helps.

Rename the RUU to PH85IMG.zip and place it on the root of your external SDcard. Once this file is on the SDcard, do a battery pull, then turn the device back on while holding down the volume button. it will prompt you to install, select yes

I see you're s-off from the photos. I've already explained how to recover. You need to download the correct factory image for your device and place it in the root of your external SD card, relock your bootloader, then flash via hboot in your bootloader. Then afterwards you'll be back to stock again. You'll have to accept the OTAs to get back the latest radio Then you can unlock and reroot again. This time use 4ext instead of TWRP. You should be good to go.

I don't know if it was mentioned, but you can always pull the external sdcard and put it in a card reader and copy files from the computer to it.
Then you can boot to bootloader and flash your ph85img.zip

You need to check your devices Forum and also check out the TWRP thread there as well.
This is the HTC Amaze forum and it's been dead for some time now...
Hey all,
I have this HTC EVO 3D that just, refuses to co-operate with me.
Story goes -
Got it on ICS and everything was working fine on it. I looked for updates available and it found a 28MB update that I installed and once the phone rebooted with the update, the camera fails to start and the touch screen just starts going crazy and opening everything, whereas before it fine.
So, I attempted to try and get it back to Gingerbread.
And googled and googled and googled.
Reason why I have opened a new thread is cause it's sort of everything going weird with it.
Of course, trying RUU files and trying to flash RUU in zip failed so on so forth.
I had unlocked the Bootloader and S-ON is on at this point. Also had CWM recovery installed and was able to boot into that.
With this in place, I read up on the wire trick and thought, yeah it seems a bit hard, I'll take it to a phone repair shop, where they had the phone for 2 weeks and told me that it was S-OFF and back to stock.
Since they had it and I got it back, it's now stuck in a boot loop and I can not get into any recovery etc (With the original SD Card in it). Can get to Bootloader and fastboot though.
Spent the last 3 hours with about 20 tabs in Chrome opened on how to exactly go from here and I am stuck.
Got a Linux Laptop here and tried to ControlBear and it comes up with ADB and Fastboot not found (Directory points to it being in tmp..no idea)
TL;DR
HTC Evo 3D (Australian Variant, was running ICS Telstra OEM)
Unlocked Bootloader
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.53.0007
eMMC-boot
Radio - 11.25.3504.16 M
Boot Loops, No Recovery, Fastboot commands work on windows.
So just wondering, where do I go from here. I don't know if the device is completely bricked now or if it can be saved.
(I tried a number of zip files on the SD Card (PG86IMG.zip) and nothing due to having S-ON.
Hoping someone can provide a procedure or point me in the right direction.
As reference, I used this thread mostly before it was taken to the Repair Shop and got stuffed.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Hello my friend, the reason you can't load the pg86img is because you have unlocked bootloader. The fastboot commands could help us a lot, did you follow the controlbear instructions in the correct order? I think there is a way through windows with exe files I don't remember well because I did S-OFF 3years+ before. If you want we can try together some time. If you want for start we can flash 4ext recovery and a custom rom so your phone can boot.

Hi there, I didn't know with having the bootloader unlocked that it would cause any issues, but there you go!
Yeah, if there's a guide to flashing the 4EXT Recovery and a custom rom that would be great!
I have a fair idea of how to do it, but don't want to try anything without having someone of greater knowledge point me in the right direction
Thanks!
Just an update, I did come across a thread to flash 4EXT Recovery onto my Evo 3D.
Put Recovery.img into my platform-tools folder, used the fastboot command, it said sending and OK.
Selected recovery and still boot loops. No idea where to go from here now

Sorry for being late, I had some problems with my internet connection. Can you boot into recovery? Power button + Vol- and choose recovery, if you can boot tell me first which version you have and second what type of rom you want to have.

Hey there,
That's OK, I don't mind the wait, it's all good!
I can boot into Fastboot, but when I choose recovery/factory reset etc, it shows the HTC Logo and then goes into a bootloop.
As for the ROM, I want to get the original GB ROM for it because when I updated it to the latest ICS that's when the camera and touch started to get weird, whereas beforehand it was fine.
So thinking, if I go back down to GB Stock, that it should be all fine again, but I am not too sure on that one.
Thanks!

Well, we have to downgrade the hboot version first. Did you do the wire trick procedure right? You can download a pg86img and flash it first to fix the bootloops. First lock the bootloader. When you finish this report here. I have to sleep it's late here and I work early. I'll send you tomorrow. See you.

Ok, the technician I took the phone to supposedly did the wire trick for S-OFF, but, it's still S-ON.
I have downloaded a lot of stock PG86IMG files before posting on here and none work, they scan when in bootloader and then nothing after that.
But that would be because I haven't locked the bootloader. So in saying this, I lock the bootloader following steps on many forum posts on here, then flash a .zip file that's correct and then it should all work?
I'll wait for your response, thanks!

I do not think that the wire trick procedure was correct because you are still s on. Lock the bootloader and try to load the zip.

Hey, so I tried a P86IMG.zip from this thread here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274635
I couldn't find another one and with that I get an error "Main Version Fail" or "Main Version Check Fail".
I then tried RUU and RUU in zip format.
RUU comes back with wrong bootloader error. (I couldn't find an RUU that matched my radio version so I went with the nearest one)
RUU Zip comes back through fastboot with "remote 43 main version check fail"
Also I tried to do the Wire Trick and got stuck at the "ADB and Fastboot not found" even though the files are there and the phone is connected.
So still a little bit...stuck :\
Also relocked bootloader it just says relocked now.
If you need any other additional info I can send screenshots of what it's at.
Thanks!

Did you try flashing the zip after the locking? You are doing the wire trick procedure on live linux cd?

If you want we can do the procedure together some time. Keep in mind that you have to unlock again. We can search for the windows version too.

Oh that would be extremely helpful, I can use Linux, but prefer my Windows PC as it has all the files and it's just easier.
Thanks so much!

So update -
DK sent me the windows version of ControlBear via PM - thank you.
Have an unlocked bootloader.
I tried ControlBear, and because I can not boot into the OS, I start it at Fastboot USB, it reboots, then says "Connecting to Device", then "Testing ADB connection" then "Press Enter To Exit" and that's it, can't do anything else from there, and it gets stuck in the boot loop that it still has.
Tried again to google for methods for HBOOT 1.53, and am trying some of those methods, but it's not looking good at all.
I haven't even got to the stage where it asks me to do any sort of wire trick.
Also my battery in the EVO 3D has died so am using a battery out of a HTC MyTouch 4G with help from electrical tape :\
So now, any suggestions? I am trying to flash another RUU that's stock for my Radio (Well, it's close enough - RUUs are both 11.25.3504.06, mine is 11.25.3504.16)
EDIT: Tried all RUUs with relocked bootloader and comes back with bootloader error (ERROR 140). So, no idea.
Also it's scanning for PG86DIAG.img files on the SD Card - that's not normal is it.
Do you think we should give up on it, it's probably hard bricked and dead now
I think it's literally hard bricked and no way to bring it back from the dead.
As per my original post, all the details for the phone are there. And it sucks that I can't find a correct RUU for my phone (As it was Telstra AU - latest update of ICS)
AHH I don't know.

First of all you should be unlocked now with 1.53 hboot. Download from here the latest 4ext recovery (4EXT_Recovery_Touch_v1.0.0.6_RC3)
It's in my mega account don't worry about malicious software I downloaded it 5 minutes before doing this post. If you don't have unlocked your bootloader do it with the tokens HTC sent you in your email. Flash this recovery from fastboot (fastboot flash recovery "recoveryname".img). After that remove the battery and re-enter fastboot mode (Vol down+power button) and choose recovery. If you manage to boot into recovery from there tell me to send you a link for a rom to flash. I don't believe its a hard brick.

Hey there, thanks for the help again, unfortunately, still didn't work.
I unlocked the bootloader again. Then tried to flash what you said, it said "writing" then "successful". I pulled the battery and tried to boot into recovery and just loops

Try doing:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery "recovery".img
fastboot format system
fastboot format boot
And if it still doesn't let me send you a boot.img in some minutes to try flashing it.
EDIT: And something last, you can still do the controlbear trick while not in OS, its easy if you wanna try let me know.

Hey all,
I have this HTC EVO 3D that just, refuses to co-operate with me.
