4g wont work on l9, on this phone you can use 3g(internet) segnal or 2g(sms and calls)
to use 4g you must have a phone that support this tecnology(HARDWARE)

Please make sure that after unlock boot loader you flash your original kdz back by offline method. I think it a incorrect baseband problem.

Yea my t-mobile L9 (P769) uses 4g as well, however I do not believe they are LTE capable (correct me if im wrong). Many people think 4g and lte are the same. However they are not.
my phone is lte capable. 4g LTE

That is not true. Not a single LG optimus L9 variant regardless of model or network supports LTE. However they are capable of running 4g just not 4g LTE. The 4g runs off HSPA+ not LTE. Even the LG optimus L9 II uses HSPA+ for the 4g network.
T-Mobile USA seems to define 4g their way. Something like gsm, umts, hspa & cdma, that makes four.

Thats all the radio bands the device can pick up. 4g acctually runs off the hspa. If you change your prefered network to gsm/cdma or umts only or auto it will not connect to 4 g. In order to connect to 4 g you must select hspa+ auto or wcdma+ auto. I couldnt connect to 4g when i first got my phone and its because the prefered network was set to gsm/cdma (auto). I get the best speed on wcdma+(auto). That will make it connect to the fastest radio band available. My phones a t-mobile but I unlocked it and switched to at&t because tmobiles data speed was horrible. I would average .20 mbps - 2.25 mbps (bits not bytes) with tmobiles 4g. On at&t I get 12mbps to 25 mbps and have even got as high as 40mbps right in town. Thats just in my area however, im sure tmobile has good speed in certain areas. After switching to at&t it made me miss my lg p870 I gave my girl because its LTE and she gets anywhere from 20-50mbps!?

Is there a way to use all 3 networks because 4G is now in my area and it would be nice if i could use that network for better speeds. But it seems that most roms are either GSM and 3G or 4G and Wimax is there any solution?
I don't think you understand the question your asking.

If you have a 4G capable GSM phone in America on a carrier such as T-Mobile or AT&T you can have 3G and 4G
If you have a 4G capable CDMA phone in America on a carrier such as Sprint or Verizon you can have 3G and 4G/LTE
GSM means the phone uses a SIM card.
CDMA phones don't use SIM cards.

In Australia we have Vodafone,Optus, etc that offer 2G (GSM) and 3g (WCDMA).
But Telstra Australia's biggest carrier now has 4G as well. I thought that maybe to access this new network I was restricted by the rom I am using, not the sim card. Because of the two different type of roms ie GSM and CDMA. Or is all controlled via my carrier?

your "4G" isn't really 4G, it's 3.5G.
It's still HSPA (WCDMA), just a faster version and your phone already supports taht. It will say either E(edge), 3G or 4G/H+
IF it is LTE that you are talking about Telstra getting, the 3vo does not support that network, there isn't an LTE radio on the device so no possible way for you to access it.

Find out if the phone supports the bands the carrier uses. Most carriers use their own bands. like an ATT device will not 3g or 4g on Tmobile. and vice versa

Well I know the phone works on my network what I need to know is will it get the same download and upload speeds as the T-Mobile variant I know they won't get the att speeds cause they use LTE T-Mobile does not use LTE so it could work with full data speeds but I am not sure

As long as it supports the same bands then yes it will get pretty much the same speeds.
My phone is a Bell Galaxy note i717, I recently flashed to the OnlyOne Beta 2.
Phones work perfectly but it is displaying 4G at the signal bar. does 4G = LTE? or idoes 4G = HSPDA+ for Bell?
So basically I want it to stay away from LTE.
I have already done the *#2263# trick to lock it to WCDMA atm, does this lock it away from LTE? Thanks.
I am worried about the battery life taking a hit.
tried search but I can't really find anything.
I just found that it displays either 4G or 4Glte
4G I am guessing would mean HSPA+ right?
thanks

You are correct.
This is my first time having a 4G T-Mobile device. I managed to turn off the 4g, but is there an option to use 3G on these phones? Are 2G and HSPA+(besides wifi)the only options we have?

L9 is not 4G (LTE) device. It seems T-Mobile is giving marginally faster 3G (HSDPA) and calling it as 4G (LTE). L9 does not have LTE hardware at all. Check manual by LG, they never call it 4G device. Seems T-Mobile is trolling with its customers since long time with this term though their speed is good.
I never thought it had LTE. From trying a speed test, the speed was comparable to Sprint wimax. I still call it 4G even if it's not "true 4g". Thanks for the clarification, that's understandable.

The sad truth is Sprint's wimax and the currently deployed LTE iterations aren't 4G either. T-Mobile's LTE rel. 10 will be 4G.

Ok, I'm buying a G3 thats for Verizon but for my T-Mobile service. I want to flash roms etc and I'm coming from a unlocked T-Mobile Note 2. Anything I should know before I buy it? Is it fine with T-Mobile?
T-Mobile runs on GSM network and Verizon runs on CDMA so the two won't work.

Don't give false information if you have no idea what you're talking about? If this information were true, how am I using a Verizon G3 on ATT with LTE?
The Verizon G3 is unlocked so it will work on either T-Mobile and ATT. It picks up LTE and HSPA+ on both networks. But LTE depends on what frequency is used in your area.

Alright, you got it
LTE on band4 works fine on the vs985 on both T-Mobile and Cricket pre-paid. H+ gsm works as a fallback, too. Verizon phones have had GSM radios since at least the Droid3, if they were "World Phones", like ALL current LTE models are. Verizon used to require a code be entered before GSM would work, and even then no USA GSM networks would work. But that's all in the past.

Actually it will work. I'm using mine on T-Mobile now. 4g lte is limited since verizon g3 only supports one band thats compatible with tmobile. But hspa+ or regular 4g works, spa or 3g works edge gprs all of those work.
