I purchased my Lumia off of Craigslist with a broken screen. I've had the device for close to a month and it was never having an issues. Recently, it has been freezing at random times. Often it freezes when I'm using the Music hub it even freezes when I try to turn the device off. I have factory reset it three times and all times I have started fresh and not from back up and yet the issue seems to keep coming back. Its not WIFI because I'm not always on WIFI when it happens. It is also saying that I don't have enough memory to sync when I go into my email. It was not doing this until after I factory reset it the first time. How do I fix this? Please help

Well I think I've created a disaster here.. sorry for the long story... It's been a LONG day.
I thought it was a cool idea to switch from the HD7 unlocked on Wind Mobile to Telus Mobility just to get the Titan. So I bought an AT&T Titan on eBay, unlocked it, got setup with Telus and was ready to roll..
Everything appeared to be going smoothly and as soon as I popped in the Telus sim card it read 4G on my screen, data worked great, voice calls perfect and I was smooth sailing.
Well just when I had to setup my phone to 99% completion ONE stubborn XBL game refused to install (PvZ). Kept asking me to retry or check my data connection even though I was on wi-fi.. So I cancelled it and retried about 10 times with no luck. Finally I gave up and did a soft reset. Well the phone stuck on "goodbye" for more than 5 min so I pulled the battery. Turned it back on at it sat at the HTC screen and would not boot past it. I pulled the battery another 10 times and same thing. So I left it over night hoping it would boot past it eventually but it only ended up draining my battery. In the morning I had to do a hard reset (holding the volume buttons) but weirdly after it did that it vibrated a bunch of times and just sat on a white screen. Again I pulled the battery. Then it did a fresh boot and the whole setup came on.
Well I went through doing my thing again... setting up, installing apps etc. But then apps stopped installing. Started getting errors saying to check my data connection again or try later. Somehow my data connection disappeared and I had to set the APN for data manually. Weird.
Well long story short is nothing has been working right. I keep hitting roadblocks during configuration and setup and end up hard resetting. Hard resets using the volume buttons always do the same thing.. cause the phone to vibrate a bunch of times and white screen and stays there. Hard resets within settings work ok as normal. But I keep getting different results. Like sometimes it will ask me to set the region and timezone on setup, and other hard resets wont. One reset caused Google to believe it was an iPhone I was using as it was clearly the iPhone version of Google home page.
And in the Marketplace sometimes I have US apps available in my region since I shouldn't and sometimes I don't. But now everytime I hard reset I don't have access to ANY HTC apps. If I go through the HTC Hub and try to get one it says it's not available in my region. Yet on my HD7 on Wind Mobile I had all of them and even did a hard reset or 2 and still got them back.
HTC Titan Forever Goodbye
While my problem is much different, there was one commonality that compelled me to post. I have an HTC Titan on AT&T and last night I was attempting to install one game and update another but it was giving me the "connect to wifi" error like you got. I tried to force it 10 or so times and it eventually worked.
However, this morning my maps would just sit at "Loading" and the phone was unresponsive at times. So I reset the phone and when I got to work the icons for most of my tiles wouldn't load, my and various other apps would crash or just sit at "loading". I didn't do any hard resets but I pulled the battery and still the same crap and trying to shutdown normally just resulted in "goodbye".
Since I am going to be sitting at my desk all day I decided I had the time to be more stubborn than the phone and just let it sit at "goodbye" for about 5-7 minutes before it actually rebooted.
EDIT: I just discovered that the app i started updating last night only made it 30%
Hello,
I have an international unlocked Samsung Galaxy S III (GT-I9300) that is no longer in warranty and that started behaving strangely (unresponsive) a couple of weeks ago on Android 4.1.2 (official ROM, rooted with CF-AutoRoot).
After reading several threads here on XDA I believed it was subject of Sudden Death. So I started with a factory reset and rooted the phone again with CF-AutoRoot but after that I still experienced the same freezes and started my mission to try and resolve this using whatever method was required.
I starting with trying the DFG app but to no avail. The freezing was provoked but did not go away after many days of iterations and freezes (it always recovered out of a freeze).
Next I tried the eMMC check app to verify on what version I was so that I could help my in further pinpointing the problem. It said I was safe, but while running that app the phone freezed again but this time the screen turned purple/pink and it did not recover from the freeze after several hours until I finally removed the battery. The purple/pink turned into purple/pink with black lines and after removing the battery I could not power on the phone.
In all desperation I started trying out different "SDS-safe" custom kernels, ROMs and bootloaders (all flashed using Odin on my laptop) but the problem did not go away. In fact, I discovered a very strange correlation between the time that I leave the battery out the phone and the time it takes before the purple/pink freeze occurs again.
If I wait half an hour, put the battery back in the phone and boot it (in whichever mode) it would freeze/flicker/die after about 20 seconds. If I would wait several hours, put the battery back in the phone and boot it it would freeze/flicker/die after a solid 1 or 2 minutes.
Whether the phone is connected to the laptop or not makes no difference. I also tried with a different battery but the same behavior occurs.
After waiting a solid day, in still in act of desperation, I decided to flash the leaked 4.2.2 (I9300XXUFME7) official ROM. But even after a factory reset and wiping of cache I found that the problem still remained.
Now I believe I've tried almost everything I've found on these forums I'm not sure what I can still do. It seems it's not battery, ROM, kernel or bootloader related and it also does not seem a case of Sudden Death (I never heard mention of the purple/pink flickering, and it also never snaps out of the freeze; also the strange correlation between battery out of the phone and time before it freezes is something I haven't read about).
From all the research I've done I've not encountered anyone with the same symptoms (does not wake out of freeze, purple/pink lines appear on screen when freeze starts and keep flickering for hours, there seems to be a correlation between the time the battery is out of the phone and how long I have before it freezes again when I turn it on) and I'm running out of ideas.
I believe it is hardware related (but not a screen issue) rather than software related because the USB connection with the laptop disconnects when it freezes, purple/pink flickering and no recovery; but I have no idea what options I still have.
Before I give up on the phone does anyone have any recommendations of what I can try before sending it to a Samsung repair center?
Attached are 4 pictures to show the typical process after waiting ~4 hours and powering on the phone:
Phone boots OK
The phone freezes and a purple/pink overlay appears
More and more flickering making the screen turn more and more purple/pink
The screen seems to be divided in 4-5 parts
Everything is pink and black lines start to appear
Thank you for your time.
I'd say you need a new motherboard or screen, possibly both - you've ruled out any software causes.
just had this issue
Did you find a solution, given the fact that this happened a long time ago?
I was watching a video and my screen turned pink like the 4th photo you posted.
Now it wont work, get the pink screen everytime is turned on.

Starting last night my 3 day old V10 has begun rebooting itself randomly. It happens when I text, look at images in the gallery, reading Facebook or Reddit, taking pictures.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? What could be the cause of it? And how do I stop it from happening?

I'm looking at the V10 for a upgrade from Verizon now that I'm off contract. Haven't seen this discussed as a V10 issue from my research. My current phone has a removable battery that started randomly rebooting. Maybe the battery is not seated properly. Try shutting it off, take off the back cover, pull and re-seat the battery after checking the contacts.
I'd take that badboy back to the VZ store for an exchange
Try uninstalling any sketchy apps then do a factory reset.
Take it back, get a replacement
Hey what did you do to resolve this? I have the same issue
also maybe it was just me but i noticed it when i was charging my phone. On a side note have you noticed when charging the phone and the screen off, the second screen maybe every 25 seconds blinks for a split second?
I am also having the same problem. I just got off the phone with LG product support. The lady I talked to said she had not had any calls regarding this issue yet. She recommended putting the phone in safe mode to see if its a downloaded app that is causing it or if that does not work to do a factory reset on the phone. She really didn't have any idea though. I don't think the safe mode approach will be any help but i might try a factory reset.
Factory reset doesnt work either it still reboots on its on. Mine is off and cant come back on
hi all,
i have a very unusual freezing problem that is driving me nuts. i have read loads of posts about people using dummy file generator, clearing defaults, factory resetting etc. but my problem remains after all of the above.
here is what happens with my device.
device is galaxy s3(gt-i9300)
running stock vodafone branded but open to all networks 4.3
baseband i9300buugnf1
build number jss15j.i9300xxugnh4
the problem started back in october last year. the screen would freeze and the only way of getting it back would be to hold the power button in for about 10 secs, or pulling the battery. i tried leaving it overnight to see if it would unfreeze itself, but no joy.
this was just occasionally to start off with, but has now become too frequent to allow the phone to be usable. sometimes the phone would go for about 20 mins without a freeze, but other times it would freeze after just a couple of mins.
sometimes, when i reboot the device, it freezes on the samsung logo, but the logo still pulsates as if it is still booting up. but never does. it also freezes when turned off and charging. i have to hold the power button in for about 10 secs again to get it to start up.
the phone is out of warranty. i did have a problem with the phone over a year ago and sent it away to samsung, where they changed the motherboard as it was force closing all my apps. but just after a year of it working perfectly, this happens. it seems samsung have put a self destruct timer on their devices. lol.
has anyone had the same sort of problems, if so did you manage to fix the problem?
any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Purchased a Tab S3 from B&H in early January. It came with T820XXU1AQI2. Everything worked fine, absolutely no issues. When T820XXU1ARA2 was made available in early February, I allowed it to install. The install occurred without issue, and initially the tablet appeared fully functional. Now, two problems have manifested themselves.
#1. If the tablet is idle for several hours -- usually more than 18 or so -- wi-fi simply quits working. The tablet appears connected to wi-fi, but has lost its IP address and can't obtain one. Occasionally, simply switching wi-fi off and back on will sort things out, but not usually. Occasionally enabling and disabling airplane mode works, but not usually. Most times I need to reboot the device.
#2. The power switch becomes ineffective. This happened the first time today. I tried to wake the tablet from sleep, no response. I plugged in the charger, which woke the tablet up. I couldn't get the power button to do anything, no matter how many times I pressed it or how long I kept my finger on it. I was able to force the tablet to reboot by pressing and holding power plus volume down for several seconds. Now the power button is working properly again.
Anyone else seeing these or similar issues? Do they sound like software problems or is my hardware malfunctioning? The tablet is still within its warranty period, perhaps I should phone Samsung and arrange a replacement. (No, I haven't resorted to factory reset just yet. Reconfiguring everything is such a pain...)
I can state unequivocally I have not seen either of these issues. In fact I just woke up my Tab S3 to check after it has been asleep for almost 2 days. WiFi is still running and connected and the power button is working. I'd contact Samsung if the factory reset doesn't work (do a Google backup before the reset and it should be able to restore a lot of your configuration... note this has not worked well for me in the past but apparently it has been improved).
I have not seen these issues either. You could try going back to AQI2 to see if there issues persist.
