Broke my screen quick question though - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

So I broke the screen on my Note II. It doesn't look like the outside screen is damaged just the lcd screen. I was gonna buy a replacement with both screens, but that's not cheap. Not only is it expensive, but it seems to also be quite hard to accomplish successfully. So I'm asking has anyone replaced their screen? And if so was it successful? Are their any reputable businesses that I could use? Thanks.

scratches on the screen?

How does one go about removing them? I've done a google and XDA-Forums search and found that there are numerous answers all seemingly discounted by any number of people:
toothpaste, no good for capacitive screens
Displex sure, THEY say it's good for the TP2, but so many people say not
So, anyone have any ideas.
And, yes, I know, screenguards are great and the holy grail. I don't have one. So, please, I know I am asking for a cause that I probably could have prevented, but every time I put a screenguard on my device, it was much too mushy and I tried a lot of them.
Thanks in advance.
I would also like to know how to remove the scratches on the screen. The screen guards make the touch screen less sensative. Theres got to be some type of wax or something.
I've used the screen guard that came with my TP2 since day one. My screen is still pretty darn sensitive....
I have skinomi on my tp2 and although it takes alot of patience to put it works flawlessly...ive tried scratching it with keys and the thing just wont scratch!! its awesome..its a bit on the expensive side if you get the entire skin for the phone like i did but its worth the money in my opinion.
go to skinomi.com
I guess T-Cut might work, i used it on my dads samsung and it cleared up the screen some.
When i was a kid we used to wear swatch watches which always got scratched up, we used to use Duraglit made by Brasso which is a metal polish wadding...kinda like cotton wool with a light abrasive in it, which worked wonders!
Something with very light abrasive properties(like toothpaste) should do it but watch out for any solvents and chemicals in the product that may react with or even MELT the plastic!!!!!
most things like T-Cut scratch remover just take a lot of time and patience.
I anything works for you re-post and let us know!
Actually Displex tells you not to use its product on resistive touch-screens.
Anyway, I just ordered iDrops about a week ago and have been trying it for the last day with no results, at all. I've tried variable amounts of pressure, dozens of applications as the instructions say and I've only hurt my phone. All it does it put a strange texture on your phone that makes it grainy and more susceptible to scratches. Even my stylus scratches the phone, now! I had to use a wet cloth to get the graininess away.
My recommendation is not to bother with iDrops. It seems to not work for the TP2.
Hmm, its just an idea but I've been repairing my windscreen today using special resin that cures in direct sunlight. I must say it works pretty well, it's hard to notice the repair. I would try t-cut or other mild abbrasive to get rid of light scratches and fill really bad ones with that resin. Next comes a good screen protector to hide any imperfections.
thanks, but WHAT website

I see your post, yet, I have no idea what website to which you refer. Nevermind, didn't realize it was in your header.
Why do you not send instructions with the order? IF you're selling replacement parts why then must a customer have to contact you for replacement instructions?
He is just advertising himself. Just find the best price on buy it, you can find the HTC service manual on google.
Not disputing that fact

Just questioning that if they sell the parts, why must the instructions be emailed separately?
Bumping because I need the same thing resolved...
Questions:
1) Anyone know a good, semi-reputable site to replace the front screen.
2) Is the front plastic considered part of the LCD Screen, or do they come apart separate? (The scratch on my phone is purely on the outer-most section of the screen, with no damage to the image display) -- I ask as some phones i've seen have an "LCD Display" followed by a "Cover Screen")
3) Regardless of #2's answer, what am I looking to buy (The technical/semi-technical name)? Closest I've seen is LCD Digitizer, but I'm not sure if i need that component or the LCD Screen.... cover.... portion..
Unfortunately the part i saw was $124, and I happen to have insurance on the phone if it does indeed get that expensive, but I just hope the parts are separate ;-)
Thanks,
-Lee

I am nearly positive you do not need to replace the LCD. You only need a new digitizer (that is the name of the layer that recognizes touch) which you can find for around $25 online!

Correct me if I'm wrong but changing this digitizer would void warranty if I were to change it myself ? ?
Go to At&t and see if they will replace it for you if you buy the digitizer. If not ask At&t or find a reputable place that does, ive seen for around $50 which was suggested to me by at&t. It's worth the money trust me! When I had my old LG Incite, I tried replacing the digitizer because my screen was scratched and ended up breaking the lock and camera buttons as well as the touch screen. Since then every phone i've had gets a case and screen protector from the day I lay eyes on it. If the case and screen protector are their after I get my phone I wont use it till their on. Scratches just annoy me but I guess i'm just odd lol.

[Q] Disply or just the Plastic over it broken

Hi all
I dont know if its my Display that is broken or the plastik that is on it.
Can someone please help me with that ?
Thanks for the Help
as far as I know plastic doesn't really break. I'm not sure, but I'd say the glass of the LCD is broken.
your display is broken.
there is a guide of how to change it, but its quite complicated.
if you don't have insurance it will be probably cheaper to buy an HD2 on internet....

It's true, LCD's are quite expensive, if you can, go for HD2 or similiar.
Does the display light or shows any image?
100% the touchscreen is broke (it is made out of 3 layers, 2 plastic layers and one glass layer which is about 1 mm thick- this one breaks). Also, the lcd underneath might also be broken, as in your photos I'm seeing some tiny black lines under the touchscreen, correct me if I'm wrong.
On ebay, the cheapest pre-assembled lcd+touch unit costs about 70 $.
you should find pre assambled screen and lcd, easier to install
there are guide on vimeo on how to diassemble and reassemble Touch HD, make sure
u only play around with what suggested, not anything else..
good luck

[Q] Screen Part Question

My touch pro 2 (gsm) is scractched on the screen and it has dead pixels if you want to call it that.
I need to know what part of the screen needs to be replaced, I was thinking the LCD. But Let me know please & I need a good screen protector brand to apply to it when I replace the screen

You should look for an lcd and digitizer assembly for easier installation. They are out there just search a bit. Make sure you get the appropriate one for your model.
If you looking to replace both the top glass & the LCD for the dead pixile best option to look for it thru Ebay you can find time reasonable price. It would be the LCD & the digitizer combo which is what your looking for. Hope this would help.
By "reasonable prices" Are u saying $50 or like 20 because Im looking on ebay and some sellers are selling like lcd for like $25 etc
It's more expensive, but more worthwhile and simpler to purchase the LCD and digitizer together. Otherwise, it's a long and tedious process of marrying the two of them. I've done it twice before, and won't do it again. I found it to be well worth the extra money to just get them together.

[Q] Digitizer replacement

My phone has developed a digitizer problem in that a vertical strip (approx 15mm) is completely unresponsive, and sometimes the screen goes a bit haywire (continously zooms in when web browsing or in a document). Have tried resetting the phone, and reflashing the ROM, but the problem persists.
Does anyone have any experience when with regards to replacing the digitizer, and would like to share their experiences? I.e. Is there anything which I should be made aware of, such as specific rookie errors? Have looked up some Youtube videos, so I think I'm fairly clued up, but thought I'd call in on the experts before I take the plunge!

They look nice the zenfone that is will have to buy a sd card for it down side no internal memory or atleast none you can use. besides that actually looks very nice. wonder how long before you can buy one right now it says ask dealer about availability so im guessing 3 to 6 months. digitizer $15.00 and then he can sell phone for $50 to $75 dollars if he chooses to later once it finally hits stores
Yeah, but with sd cards being inexpensive (I just got a 8gb class 4 microsd for $50, about U$S10) it isn't really a downside. If you maage to get an replacement for the digitizer, buy it. as overboard says, you can sell the phone at a higher price if you decide to buy another.
OP, I had the same problem, I warn you, once you detach the digitizer from the phone, before you actually remove it, dettach the lcd also, that way, when you must remove the flex and pass it through, the gap will be larger and you wont have to bend the flex, avoiding the risk of damaging it. Digitizer and lcd are meant to be extracted together. Also, be very careful when you detach the digitizer, as dointg it hard can remove the glue strips and let the dust enter the screen. that's what happened to mine, glue strips got broken at the bottom corners, and now the capacitive buttons' light pass thru it, to the screen and dust enters and I can't see sh*t
Thanks guys. From what I've read, most people appear to experience problems either during or after the upgrade, so even though a replacement digitizer should only set me back £15, it could be more hassle that it's worth...
This could be a good opportunity to upgrade

Glass, digitizer and LCD. Where to buy?

Phone was dropped today. The touchscreen no longer works and the screen is cracked. There is also what looks like a black liquid from the LCD. I therefore believe I must replace the LCD, digitiser and glass screen. I was just wondering where the best place to buy them from as I feel like I should avoid AliExpress and others alike. Although I dont want to spend to much.
Do all 3 come in one unit? For example if I get an OEM Screen Replacement for the S9, it will include LCD, digitiser and glass screen?
Thanks, all help is appreciated
I just checked over at Samsung. For the S9+ screen and digitizer $229. I did a guick search and found some for a low as $169.. Best to go OEM if you ask me, especially if you plan on keeping it for a while, and want it to work correctly.
Aftermarket frame and screen setups are rarely OEM quality. despite most of the claims. I would only buy samsung direct
