HTC one 4.3 to GPE - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I was just wondering if you can still convert your HTC one into the GPE if I just updated to 4.3? Its not rooted completely stock.

Funny I was being ready to ask a similar question, want to convert but not sure if I should do it now or wait for the 4.4 release

Lol exactly I mean I love my phone its the first I had that I haven't rooted after having it for 2 weeks.

Yeah I'm wondering the same thing...I have the 1.27.531.11 OS and HBOOT 1.44 (dated June 21). Is there anything I should do before taking the 4.3 OTA or can I do everything (S-OFF, changing CID, converting to GPE, etc) after that?

ROM based off RUU better than OTA?

So I saw that as soon as the OTA for Jellybean was released there were ROMs already released on here, but the RUU hasn't been released yet and then as soon as the RUU got released everyone's moving it onto that. Is there something that makes basing it off of the RUU better? Should I do a complete wipe before flashing then new RUU version before I use?

Do you have a link to this RUU by any chance?

No, I thought I just saw that Chubbz released their new version and it said it was based off the RUU, but this is also a question
Just got off phone with HTC customer service and tech support and after talking for about 15 mins about issues/eta's etc, the rep told me that the ruu is not available to the public yet. It will take 1-2 months after the ota updates for the elte, one series to jelly bean before they post any ruu's for the phones, that way they can keep an eye on reports of issues and work them out before posting the ruu files. My suggestion is to call and let them know all the issues each of us is having with ota so they can start looking into it asap....eg: nav, features not working, signal, etc. Just my 2 cents.
Edit:and I'm also curious to hear what each person has found out about differences in the ota based and supposed leaked ruu based roms. Any issues go away/come up?

RUU has been officially released everyone!

Rom AT&T 1.19.502.1-stock

I made this rom im no dev and dont claim to be htc encrypts the rom zip in the ruu so i had to decrypt it on my computer to open up the file thanks to ruuveal if anyone is interested this is a deodexed stock ROM base built from the new updated AT&T 1.19.502.1 RUU Decrypted extracted ROM.zip if you are already updated and want a ROM base wipe cache factory reset. will update this soon to new 4.22.rom
This has already been posted in Android development. Please search before posting.
Thanks for the hard work anyways.
What's that got to do with my ROM I posted here dude..this is real ROM created from RUU not nandroid made like ones ur talking about the ones posted before RUU was released

Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
I just made the ROM from the ruu ROM zip rooted it deodexed framework and system app apks zip aligned its all there just like a fresh ruu restore
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
Well thanks for the correction. Maybe release another version without bloatware. =)
I'm working on that but so far till I can compile the kernel I'm looking for to not loose the speed of this ROM or any others I have tested its hard to justify the work involved in building a ROM that's unstable and slower but thanks for info

Any bloatware is easy to remove with root explorer its really a base to build from or not and is a little higher bench marks then what I had before

Yeah thanks I've removed them with 7zip on my PC before flashing it.
So I'm assuming that a boot.img is not necessary?

Actually you need to update the boot.img for best performance. Turge already created odexed and deodexed zips from the actual update (not nandroid, I dumped the actual update myself).
Turge also created a package to symlink and flash radios without s-off. You folks should read that thread first.
I'm updated hboot, unlocked, updated radio on new base.

I have updated booti.img and removed bloatware using the Rom now download link is dead to much traffic I'm not really up on the dropbox thing kinda new to me
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
As far the radios I tryed doing that on my atrix4g couple years back where u could flash to to radio's partition but never saw any gains here but guess it also depends on location I'm not sure

I mite flash this Rom I got a nandroid of the stock but no stock boot.img irk if its my digitizer or what but my phones screwed up even did a clean reinstall still messed up I'm getting dead spots

1.19.502.1 is not the current HTC release, 2.15.502.1 is the current release and both ROMS based on that version are now built from OTA + The official Released RUU.
Your efforts are appreciated it's always nice to see others take an interest in devving but just as an FYI research always makes things a little easier for up and coming devs.:good:
I know thiis thread is old was going to update it when new Rom.zilp is decrypted my computer isn't working hasn't for awhile also this link has been removed..

Do you get ota updates with unlocked bootloader/root/cwm?

I know it's been answered, I know there's a thread but I cannot for the life of me find it. So can you?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
No. You need stock recovery for an ota. I THINK
Okay, thanks.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Definitely need stock recovery. If your going all out, just wait for a flashable RUU

Since it's AT&T, I doubt there will be a flashable RUU. I tried the T-Mobile, no luck.
Quit posting there's no ruu. There is one. It's for an unreleased version. 12 vs. 10

New update for DNA

I'm moonshined so have S-Off and root. Anything to worry about as far as VZW trying to push this onto my phone?

Don't accept the update until you hear from other people what happens. Many times something like that can make you lose root but not always. So be daring if you wish, me no.

I thought I heard when I originally moonshined that you actually couldn't accept any future OTA builds because of S-Off...

HTC (and/or Verizon) have some nerve getting my hopes up like that.
Yeah a few people pointed out it seems fishy because you can get the app in the play store and it works fine before the ota

I have never heard of an S-Off preventing OTAs on any HTC device. I know if you are on a custom ROM, OTAs from Verizon will not be pushed to your phone.
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
WTH kind of update is that? I mean seriously, an update to a accessibility feature that you can get from the play store if you were even interested in such a thing??? SMH
Maybe they locked the gsm part of the phone has anyone tried a different network after the update?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
looks like they have blocked my unlocktoken (writing 'unlocktoken'...
FAILED (remote: unlock token check failed) F%$k
I was going to test it but I can't afford a new phone at the moment.

Just for sh*ts and giggles, I locked my device back up, performed the RUU, went back to S-On and then took all the updates up to this new update and then tried to Moonshine again...it was successful. I'm back to S-Off, unlocked and 2.07.605. Apparently, Verizon didn't fix the exploit in this update. So unlike them.
I'm stock and downloaded the update. It havent installed it yet. Where do I find it? I can upload it if anyone wants to take a look at it.

I'm rooted and S-Off but on the stock rom still. I'm not going to temp fate and try to download the build OTA from VZW, I'm just hoping they don't try to automatically push it!

Explains the htcdm error I was getting this morning. On a custom Rom. I never plan on taking any Verizon updates again. Last one bricked my phone (2.06) glad I was able to eventually moonshine and get off their horrible software. As far as the sense 5 update coming I could care less. Been running a sense 5 Rom since the release of tranquil. Wouldnt be surprised to see the new one Rom ported over very soon. My bet is we see it before the update.

looking forward to uploading, thank u.
I didn't find it in either folder. Ill run moonshine tonight since its downloaded and get root. Maybe its hiddden in a folder that I can't see as a non root user.

Me thinks RUU's aren't coming

Found it strange that I was perusing the HTCDEV site and it looks like the RUU's for the M7 are gone (ATT, and Dev Edition) the GPE is still there. Makes me wonder if they will actually post any for the M8. And why would they take them down? Whatcha think?
well i think htc is very developer friendly and will continue to be. so they will release them.
HTC will release them or someone will leak them..
HTC is obviously developer friendly so don't expect them to hold anything back.

We have flashable wwe firmware that can fix partitions, then you can just load stock rom. This is all you really need unless you just want the att ruu.

That's awesome. When I had the ATT M7, I loved going back and forth with the RUU's.
