Read this carefully.

In old cwm recovery, they're in /data/media/clockworkmod however in android 4.2, /sdcard is mounted at /data/media/0
This is all covered in the stickies

My bad. I edited my post to direct him to thread you created about finding 4.2 data.

new clockwork recovery???

I know i'm going to get bashed for putting this in the dev section, but we really should have a general question for just t mo and not the entire line of phones. I wanted to know if there was a newer recovery out for the t mo variant. The one in the root guide works with no sd card support. There was another one being talked about which had sd card support and worked on my backup but errored on data during the restore.
That problem was fixed.
As stated, it was fixed; you need to flash the CWM recovery v4 from team epic in odin.
Is that the one in the new tool kit that was released?
Maybe posting in the right thread would give you politer and more specific answers. Just a suggestion. :good:

Broken Clockworkmod

Hello
Sorry to post my thread here, but I don't have 10 posts to put it in dev section
I have a problem with Clockworkmod on my TF201. I had ViperMOD on my transformer prime. I have a problem with camera, and I thought it was a firmware related problem as read in another forum.
So I've put back the stock firmware from ASUS (which boots correclty), forgetting that clockworkmod will be broken afterwards...
Now I have an unrooted tablet with a recovery image which won't boot (I have a big bugdroid with red cross on the chest :'().
How can I reinstall either the original recovery image or the the clockworkmod one ? fastboot won't work, rom manager neither.
I have seen that there is a "Android OTA recovery" check when I boot up with the volume down button, but I don't have found information on how to exploit this feature,
I have tried WGS solution, which is useless as I can't access fastboot...
Any idea on how to restore it ? Do I missed a thread here ?
Thanks in advance.
Trying reading here:

And for future reference, since what you're basically doing is asking for help, this belong in the Q and A section, not general and certainly not dev.
EDIT:
Actually, you can trying rooting again using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706588
If it works, then download goomanager from the play store and have it install TWRP. That might fix your recovery.

I know people will argue with me, but I recommend using TWRP and not using CWM. I've read a lot of threads in the dev section, and some people have weird issues flashing certain roms (latest Androwook for example) with CWM. I don't know why, but so far I haven't seen issues with TWRP.

[Q] SGS4 CM10 Flash Attempt Failing!

Okay, As the title says, I've got a Rooted SGS4, GT-I9505, Running on a TWRP Recovery, And im using the Nightlies from CM Site, Wont let me link due to new account, Now..
My Problem seems to be that when i go into recovery and do my Wipe/Factory Reset, It works fine, But then when i go to flash the zip file, It freaks out! it starts saying Cant mount /system,eft,preload and then obviously gives me a big red failed!.. Now i wipe again, Then restore.. And start again, Also Tried wiping everything but my system folder, etc etc, i've tried everything.. Now ive tried messing with going into the mount tab aswell and seeing if i can mount things myself, but that seems to do somthing else, because it didnt do what i'd expected.
SO.. Am i missing a step between wiping and flashing, Or and i Wiping the wrong things? OR do i need to mount system, efs, preload myself?
SGS4 GT-I9505, Vodafone, AU.

Bad download..... That is usually the problem. Check to see in a file explorer if the size of the file is adequate to the size of it on the get.cm site.

Thanks for that!, Sorry aswell :S
Big news!
Seems TWRP was the issue, It was utterly crapping itsself, It seems after i'd flashed Philz CWM recovery, Everything went pretty smooth.. Now my only problem is that this is my first custom rom, so now to see where i should start before i move to CM10 and stay there haha!
If anyone has any suggestions for a thread/post that would be great.. Only thing i know is step 1: Get a GApps.zip!

Note that your TWRP backups are not compatible with CWM so one thing to do is make a backup in CWM of a known good configuration.

[Q] CM 10.2 to stock Touchwiz

Good afternoon all,
I apologize if this is a duplicate thread but i've spent the better part of the past week trying to find information on this. I have CM10.2 installed on my GTi9300. Initially i had Touchwiz with 4.1.2, I created a backup in CWM and then flashed CM10.1 and then upgraded now to CM 10.2... I really would like to go back to my original TOuchwiz and as i previously stated, I have a backup of the state before installing my initial CM...
How do I go about doing this?
Regards

I understand but what I'm wondering as well is if possible and how I can just restore form my CWM backup. This pretty emuvh says I have to wipe and flash the firmware I want to have on my phone.
you can just go into recovery and resore. if your nandroid backup is not there than it may have gotten corrupted. which cwm are you using. ? is it up to date?
Don't forget to take into account what I said about sdcard. I don't say this stuff for fun

All my backups are there. I have CWM 6.xxx. So with my backup I can just wipe and recover?
What do I need to wipe etc? And I read about EFI backups... I don't have one of that.

i have not used cwm in a long time . also never on this device but it is usually safe to wipe cache and dalvik cache. probably fine to wipe data if your backup is on extsdcard. i would not wipe system though . in case your backup is corrupted wiping system will leave you with no rom. if you have the option to restore backup from cwm recovery than try that . if your phone doesnt boot usually factory reset will get it to boot. good luck

The Only way to be eligable for . ota updates is to have stock everything Firmware, recovery, andkernel must all be stock. also need to be NOT rooted. and on the correct csc for your region. please read this link in its entirety http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2323847. read the stickies in general section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344125 . read and understand what it is you are doing and what it is that you want to accomplish from modifying your phone. the best way to learn is to read. good luck

[Q] First time CyanogenMod 10.1 and EFS folder

Model GT-i9300
Current Android version 4.1.2 (Stock samsung)
Baseband: I9300XXEMB6
Kernel: 3.0.31-1160235
Build: JZO54K.I9300XXEMD3
CWM recovery 6.0.3.6 installed, and root access.
Im planning an install of cm-10.1.3-i9300.zip and gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip (CyanogenMod 10.1 stable) and it's my first installation of a custom ROM. Im also new to this forum, and customs ROMS in general, the last couple of days I have been reading alot of forum posts, stickies, trying to learn this.
Now I don't wanna do anything wrong and brick my phone or make EFS folder unreadable. So I have some questions ..
First, I have read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2393289 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035141.
But.. Im having trouble understanding, if I should do someting about EFS or not.
Will this ROM make my EFS folder unreadable? If so, what can I do about it? If I must, do I flash v2 before or after I have installed CM?
I have already backed up EFS with EFSprobackup.
As I can see I have EMB6 = 2013 Feb Rev6 which is "v1"?
You backup your EFS at least twice in case of EFS fail .

Yes it is
Done and done.
So what you are saying that i should just flash, and if it doesnt work with GSM / SMS / MMS afterward, I just restore EFS and it should be OK?
Put one on your PC as enough have wiped the backup from the phone .

Done that, but do i restore after ROM install? Will that work if ROM changes the EFS folder file system, making it unreadable?
