Network bands in regions may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location. 4G LTE only available in select countries. Upload and download speeds also depend on the mobile operator.
Available storage is less due to phone software. Approximately 10GB (for 16GB) / 25GB (for 32GB) storage available for user content. Available storage is subject to change based on phone software updates and apps usage.
Battery times (talk time, standby time, and more) are subject to network and phone usage.
A Standby time specification ("specification") is an industry standard that is only intended to allow comparison of different mobile devices under the same circumstances. Power consumption in a standby state is strongly dependent on factors including but not limited to network, settings, location, movement, signal strength and cell traffic . Comparisons of different mobile devices using such a specification can therefore only be done in a controlled laboratory environment . When using any mobile device in real life circumstances for which the mobile device is intended, the standby time could be considerably lower and will be strongly dependent on the factors as mentioned above.
Note: Specifications are subject to change without prior notice.

Are you going to buy it?

Anyone knows when are they gonna launch it in India?

The phone was actually launched with price tag of 61 thousand....Not really sure what makes it fit in that price category though

At the time when I posted on nov 13 it was available on ebay only. Ya now as of today you can find cheaper deals.
Its definately not worth at that price. I have Xpera Z Ultra which has better processor, bigger screen, got it for 36.4k so I dont think its logical to pay 15-20k more for inferior processor. It should have been priced around 40k but at this price doubt anyone will go for it.

got it
bought it day before yesterday from heera lana at mumbai for 52k. love it.

Got one for 53k yester with 12 month interest free emi!

yes, there are all CDMA versions of these phones, there to be released near the end of the year, it says so in my last sentence in my first post.
And yes, the Touch (Diamond) and the Touch Pro (Raphael) have Stylus's.
It's a magnetic stylus that wakes the phone up removal as well

actually i just made it more understandable as i could see as why it was a tab bit confusing, and i made everything just overall more oraganized.
288MB RAM, not 228MB ... as per Engadget
the battery life is something that is a bit interesting. I wonder though, why don't people test the battery limits when multi tasking (eg texting/iming or actively online) for a better portrayal of battery limitations? But so far this is a fantastic phone. unfortunately, I expect to get it next year when it is sold on ebay, heavens knows verizon won't release it till a year after sprint gets it (see htc touch for a good example of that)
Verizon, get your game up, or I will jump the shark
edit
on the negative side, no windows soft key, and the keyboard is missing some vital keys I use on my mogul. What gives?

I truly hope that Big RED won' wait as long as they did with the titan - This phone seems to solve both of the big negatives - screen resolution and RAM. Cannot wait until it comes out!!
would be nice, but I am not even going to get my hopes up thinking it will be with sprint... maybe if someone unlocks it we can use it on sprints cdma?

The phone posted is a GSM phone. It doesn't have a CDMA radio therefore all the hacks in the world will not make it operate on a CDMA network. The only way you will see this phone on Sprint or Verizon is if HTC manufactures CDMA models.

I thought there will be a CDMA version. It's already confirmed in Sprint's roadmap, I thought?
thought that too considering these phones are upgrades to the mogul and the touch...I'm pretty sure there is a sprint model for this because if there isn't...I will be very mad
The Sprint version should be out in October. The only change I'm aware of (other than ditching the GSM radio for CDMA) is losing the forward-facing camera.
Yeah I can't wait for the Sprint version...
However, I have some qualms about the claimed battery life... 8 hours seems ridiculous considering how WEAK the battery is... See reviews of the Touch Diamond for more info...
I get through the day on my Mogul and its got about 40-60% at the end of the day... doubt I could make it through the entire day with either the Diamond or the Touch Pro...
The Touch Pro has a 1130 Mah battery vs the 900 Mah battery Found in the Touch Diamond.

4gb internal memory
*Memory
- 512MB ROM, 228MB RAM
I was assuming it says that but it only has 512mb internal memory. So is the specs wrong or is this not a correct picture?
It could say 4gb internal Mirco SD or something like that meaning it's not SDHC capible but if our phones are SDHC capible then any newer models would be SDHC.
Also it says aGPS so it doesn't have GPS only assisted GPS. It's definately much better than our phones 64mb ram vs 228/288MB. But removing GPS is just odd since even blackberrys have GPS now.

So WiMax and LTE isn't even true 4G...

Straight from Wikipedia:
In March 2008, the International Telecommunications Union-Radio communications sector (ITU-R) specified a set of requirements for 4G standards, named the International Mobile Telecommunications Advanced (IMT-Advanced) specification, setting peak speed requirements for 4G service at 100 megabits per second (Mbit/s) for high mobility communication (such as from trains and cars) and 1 gigabit per second (Gbit/s) for low mobility communication (such as pedestrians and stationary users).[1]
Since the above mentioned first-release versions of Mobile WiMAX and LTE support much less than 1 Gbit/s peak bit rate, they are not fully IMT-Advanced compliant, but are often branded 4G by service providers. On December 6, 2010, ITU-R recognized that these two technologies, as well as other beyond-3G technologies that do not fulfill the IMT-Advanced requirements, could nevertheless be considered "4G", provided they represent forerunners to IMT-Advanced compliant versions and "a substantial level of improvement in performance and capabilities with respect to the initial third generation systems now deployed".[2]
Mobile WiMAX Release 2 (also known as WirelessMAN-Advanced or IEEE 802.16m') and LTE Advanced (LTE-A) are IMT-Advanced compliant backwards compatible versions of the above two systems, standardized during the spring 2011,[citation needed] and promising peak bit rates in the order of 1 Gbit/s. Services are expected in 2013.[3]

Wikipedia Article
Basically the real definition of 4G is 100mb/s in trains/cars and 1gb/s standing still. LTE Advanced, which promises these speeds, will probably be advertised as 4.5G just like CDMA was advertised as 3.5G.
If services are expected in 2013, however, Sprint services are expected in 2300.

As for the whole "not 4G thing" Well... LOL at least it's faster? It sucks that carriers won't wait for a standard to be made but whatever as long as sprint does its part in the rollout its still going to be hell of a lot faster than 3G. Even wimax is beauty compared
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
isn't this common knowledge?
I'd assume thats the same all around the world where they have "4G" available.
So why are carriers and manufacturers advertising it as 4G when the standard doesn't exist so far?

The reason they did it, sprint specifically, is because their was no standard. And since their was none they had nothing stopping them from advertising it as 4G. They might have even been hoping to set the standard before clearwires debt got in the way.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
I think they messed up when specifying what the 4g standard speeds should be. We won't see 1 gigabit download speeds for YEARS, like most us will probably be dead before that happens. I think LTE should be labeled as 4g as it is a next generation of technology and speed as compared to cdma and gsm so I don't blaim carriers for doing that.

While it won't be 1 gigabit, it will still be a whopping amount depending on what frequency carriers use. Maybe around 500-700 mbs or lower?
And since other people will be sharing the connection, you'll end up with around 100-300 mbs which is still insane.
To put it in to relativity, LTE is supposed to be 75mb/s but the end user receives 10-20mb/s.
If 3G to LTE was a 10x higher difference, LTE to LTE Advanced was a 10x higher jump, I think we can guess that 5g will be 10x higher than 4g LTE. This means 5G should be 1GB/s to the end user. I'm pretty sure 5G will be out in our lifetimes.

While the technology can support that, I don't see any carriers backhaul being able to support that kind of bandwidth. They would need to do a monumental overhaul to get those kind of speeds to every customer. Sprint ran into this issue with their network and now they ate redoing their entire network. And while it will be a huge upgrade, even that won't be able to handle delivering "true" 4G speeds to everyone.

Internet Data Speeds

What APN is everyone using? The max speed I have seen on my galaxy s III is around 6mbps....never faster. I am currently using the "pta" apn for LTE devices (my other device is a galaxy note LTE).
Which apn should I be using to achieve the fastest speeds?
I have seen speeds go up to 9mbps on HSPA+ with my old galaxy nexus before, but I have never seen that with this device at the same exact location.
Is something preventing this phone from getting hspa+ speeds?
I would guess we are all using different APN as many many different networks in the world .

What version you are using ... If you are using international model then the speeds you are getting is good and you will not get LTE. If you are using ATT LTE version then you are in the wrong forum, there's a separate forum for US variants.

I'm using the international version....the speeds still seem pretty slow compared to when I had my galaxy nexus that got 9mbps+ on hspa+....I get no where close to that now....

I get about 4-6mbps on my international GS3 on AT&T. One positive for me is the speeds seem to be more consistent than my GS2 in the same area.
I get about 5-6mbs in the UK using the stock settings.
Generally in states and Canada you'll see slower 3g speeds on average compared to nam version and gn. The reason some speculate is because nam version and possibly gn as well support hspa rev8 as opposed to international only up to hspa rev6.
In real life that translates on average speed in my city of 3-6 mps with i9300 although sometimes I can reach 12 mps at certain locations and time of day.
My i747m gives me average 8-11 mps in GTA and sometimes I can reach 14 mps.
Using Fido on Rogers network both on ltemobile.apn.
They both show same or very simmilar asu level holding them side by side when testing.
North American model is also quicker to reach max speed and stay there when testing, while international kinda ease itself staring from 1 mps then gradually half way into test reaching maximum.
This also translates into tethering speed limits when hooking one to another or using laptop.
Note all this is about hspa 3g and not about lte since my provider does not have lte yet and my sim card is 3g.

+3mbps on an EXCELLENT day, otherwise, it'll be around ~2mbps here in SoCal.
I've gotten about 9mb/s on H+ with Vodafone ireland

That should actually not happen... Fast dormancy is supposed to only kick in after some idle time.
At least that's what it does to my knowledge and what I've been able to piece together abut the functionality.
However I can confirm... on DXLF3 with FD I get 1.8Mbit/s Downstream while actually hitting 8Mbit/s with FastDormancy disabled.
I've confirmed the test several times in exactly the same location, always same result.
Well, seems that JuiceDefender's auto-toggle 2G/3G is finally gonna really pay of if Fast Dormancy is disabled
What modem works best with AT&T? Also see a lot about csc. Does that matter on AT&T?

Hmm I just found something
very interesting.
Whenever the phone changes antenna or drops to 2G, upon restore of the HSPA+ connction I only get the same meagre 1.8 Mbit/s.
Rebooting the phone or toggling airplane mode will bring it back to 8 Mbit/s until the next time it changes.
From the behaviour it looks as if the phone could not go above the first hspa-stage when it's not a new connection. I'll try different modems tomorrow but I guess that's a software bug.
Additionally, altough I've disabled fd through the app and confirmed it being disabled in the database, the phone keeps going to RRC-State "idle" which is fast dormancy.
Interestingly enough my carrier is not even listed in the list sinc I'm on a custom rom.
Anybody knows a fix to either of both issues?
Especially the first is rather annoying.
I am on Fido in Canada. This is usually the speed I get.

locking HSPA+
to all!
i just want to ask before on gingerbread phones we can setup the internet by going to this settings *#301279# and *#279301#
now on our gs3 this option is gone... do anybody have an idea how to lock HSPA+ on gs3???
thanks in advance!
What do you mean "lock"? The phone will automatically select the highest possible transfer speed in active usage and may fallback to a slower one during Idle to preserve power.

Hmmm like before on my sg1 and galaxy w... also on my daughter's ace when i type on the phone dialer *#301279# there is an option to disabke hsupa and leave hsdpa open. And never have i seen the 3g logo on the location where im at before. Now on our sg3 i cant seem to access that switch anymore. So that's why im asking if there is an alternative code or a rom taht would give me that option.
Thanks for the feedback though

LG G2 Mini (D620) 3G/4G Problem

Hello. My phone only show 2G or 2.5G. Not 3G or 4G. Settings > Tethering & networks mobile networks > 2G/2G/4G. What can I do?
I have the same issue.
Even though the phone is 4G LTE it only ever says H on the top. The max speed i've seen is 3.5Mbps. It ranges 2G 2.5G never really reaches 3G or 4G speeds. I've updated, talked to reps on the phone, factory reset, and still super slow speed.
This phone was purchased brand new 3 years ago on eBay for a significant amount. Came in original packaging and everything with LG seals. Also ran AnTuTu official to test any fake possibility and everything said OK. The only thing I can think at this point, is that I tethered the phone years ago just to see if I could use with my computer, and since then I think possibly ATT has been limiting my speed. But everyone claims no limit...
Maybe some kind of weird software glitch? I am completely lost at this point.

Do you use an custom ROM? For what purpose would be 4G for you? The signal can be provider and location dependent.
Also you should know MBps and Mbps differs from each other at the factor of 8 (1MBps = 8Mbps). Commonly used in Downloadspeeds is Mbps.
4G to have something better than the "2.5G Like" intermittent speeds.
Location is confirmed with 4G LTE.
IMEI info comes back as HSPDA+. From what I read, this is what ATT uses instead of 4G.... but either way it's a hell of a lot faster than 3 Mbps.
Only recently rooted to try to fix this issue. Was not getting real speeds even without rom. Still on stock rom. Recently did V10k stock rom update.
Edit:
- I see you mentioned MBps vs Mbps... yes I did mean 3.5 Mbps.
After doing more research, it seems never-msrp on eBay was selling new LG G2 D620 Minis that were manufactured incorrectly, or were part of some kind of high brow scheme. Multiple locations on the phone show the Quad core Snapdragon processor as MSM8226 (3G capable) not MSM8926 (4G LTE capable). The back cover and packaging on the phone all show 4G LTE, but the processor and board info all show MSM8226. Over 3 years, I had never connected to 4G since the straight talk adviser at the time said they were out of 4G sim chips, and I would only be on 3G. It wasn't until today, that I installed the new sim chip into my phone and did all this research. Looks like I got beat

AFAIK everything is in order, when I got g2mini it was advertised as LTE variant, and my carrier had cheaper non LTE model.
There also is Nvidia Tegra variant of our phones, which also has LTE. Moreover according to interwebz NFC is present only in LTE variants.

Which makes my situation even weirder. I have NFC in my phone, but the non-LTE Snapdragon processor.
To make one final test, I'm ordering a freedompop sim to test the ATT 4G network in this area, borrowing an LTE enabled GPad (verified working with 4G).

D620/D620R should be MSM8926, and should have LTE. But I suspect you are in USA, this would point to a certain problem with LTE frequencies. As according to list of LTE networks, LG G2 mini LTE does not work on frequencies used by mobile operators in USA.
But then again I have data for LG G620R using MSM8926 SoC, because your reports MSM8226 it might be version for US market, but I failed at finding such version. Although I might be mistaken, it is kind of late in here, I'll take a look at it tomorrow morning.
Try to use devcheck (from the play store) to see exactly what you have

I more so have a feeling that this was a manufacture defect batch. Where they put the D618 board into the phone, and coded the information for a D620. The only place it says MSM8926 is in the Baseband version. All other CPU test and programs show MSM8226.

It still does not explain SoC in OP phone. As every database i checked reports D620 and d620r to be equipped with MSM8926, MSM8226 was in D610/D618 (single/dual SIM), and those models do not have LTE for sure.
This seems to be right, as Tegra variant model number is D625.
Also I was correct, LTE in g2mini works on frequencies that are not used by US mobile carriers.

Question 5G support in the USA XQ-CT72

Has anyone been able to get 5G support in the USA with Xperia 1 lV XQ-CT72 ?
I have tried T-Mobile and also AT&T on mine and the best I can do is "LTE+" on T-Mobile
On AT&T it says only LTE, yet I am getting the same DL speeds as I did wit T-Mobile around 84mb

Thanks again I was able to figure it out on my own here In the USA my Xperia now shows 5G with AT&T I’m not sure if I am actually getting 5G speeds though
With a good connection what should my DL speeds be approximately?
Lastly I assume when the US variant starts shipping here in the States it will probably not support Wi-Fi calling either
Hard to tell really, depends on a type of network, congestion, signal quality.........and server speed on the other side.
Its clear to me that with the international version of this phone in the USA you don't get 5g speed
I did a test I ran SpeedTest using the same SIM card. One on my iPhone and got over 150mp transfer, I then put there same SIM card in my Xperia 1 IV device and even though it shows "5G"Service I am getting half the speed approximately 70mp download. So it's still running in LTE mode... Vert frustrating
But that doesn't tell that it's LTE. 5G can be worse then LTE. Unless you can lock on a specific cell on a certain tower and do proper testing which can also give veeeery different results, it's hard to tell what you are actually using. There are some apps that kinda tell you network info but it is not the same as proper testing app with all the details and ability to lock on to a specific cell. Been doing that with Huawei equipment recently and......well, very time consuming process and very frustrating vhen the same phone on the same spot can lock on some frequency but can't on another for the same technology on the same tower. And speed was anything from 50-500 MB, depends whether it was low band or high band and 735347 factors. And repeating the test right after can produce very different results.
Unless you try that 20 times with each phone on the same spot and preferably in hours of lower congestion and then have some consistency in results that xperia is always twice slower it might be just coincidence.

I live in a rural area where there is only one tower. I did the test one after another. First with the iPhone using Speed Test from Ookia and then pulled the SIM card out and put it in the Xperia, using the same app on the Xperia I experienced much slower speeds and I did run the test multiple times.
I am in Australia, before this trick I got a maximum of 200mbs after figuring this out I am getting 300 - 800mb so it seems it's working on my end
have too be careful what actually being displayed for 5G service icon , I have found on the XQ-CT72 it will show 5g icon, but with LTE dicovery app, it shows its only connected to 2 different LTE bands, the download speeds are horrible like 10mbps, with the USA model pixel 6 pro it shows 5g and LTE App shows its connected to 5G NSA71 which is the true "5g" band and download speeds are 75-100 mbps, so I returned my 1 IV and see what happens with the USA model after it been out a while., then maybe I`ll buy that one, until now pixel 6 pro for now.

Are folks checking if 5G is ACTUALLY being broadcast in their areas? Just because we see advertising on TV for 5g or a phone has 5g capability (have to check bands but some versions of this phone do have the 5g bands for the US) or a phone displays 5g in status bar (lol) but in reality is getting 4g (aka LTE). Even all typical LTE bands are not all broadcast in any given area e.g in my area Tmobile has 4 and 2 but nothing else and AT&T has 2 and 17 and nothing else. Too many times I see people endlessly discussing these 4g/5G issues without looking at the actual towers and what they are sending out in their respective areas.

You have to also check what bands are actually being broadcast by the towers in your area of usage. Further the carriers go loose with the way what they call 5g (marketing). Also bands like 66 extended LTE is just seen in a couple of spots in a general large area like 30 x 30 sq miles where I am. At least that is what I have seen.
