[Q] 64gb SD card - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

I have a stock Galaxy Player 5 and I wanted to know if it would be compatible with 64gb sd cards. Has anyone tried one with the player?

This is a good question.
I know that the compatibility is a hardware problem, but sometimes devices declared with a support for microsd with 32GBP can work without problem with 64gb without problem.
Anyone tried this with a Samsung player?

[Q] Do SDXC cards work on the S3??

Hi All,
I'm wondering if 64gb SDXC cards work with the S3...there's a thread that I found on some other forum where people said it works, but I wanted to get the confirmation from XDA pro's...so any idea??
It will work, but beware that the FAT32 specifications do allow for partitions larger than 32Gb. You'll need either Linux or a 3rd-part formatting tool to format a FAT32 partition.
You can always use exFAT on the uSD card, however!
With ICS 4.0.4 we lost the ability to move apps to the SD card, which - for me, at least - was a huge turn off and made an external sd card lose 50% of its funcionality.
Mine is running just fine with a SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDXC 64GB. Installed it in the phone and formated it. No problems.
yes it is supported
They work but you may run into problems with exFAT. I had to reformat mine into FAT32 on an older phone as some music files just refused to show. More details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698672
Thanks a lot for the info guys..very much appreciate it
Mine also workedd , no problem.

Take any micro SD and I'll give you my personal guarantee it'll work, but I used to work for a bank so I don't know how much my guarantee is worth anymore.

Will the Samsung Galaxy S3 support a MicroSD 64GB SDXC

Hi. I'm a noob to this forum. I'm upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S3 very soon and was looking at Micro SD cards. I was looking at the SanDisk 64 GB SDXC Micro SD card. I can't find any information regarding whether the S3 can use this card. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9300_galaxy_s_iii-4238.php
-Card slot microSD, up to 64 GB
does that answer your question?
oh and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1915385

Yes. A SGS3 should support any of the following SD cards up to 64gb: microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC
Edit: A source that confirms it: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-Galaxy-S3_id6330
Thanks very much for the quick reply and help. Much appreciated!

Cant we just right click on the memory card and select fat32 on windows? Why need a 3rd party app? Just curious.

here is google translation: This software will give me the chance to put on the microsd files larger than 4GB?
no sorry you can not use one file thats has more than 4gb size, its fat32 limitation. This beautiful app only formats cards to fat32
Is the real issue with CM itself?

So I am in the same boat... the main reason I paid big bucks for my 64gb SDXC card was so that I could watch movies, and most of my files are over 4gb in size, so FAT32 is useless to me. What drives me nuts is that my Galaxy S3 handles exFat no problem, and from what I have heard, this tablet (stock/unrooted) will support it.... so the issue appears to be with CM itself, and the developers need to do something to add support, is this correct?

I been researching for 2 days on the internet, even SanDisk Customer Service, and the software they provided SD Card Formatter 3.1, or 4.0 failed. I also tried the following: swissknife, EaseUS Partition Master 9.2.1 Home Edition, Aomei NTFS to FAT32 Converter, they all didn't work :/
The gui you found worked and easy to do a FAT32 like a charm, you rock man!!
Thank you so much!!!
For what it's worth, SanDisk now says the card must remain in exfat format to be safe.
From Amazon.com
"Product Features
-Reformat into file system other than exFAT may cause instability
-Only compatible with SDXC enabled device in exFAT format per SD Standard."
I had my card formatted to fat32 for about two months and it crapped up a few days ago... it got stuck in read only and I couldn't format it in two pc's or my phone. It's getting replaced by sandisk
It's really ironic how a high end card, which cozy a fortune even while on sale, lasts only 4 months, while some no-name cards I've been using for years have zero issues. In fact, the SanDisk 64gb card is the only brand name card I've purchased in over 10 years of using flash memory and it's the only one with a problem. Even compact flash cards I purchased in 2002 are still working

Just wanted to say the exact same thing happened to me almost to the day....got my replacement card form Sandisc now and will be leaving it formatted in ExFat.
well, my 64GB got totally fried, but it was still exFat, so I guess it can happen anyway (it was one of the first 64GB ones available though)
