I just got the Nexus 5 and was wondering how I could get some Sounds off the HTC EVO 4g LTE to put on the Nexus (mainly some notification sounds). Can I download a stock ROM and pull them from that?

If you don't have them by tomorrow, I will upload a zip. I just can't do it right now.
For the record, I use Sense 3/4/5 sounds on all of my devices, and the Sense 5 font on everything.

If you DL the ROM and follow the file paths and either create same file paths on your SD, or put the individual files in the correct locations in root directory (/system) then they will shoe in regular selection box and seem like they're supposed to be there

Simply unzip to your sd card (internal memory). Usually, the phone recognizes the folder because of the default names (notifications, alarms, etc.), and the sound files will show on your default list, instead of you needing to navigate to their location.
Attached is the Sense 5 font if you want to check it out, and the Roboto Slim font if you want to change it back. But it is to be flashed in recovery, so if you aren't rooted, then this isn't for you.
Thank the man

MeanROM
MeanROM comes with Google Now already installed so if you don't want to mess with flashing other zips that's the obvious choice. Just wanted to let you know though that it can be flash on any ROM. Simply follow the instructions here. Make sure you download mikey's v6
Another vote for MeanRom. The Google Now integration is seamless.

are you able to use your 4g. i went running and realized i couldnt turn my 4g on. there wasnt a on/off button
I'm running Rejuvenated Stock 2.2 currently, and it has a very functional Google Now. I don't know if it's as current as the one in MeanROM 3.0, but it's been great so far.

As soon as CM10 (or CMX) is fully functional, I'll be all over it. I've tried a couple of the builds, and it's progressing very nicely. Deck & toast are doing an amazing job with it. For me, it's pretty much a camcorder away from being a daily.
There is no on/off button for LTE like there was for WiMAX. It's always on unless you go into wireless settings and turn it off.

Am I the only one who's not a big fan of google now? It bothers me how scrolling through search results is slower than on the standard google search app (i.e. the screen doesn't continue scrolling for a bit after you take your finger off). I also find that sometimes tapping on links for sub results doesn't work...the link is highlighted briefly but the page never loads. Is anyone else having problems with that? I'm using Clean Rom at the moment but I've noticed the same things on Mean.
Is it possible to revert back to the stock google search? Is there an apk I can replace or is google now embedded in the ROM?

There is a way to go back but voice search doesn't work at the moment. It's in the bottom of this post under 'back to stock'.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29756226
You can turn googlenow off in settings if you still want voice search to work until the 'back to stock' is fixed. cajunflavoredbob is working on the fix.

Okay, so I know it's an issue with the latest update from HTC, but has anyone found a workaround for the custom ringtones issue? I haven't seen anyone talking about it, so I'm wondering if I missed some magical fix. lol
None that I have found or heard of.

You can always install another phone book app that allows you to designate a ringtone folder until HTC gets around to issuing a working solution, just a thought. Might not actually work

Meh...I moved to aosp and haven't looked back. If I do I'll have to laugh, why might you ask, because I don't want anyone to see me cry when I look back at the flaming wreckage of HTC's android build
Finally broke down and bought this app. Price tag is a little high considering you can get all the separate applications free, but not all under one roof. But that brings me to my question.
Have you or anyone else you heard of had issues with any of the programs in rom toolbox? Ad blocker has been a little inconsistent for me. Know he has been working on it though.
Does the boot screen changer work? Had any issues with font changer? Just want to know before I run into the same thing. Some of it is a little dangerous to run without being optimized for the phone. Especially the EVO LTE.
Any info would be appreciated. Please share any positive / negative effects you've had. Thanks!
It all works for me.. Some things such as the status bar icon installer might look a little goofy on Sense ROMs(I'm on cyanogemmod so I haven't tried it) but everything else should work. Its all mostly fundamental android tools that should work on any phone, EVO, GS3, or otherwise.

Another question unrelated to rom toolbox. In titanium backup pro u are supposed to be able to restore all apps & data at once. I've looked in settings and preferences but can't find it. Does it come up when u are restoring?
Pretty much the only reason I bought it was for the one click restore.

I bought it yesterday myself. It's an awesome app, but boot animations don't work for me either, most likely due to a prerequisite of being S-OFF?

Which ROM are you running? I haven't tried it on a Sense ROM so I can't say for sure but that's all I can think of that might interfere with it. The tool basically just takes the animation and puts it into the right folder in the root of your phone.
I know on my old Hero it was stored a little different on some ROMs so that some boot animations with sounds and stuff caused issues.
Point is, its probably ROM based, not hboot related.
Edit: If you check the boot animation installer settings you can change the target of where its installing the animation. If you can find out where its installed on your ROM there's no reason for it not to work as long as you're rooted.
Edit#2: If on a sense ROM change the destination to /system/customize/resource/
And then change from bootanimation.zip to *scratch that, read post below for the right .zip name*
No guarantees it'll work but it looks like that's where its stored on a Stock w Goodies ROM I have on my SD card. I took the bootanimation from it and installed it on my paranoid android ROM and it worked so it should work the other way around.

Boot animations just require root, and you have to tell rom toolbox the path/filename of the boot animation zip that the rom is looking for.
For sense-based roms on evo lte, that is
/system/customize/resource/SPC_bootanimation.zip
That filename is actually mutable. It's defined in /system/customize/CID/default.xml
So go into rom toolbox, boot animations. Then hit menu, Install Locations.
Common locations: "HTC EVO 4G"
That loads the other two settings with defaults that are closest to correct. Directory is correct, and you only have to modify the filename slightly from bootanimation.zip to SPC_bootanimation.zip
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Basically, rom toolbox could read the correct values right out of default.xml. I don't know why it doesn't. Maybe the path/name of default.xml itself isn't consistent on all devices or maybe he just didn't think of it yet.

I have been using this since it first came out, bought it back on my OG EVO. It has been loads of help, and is nice to have everything under one hood.
After messing around with this for ages to get it resized and booted, I finally got there and figured I'd share it here for the rest of you to use if you wish.
*Originally posted in the HTC One forum but should work as the resolution is the same*
I can't seem to get this in landscape but it still looks fine in portrait anyway
Download link - http://d-h.st/61Q
*NOTE* This isn't a flashable zip.
Instructions
*Download above file.
*Delete the current bootanimation (Can be found in system/customize/resource but may be different dependant on what ROM you're using)
*OPTIONAL - You can delete the boot up noise aswell if you wish.
*Put this in it's place.
*Reboot and it should be all good.
You may wanna do a backup first incase you don't like it and want to revert back.
EDIT - As the preview didn't want to show up, check out this video to see it in action.

Confirmed, flashed just fine
Here's a little something I put together with the help of fellow member Rootlinux. It's a flashable zip file of AOSP sounds. I have tested this on Sharkie's 2.5.1-beta (software version 3.17) and Android 4.3 Sense 5 and 5.5 and it works fine, and should work fine with any ROM for the EVO LTE so long as the file structure remains the same. As always, make a backup before flashing. The updater script will wipe out the notifications, ringtones, and alarm folders under system/media/audio (this will prevent from having duplicate notification sounds). The second link contains a zip with both AOSP and Sense sounds, for those users looking to keep both. The third link is a flashable zip of Sense 5 sounds. Any feedback is greatly appreciated
