Hello I have a big problem,
a week ago I format my SD Card and want to install Insert Coin Rom.
But there is everytime an error (in the busybox, superuser section)
I installed the stock rom and see that I have no root
I flashed supersu -> no root (the app is installed but I become no root)
What can I do that I become root back?
FAExZ
PS: Sorry for my very bad english. I am from germany
PPS: I cant delete Dalvik Cache and Fix Permissions in TWRP.
Seems you have got wrong recovery for your hboot. Check my hboot guide on General for more information.

Thx, I had the 2.6.3.0 TWRP installed (bad idea)
If you use correct twrp, it won't be a bad idea. Just saying

2) When you go to recovery, what do you see? Does Clockworkmod load?

Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
You should use the method described here to flash Clockworkmod onto the device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14693680
However the version they provide on that post is outdated. You should instead download and use this Clockworkmod image file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1279257 (extract the img file from the zip file first)
Once Clockworkmod is on the device you can install the ROM of your choice.

In my case, when I updated from ICS, JB was rooted too (I think). I don't know exactly because when I updated and made nandroid backup, I flashed the Deodexed JellyBean that ckpv5 uploaded. Did you try to install superuser/supersu like in ICS?

Well, I updated mine with a nandroid backup from another phone (same CID) that was rooted, and I updated another DX of a friend of mine that was rooted too so I guess you can update without unrooting too :fingers-crossed:

I meant, that I didn't flash superuser zip directly via recovery, but opened a preinstalled SuperSu in prerooted ROM, it asked me to update su binary and gave me the option to flash via TWRP / CWM, so I used that.

after flashing the OTA do i need to flash boot.img or after flashing the OTA.zip the phone will restart normally.
Since you are already using the same ROM
Its not required to flash boot.IMG again
But u can flash the stock recovery again and relock the bootloader if you feel that HTC gonna update again

Yes, but if he doesn't install the custom recovery he has already taken the OTA update. To reinstall that OTA update, just reset the phone to factory. No need for all this hassle.

No. Windows 8/8.1 is not a supported operating system for the Rezound.
Are you S-ON or S-OFF? What recovery do you have installed?
I'm S-ON and the phone came with amon ra 3.13 pre-installed (I bought it already rooted)... I was told that in order to use TWRP all I had to do was download it and it would become my new recovery?

no you have to fastboot flash it with a windows 7 computer since your s-on...and also the recovery depends on rom...if your on Ice cream sandwhich or lower you want amon ra 3.16 only.....if Jelly bean or higher you want TWRP or CWM latest
Although there are some possible ways to flash recovery and Roms when S-On and without a Win 7 or similar PC it is very risky... If anything goes wrong at all, you will need access to a Win 7/XP machine or could brick it. Honestly I would recommend not attempting further modification of your phone without access to a PC with working Linux, Mac, or PC Windows (7 or earlier) with working fastboot.

Flashing ROMs and everything works just fine in Windows 8.1, although you might need an update to your USB controller drivers. Most computers that ship with Windows 8.1 won't use the screwy generic ones, so you should be fine using your tablet.

what version of SuperSu did you flash? What Rom are you running? The latest SuperSU 1.94? Doesn't work for 4.2.2. If your S-off why and have CWM recovery why not flash a custom rom?
I am trying to do just that. I can't really find any up to date info to help me step by step, so I am piecing together the newest info I can find. I am a little confused right now. Stuck on trying to root. I flashed superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip

Do I need to root to load a custom rom? Is s-off =root on htc? I guess I have deleted everything off the phone and now it is stuck at the white htc screen. I can get to recovery but did not perform any backups. I can get to bootloader and recovery and I guess need to sideload a rom. I haven't had time the last few days to try anything new. Thanks for the input, I need to fix my dna so I can get off of this note 2 I don't like. I don't understand why htc doesn't sell better.... my dna was the **** before I ruined it!
S-off is secure flag removed meaning you can install unsigned firmware (eng hboot) unlocked means you can write to system partition and other secure partitions. Root means you have an app (like supersu) able to have other apps execute admin (root for Linux) commands. If you have cwm installed, just side load a pre rooted Rom from development sections.
