hi guys
i have "Roehsoft Ram Expander" on my Galaxy Ace s5830i. I have made 1 gb of ext2 partition from CWM.
But when i launch Roehsoft, i check the box "swap active" .it makes swap file correctly but when it finished, it says that "please wait while swap file killing" and i see that there is not a swap file created. So i cannot have swap file.
My Kernel is Rafael Baugis Kernel 2.6.35.7 [email protected]#1
Also i have stock rom. (because of ram problems i go back again to stock rom, i used to use "simplicity v5.2")
What should i do? Do i have to change my kernel or do i have to use JellyBean rom of Simplicity 5.2 ?

Problem Solved
Hi Guys,
I'm new to this Forum so please pardon if i'm not following any rules and mistakenly posted the thread in the wrong location.
I had installed Clockworkmod Recovery from "theandroidsoul"
Then I have Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100. Recently i have installed a custom ROM on it provided by JellyBam ROM 20121023 – i9100 (courtesy: igio90.)
It has upgraded my phone to:
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband: I9100DDLP8
Kernel Version:[email protected]
AOKP Version: JellyBam.AOKP.Build5
Build number: JellyBam AOKP 20121023
I have found it to be unstable as there were many functionality that have been lost including FM, 5.1 surround sound, MTP and mass storage connection, etc.
I would like to remove the ROM completely and install another of ROM
Please suggest me the following:
1. can i go back to ICS 4.0.1 by removing this rom and instaliling ICS from odin? what would be a recommended procedure for it?
2. Will i BRIK my phone in this process?
3. Can i install any other version of Jelly bean custom rom using ODIN, what would be a recommended procedure for it?
Guys i need your help ASAP as i cannot stay with this unstable ROM for long. any help is hugely appreciated.

from what i can see you need a stable custom ROM with nice Features, i recommend you Cyanogen Mod 10 Jelly Bean... i Have it on my XPERIA ARC S and it works perfectly with no detected bugs, only one thing that i dont care about is that no more HDMI setting... the prcedure is quit easy and if you got stuck you can go back and ask for help, i dont think you can brick your phone if you follow steps and make a minor mistake.. if you would like to try, i can help you in everything, and please hit "THANKS" if i helped

Install Cm10, nice, no bugs so far, check forums for your device.
I have searched everywhere and didn't find anything related to my phone.
So I have a Galaxy SII (GT-I9100) running CyanogenMod 10 and I want to install BLN. I found Siyah Kernel on the net and it supports BLN.
Now my questions are:
1: Will flashing Siyah Kernel wipe my files? I can't afford that right now.
1b: What will happen with my CM10 rom? I read about dual boot, but I am really stuck, I wish to have one ROM and not two.
2: Can I use the latest Siyah Kernel for this? At gokhanmoral website.
3: What will change? I am running CM10 (see picture attached).
4: Is battery life really improving?
5: Is there any change I brick my phone losing all data?
Thanks in advance,
Nerminzz.

2) Yes you can
3) Your kernel will change
4)No comments
5) You wont brick your phone if you follow the instructions
I just flashed it, went suprisingly fast. Thanks for the answers, BLN is working! :good:

It's the fault of the kernel, not of the ROM. First flash the Stock kernel, then save all contacts in the sd-card and flash Custom kernel again. Then import all contacts from sd-card into internal memory.
And it's not JB, we even haven't JB. It's still 2.3.6 Gingerbread.

1. Yes, look at the screenshots in the dev thread
2. If it isn't smooth enough for you, install a custom kernel like Boeffla and try different governors to find the best suited for your expected smoothness/battery saving expectations. Try also not to have to much apps running at the same time, try Greenify it's great.
3. All popular kernels are great, and the settings you choose can change a lot the performance and battery saving of your phone.
Thank you for your response
1. Yes i know, that's the question how to do it? Because I've got 4x5 i my rom.
2. Can i flash it without rom, just kernel? (+ wipe dalvic?)
I've instelled UPSM manager, but i don't see any changes? Greenify is better and is it the same app?
3. I should instal this one "Kernel version 7.x is only for ported Samsung based Kitkat 4.4.4 roms (e.g. back-to-n00t)"

1. I don't know then. Why don't you try this rom if you think you'll like it?
2. You could, but first you need root and a custom recovery (if not already done). Greenify put apps running in background in hibernation, read its description.
3. If you read the OP, there are versions for 4.1, 4.3, 4.4.2 and 4.4.4
1. I've already installed this rom "Blekota Note 4 lite" , and as you see there is 5x5 on ss. But in my phone I've got 4x5.
And now I'm interested in how to set 5x5?
2. Already done all of stuff root + custom. I've already installed in my phone this ROM
The question is that is it possible without flashing all (rom + kernel), just kernel?
Greenify put apps running in background in hibernation, read its description.

Ok, so i try this one.
3. I've read all this stuff and faq, thx
BTW: It's not my first custom rom (and as you can see I do not know everything), but I had no need to register on this site beacuse site is free. And now I need to get 10 posts to write in direct topic
So I ask about that here.
1. Still don't know how?
For others,
2. Yes, you can flash kernel but restriction is to have the same Rom (4.4.4 -> 4.4.4) It concerns Boeffla Kernel
3. I think Boeffla Kernel is better than stock or arter kernel.

The 10 post rule applies only for development threads. Each ROM has its development thread and its Q&A thread. So you can ask questions about a ROM in its Q&A thread even if you don't have 10 posts yet.
If you want advices on how to write 10 posts without spamming, read this and that.
