[Q] Bad signal after Root and ROM?! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello, I'm new to the forum and am stumped. I consider I have skill using google and searching forums but I have not found any answers to my problem.
I have recently rooted my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and installed CarbonROM. I tried a few Eclipse (Elemental X) right away and wasn't to thrilled about them until I came across Carbon.
I love Carbon and its features but now I have noticed my signal is terrible. It does not go over 2 bars, and only in 3g. I used to have 4g and minimum of 3 bars where ever I go (with the few exceptional places when hunting and traveling etc). My WiFi still works but Verizon network is slow.
I've read similar posts regarding APN, my phone shows no APNs.
Also radio updates but settings shows I have VRAMC3, thats the latest correct?

[Q] Renovate Final 3 Rom - WIFI and TCP troubles

Hi, maybe this is not right place for such post, but for now until i have posted 8 messages I'm unable to post in other threads, i think so.
A few days ago i have moved from stock rooted rom to Renovate Final 3. The reason was simple - i need OTG cable working. I prefered this rom because the reviews and benchmarks was quite good (Quadrant 7000+ in comparison with 5000+ on old ROM). Also i like blue theme.
The roubles i noticed staight after installation. Wifi signal was very weak in comparison with previews ROM. I diggend inside advanced wifi settings and found opion "Best Wi-Fi performance" and switched it on. This helped but not so much.
Other troubles i faced with when I've set u PPTP vpn connection. It connecting without problems but doesn't work at all.
After this i've installed terminal emulator from the market ran ping yahoo.com . no problem. then i ran ping 127.0.0.1 - loss 100%
ping my wifi ip adress - the same issue - loss 100%. what it could be ? some kind of internal firewall that block my local icmp echo requests or what? I have twice full - formatted all partitions, full-wiped my One x, and reinstalled Renovate rom, but the issue still the same. I think something wrong with this kernel or rom? Does anyone faced the same problems? What suggestions will be?
Kind regards,
Greg

CM10.1 phone app crashes on outgoing calls

Hi!
Problem
First: Sorry, i couldn't find any similar threads on this topic. (even on google)
I have a huge problem with my i9300 on outgoing calls! Whenever i attempt to make a call (dial number manually or dialling through contacts), the phone app crashes instantly after hitting the green call button. (means: in a split second there is a complete white screen visible, and after this im always back at the home screen or at the app drawer).
This happens since i've updated my Cyanogenmod 10.1 Nightlies from March, XX.2013 to June, 17.2013 (Since there are no stable versions up to now) After this i have updated to 18.06.2013 and after this to 23.06.3013. (Unfortunately the problem still exists.)
Incoming calls therefore work fine.
How i tried to fix it
1. Reflash newer Nightly ROMS (CM10.1 for i9300) numerous times.
2. In CWM Recovery: Wipe Cache Partition & Dalvik Cache
3. In Settings > Apps > All deleted Phone App Data and Cache.

Questions
If nothing helps:
1# Is there any chance to get older Nightly versions? (Since the cyanogenmod page is not keeping Nightlies older than 1 week etc.)
2# If older nightlies exist. Can i just reflash an older nightly version over a newer one without loss of data? (like a regular CM10.1 update)
Thank you in advance!
Greetings
you didn't try factory reset right?

[Q] Rooting an S2 - Can someone check I have this correct?

I am looking to root my UK Galaxy S2 with the best backup/recovery options included;
Code:
Model number GT-l9100
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version l9100XXMS
Kernel Version: 3.0.31 – 1211311 [email protected] #3. SMP PREEMPT Thu May 16 10:05:20. KST 2013
Build number JZO54K.l9100XWLSW)
From a few days worth of reading it seems as if the best option is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270 (PhilZ-cwm6 - Safe Stock Based Kernel Featuring PhilZ Touch 6
(Enhanced CWM v6.x, now with exFat+ext4+NTFS support)
The part I would like someone to confirm for me if possible is that the correct file to do this for my specific phone/kernel/etc would be the PhilZ-cwm6-XWLSW-XEU-5.06.1-signed.zip found here http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=17703#files
I believe it to be that based on the "LSW" in the build number - have I deduced this correctly..?
Thought it would be best to try to get it confirmed as most of the guides refer to the kernel code (XWLPX-NEE in that example) not `build number` when they talk about it. Still picking my way through the terminology.
Correct.
It is sufficient that flash the root for your build, nothing more. However i think it is correct

First Questions, China - Clones

Hello everyone,
For several months I've been following the posts here in the forum and had always the impression that here useful
Information can be found. But with my smartphones I did'nt come further on. I'm just not sure because I
previously had a simple and untapped mobile. Android is also new to me, such as the operation of the devices.
On top of that I have no idea what in fact the devices are and how I could find out. For this it seems to me, must be
the first important step eg to connect the phone to the PC. - Clear that I need a drive, but what kind of?
What I tried so far, unfortunately, failed.
I received both devices as a gift and in both cases it is a Samsung Galaxy - Clone, that were purchased in China.
What I have noticed so far, is the constant change of the MAC - addresses, which always attracts new IP addresses to itself.
The latter I have to delete every few days in the home network overview of my router, which is quite annoying.
I would like to change this, but I read that root privileges are needed for.
I know now that therefore apps are existing and also that they can not be used with any device.
Also, I think I can remember that the smartphone must be connected for this purpose via USB, which in turn requires drivers
the need to adapt. My PC recognizes the smartphones currently not at all, so I would be grateful for any help.
Perhaps someone here knows, which devices it could be, what drivers are to use and how I can get root privileges.
The only information that I can do to the equipment, are those that can be read directly on the device, because to packaging really
everything seems like Samsung - made originals. Therefore, here are a few information that may be useful perhaps:
1. Samsung Galaxy S4 clone (GT i9500)
Over the phone:
- Model Number: GT-I9500
- Android Version: 4.4.4
- Baseband - Version: I9500XXUAMDE, 03/07/2014 11:17
- Kernel - Version: 3.4.5
root @ Sanstar desktop # 1
Fri Mar 7 13:59:02 CST 2014
- Build - Number: JDQ39 I9500XXUAMDE
- Customize build version: 1395388007
2. Samsung Galaxy S5 Clone (SM-G900)
Over the phone:
- Model Number: SM - G900
- Android Version: 4.4.2
- Baseband - Version: G900ZCUBMI3
- Kernel - version: 3.4.0-1590669

Wed May 28 10:25:51 CST 2014
- Build - Number: KOT49H.G900DKEU1ANCC
- Customize build version: KOT49H0528
So I hope that I' m half right at this point in the forum.

Hi all..
I have picked up a cheapie smart phone - a Dixon W510D.

What custom roms could I use? What would a known brand equivalent be?

And help on this would be great!
