The 4.4 update didn't include the Google experience launcher that the Nexus 5 has, which was sad for those of us that wanted the swipe to the left google now feature. Well I just figured that if I get the launcher off my SGSII's 4.4 ROM and send it to my Nexus 10 it would work.. and it did!
Steps:
Download the launcher (link)
Install it onto your Nexus 10
Set it as default!
Simple as that.

What's the best launcher for an Android 2.2 tablet?
And is it possible to get Honeycomb features?
- like the better gmail app
- and the better keyboard.
Many thanks
You could check out this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1046302 or search for one on the market. It's all based on preference. Also, the answer to your question is NO. A launcher CANNOT add features* to your device. It can add the looks of a new OS (not counted as feature here) but it won't add the features you're asking for (like getting a new gmail app. If you want a better keyboard, then why not get one from the market?). In order to get the features you want, you have to change your rom (Whether custom or official) to a Honeycomb rom if there is any available for your device.
Hello
I'm a big fan of Samsungs Hardware but never liked touchwiz. The hings that annoy me most are the launcher and the Email(Exchange) App.
Is there a way to use the Vanilla ICS pendants without switching completely to cyanogen (when it once will be available)? I would like too keep the few nice add ons by Samsung.
Thx for hints
You could try an alternative ICS launcher such as Nova https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en. Hope that helps some.
An alternative launcher will definitely get you away from much of the touchwiz experience but you will still be stuck with Samsung's email, calendar, etc apps. Take a look in the SGS3 Themes and Apps section. I believe someone there has created a flashable zip to replace the Samsung stock apps with the ICS ones.
Thanks both of you. Nova does the trick for now.
I also flashed the ICS Email but it did not want to work. Guess I'll wait for CM then.
cheers
Suppose that Google sells the phone for the end user, without undergoing any other company like Sansung for example. What is the ICS launcher original design straight from google?
Ex: A Samsung has as the original Twiz
The HTC is the sense?! (never had one)
And google? What is the original launcher, without anyone change? Either there is a project launcher official for google ? Or its not cause its open source and only 3rd dev create an custom launcher? I cant believe that Google doesn't have an oficial launcher write by Google itself.
I saw somewhere that talking is Holo, but then I saw the holo to download more like a custom.
I searched here but did not find ... someone can take my doubt?
Just flash a AOSP clean rom and you will have stock Android with stock launcher.
Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher are pretty much 'stock', although it isn't officialy from Google itself.
AOSP roms like CyanogenMod come with Trebuchet Launcher, it's not from Google.

"Holo" is just the name of the UI theme Google introduced with Android 4.0 ICS; it's not a launcher. I think the default Google launcher is called the same as the default CM launcher but I could be wrong. It could possibly be a nameless launcher simply referred to as "stock launcher". I mean, why not? Google doesn't need to name Android's default launcher.
Before I moved to 5.1.1 I had been using a 5.0.1 6x6 Launcher mod from the Sprint Note 4 forum which I liked very much, but won't work on 5.1.1
I have been looking everywhere for a similar mod for 5.1.1 but cannot find any (yet).
I am currently surviving with the Note 5 launcher in 5x5 mode, but that's not quite what I want and it has some quirks (no wrap around scrolling for instance).
At this point, I've decided I'd decompile my current launcher and modify it to suit my needs, but cannot find any reference on what parameters I should modify, and where, to achieve the desired result. Following available tutorials on modding previous launcher versions just don't work here.
Does anyone around know where I could find that information? For the Note 4 5.1.1 stock launcher (and the Note 5 one too actually, since I have that installed currently)?
thanks in advance!
Come on man does anyone have an idea?
No one knows?
I've recently updated my rooted Nexus 5 to Android 6.0.1 and so the Google Sound Search widget changed.
Shouldn't it be quite easy to install an older version of the app to also get the old widget back?
