My father-in-law has a samsung galaxy s3 i9300 and yesterday he has sudden shutdown and when he turn on the phone, the model display and after that the logo of samsung stay forever.
What can we do?
it could simply be a boot loop
to fix
go to recovery mode
volume up+home+power buttons together
then click on wipe data factory reset
be advised that this will delete all messages contacts and applications
Sudden shut down can cause partition corruption, try the above first but you may have bigger problems.

I have got a Samsung Galaxy Note GT N7000. My friend has actually made an update (claims to), and now my phone won't boot! I get the first Screen as
"Samsung Galaxy Note GT N7000" after which the Samsung logo splash should follow, but simply doesn't. All I get is a black screen. With the Volume Down + Power + home I get the "Downloading Do Not Turn Target off" and it just stays that way, I don't really think it is actually downloading anything. With Volume Up + Power + Home I get "Manual Mode" of some recovery mode. Wherein I have
Reboot
Update from External SD
Update from Cache
Wipe External SD
Wipe Cache
Reboot just simply does the same, I get a black screen after Samsung Galaxy screen. What could be wrong with my phone? I have no idea, help please.
Edit:
I have Odin downloaded, and in the Download Mode, I get that COM:ID port added, but I have no clue where to proceed from there on.

Even i faced the same issue on factory firmware. And was able to get my phone started after wiping the cache and data in recovery mode.
i have the same issue with you. It's solved by flash new rom.

Thnks. Getting a little bit nervious (ive been having a little too much fun putting different roms...and $%$#% was ment to happen...). So that did the trick.
ODIN <--- Stock Firmware <--- Stuck on Logo <-- Recovery <--- Factory Reset and Cache...
Presto...working again!
Thnk you
Hi, my sisters S3 on Vodafone is stuck on the logo at boot, it flashes every few seconds.
It has never been modified or flashed in anyway!
Prior to this happening, it used to freeze randomnly while in use and now this, how can I fix this, also how can I recover the data if I need to factory reset it?
Can I access the internal storage to backup everything?
You can't access internal storage, no.
Boot into download mode (vol down + home + power) after a battery pull. Please post what it says on the screen.

I rooted my phone without any trouble for months, and its been working just fine, until now! Then, I had to do a factory reset. The normal procedure, SETTINGS> PRIVACY> factory reset. The phone then never got past the boot logo. It starts to load, and just gets stuck at the Samsung logo, and nothing else. there's two lights glowing from the capacitive buttons, and that's all. I'm on 4.1.2 JB stock rom. Later, I tried to enter recovery mode, and did a wipe, and cleaned cache partition also. AND, the phone just sprung to life, the whole first time set up thing. I started filling in stuff and the phone just shut down again, and if I tried to reboot again, it doesn't get past boot logo. But if I wipe n do it, it happens but shuts down immediately Please help!!

Boot into download mode, get a stock rom from Samfirmware, flash it with Odin (How ? Thread stickied near top of Q&A).
Hey everyone, here's my problem
The device:
Galaxy S3 running Android 4.1.2
I'm running the Samsung based firmware, I have rooted the phone long before.
The problem:
My phone keeps randomly crashing / rebooting into a boot loop.
Once the phone crashes, it shows the boot screen saying "Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300". Usually, this screen remains while "Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300" keeps flashing.
Sometimes, pressing the power button while the boot screen is flashing helps and the phone starts.
Sometimes, I have to take the battery out to turn off the phone. Once the phone is off, pressing the power button helps and the phone starts.
So far I've tried the following to no avail:
* Enter recovery mode and clear cache
* Enter recovery mode and wipe all data
Any idea how to fix this? I'm pretty surprised that wiping all data didn't help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Factory reset you should try

I have done factory reset..even tried other rom to know whether rom causes problem!
on one thread i found its the power button is causing as it is faulty !
Can power button cause infinite boot loop ( i mean that samsung logo keep on blinking, after removing battery it will work ) ?
You are posting in the wrong forum.
Multiple Bootloop posts use search before posting .
Suggest you wipe phone flash stock rom and test but read the faqs and guides first .
i own a samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 gt-p5110 , i got it off my cousin who doesnt know anything about tablets etc.. she told me it just broke.
now what the tablet does is when ever i press the power button to power on, galaxy logo appears as normal and it goes straight into recovery mode.
things i tried:
wipe factory data
tried wipping cache but tablet said "error" and rebooted so i installed twrp custom recovery and wiped cache with no problems this time, but table issue didnt solve
flashed stock firmware via odin ( 2 different ones) stil same issue after succecifull flash, tablet would reboot and the green android man would appear saying "updating" but then would say "error" and reboot back to stock recovery with "no command" at the buttom of screen.
any help highly appreciated.
