[Q] Slow System Glitch, System App Crash - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The problem in my phone before is a slow menu swipe. It occurs to me the time I updated to Jellybean. Not only that is happening but whenever I exit an app, it keeps going back to the first page of the menu. What is also occurring is it keep saying in a random time "Favorite Apps has been crashed". After 2 months, weird thing is happening my phone suddenly, it stop getting the bug of the menu, it isn't slow anymore and the Favorite App crash is lessen BUT my home button is suddenly dying. Literally dying. When I first noticed that and when I click my home button to wake my phone up, it did not respond and if I click it a little bit longer it response. It is slowly dying each hr, the more hr is passed, more secs I need to press and suddenly after the day my home button is dead. When you click the home button, it isn't broken. When you press it feels normal and no broken parts and can click normally but the problem is the phone isn't responding to it anymore and my phone isn't slow all of a sudden after the button is dead. My phone became 2x faster after the button died. Any of you guys know why?

[Q] Touchscreen stopped working. - solved

I was reading a book and the screen just stopped responding to finger touches, I think a reset might fix it but I can't switch it off. Long press on the off switch gives me the Android power options but of course I can't select any of them.
Any ideas? apart from waiting for the battery to go dead.
/edit solved it, long press of power and center button uintil you see the HP logo. I thought there might be some Android specific way.
For touchscreen not responding, I often just click power button to turn off the screen, then home to wake it up. That seems to fix it more often than not.
Next time you need to reboot, just hold down Home + Power for 10+ seconds

Often Phone Goes Black! Power Button Doesn't Work!

Facing a strange problem for the last couple of days! Often when I take my phone after 2/3 hours power button simply doesn't wake up phone! Even pressing it for 10/15 secons doesn't reboot. I've to remove the battery & after setting the battery again the power button reboots the phone!
Strange Problem! :'(

Unresponsive Home button

Hey guys, I have a question.
Is it normal when your screen is locked then you press the home button to power up the screen then nothing will happen then when you press it again it will show the lockscreen?
Although its not happening always, just sometimes Im still woried.
Is it happening to you also sometimes? Thank you.
Is it just there is a delay, or is it not appearing at all?
Its not appearing at all. It happens sometimes, maybe once a day or 2.
The guy on another thread said it is normal.

Solution for Random Reboots(MOTO E)

I have been playing with my MOTO E for quite a few days.
The ONE thing that kept bothering me for all these days were the Random Reboots.
After trying many thing finally I have come up with a practical solution to this problem.
I have been having random reboots with the Stock Rom as well as other Custom Roms. Usually while pressing the power button the power menu used to appear for few seconds and then without pressing anything the phone to restart, and this happened with the stock rom as well as other custom roms. I had contacted Motorola, they had asked me to boot into SAFE mode and see if the problem persisted , and it did. So I started using the trail and error method and what I found out that it's a hardware issue, or a issue with how our power button works.
SOLUTION :
So basically what I did is I replaced the power button with the Volume buttons for waking up the device, and for putting it to sleep i assigned the pull up gesture(which is usually for launching google now). I assigned the sleep function in CM11 for the pull up gesture(if you are using the stock rom you'll need to use screen lock apps which allows that function).
After applying this, I have been using my phone for about a month now, WITHOUT a single random reboot.
This is a simple yet effective solution.
Hopefully this'll help you and save you those annoying random reboots.
Can you please explain in detail ? I am using stock rom, and my phone reboots randomly few times a day.

Use "Pocket Lock" application to lock and unlock/wake your device instead of the power button and check if the problem persist...!!
Hello,
as I was going mad with the "Power Button random reboot", I discovered your helpful post. I didn't know it was possible to set the phone to wake up on volume buttons. On the other hand CM allows you to put your phone in sleep mode touching the notify bar twice.
Half a day with these settings, it seems good, Moto E has a real problem with power button, now I have to control myself not to touch it anymore !
Thanks.

Issue has been solved but looking for explanation

So my friend's stock s3 started randomly rebooting recently and just couldn't get to the home screen without many tries. And it got worse this morning as she had spent about an hour to no result. The problem is the phone would keep rebooting during the GT-I9300 screen.. Most of the time it wouldn't get to the Samsung boot animation.. If I charged it, the battery logo would be shown as loading instead of charging.. After trying the hard reboot combination a few times which didn't work, I noticed that I could see the battery with green bar every time I pressed the power button!
So I tried something silly.. I kept pressing the power button repeatedly during boot and surprisingly it booted up to the home screen. However, without being charged, the phone would still suffer from boot loops (at that moment we confirmed that the pressing power button repeatedly would 100% work) . As we were desperate to understand the problem, I got to know some apps that she installed recently and uninstalled them. These are the apps that she recently installed and later uninstalled:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=vStudio.Android.Camera360
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fourricegroup.mc
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.naturalmotion.clumsyninja
Guess what?! The bootloop has not happened till now! So the reason I'm writing this post is because of curiosity xD
1. How does pressing the power button repeatedly help the phone to boot up? If I stop pressing it before the locksreen, it would fail.
2. Can an app really cause a weird issue like this? Or is it just a coincidence that the phone magically got better after uninstalling the apps?
Hope to get some answer from you guys for learning purposes thanks in advance!
Sounds like your power button is faulty.
