[Q] Galaxy s2 cwm not working fine - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello poeple. I have one two big problems and i dont know what to do, about 3 weeks i downloaded a 4.4 kitkat rom for my gs2 and it wasn't working fine i've got some bugs, now i want to install new update but i cant because of that cwm 6.0.44, its not booting any sd card or internal. 2nd problem that i have is my usb not working... my phone is charging but i cant use it with pc, it charges with ANY pc that i have but they cant identify device and this problem is not rom fault because it didnt worked long time ago too. any solutions? is there any way to install new cwm without odin or using pc?
P.S. sorry for my bad english i hope you will understand

Use Rom manager to flash rom of cwm not work correctly. (need custom recovery and root to use app)
Or flash a recovery with odin

oh, forgot to tell. Your pc is recognizing it as unknown device.
Open device manager and you will see your phone (must be connected).
Open it and update drivers.
If that fails, (re)install kies.

No......DON'T use ROM manager.....it has been known to cause problems on the S2....not worth the risk.....
And get that USB port replaced BEFORE you attempt to flash anything else......if a flash goes bad, you will NEED that connection between your phone and your PC / laptop in order to recover your phone with Odin.......
If you search for threads created by me, you will find a guide that tells you all you need to know about replacing this part........
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM

Galaxy s2 odin error

I tried to flash a firmware via odin and it stucks to factoryfs.img.now i cant open my phone. When im flashing every firmware va odin it stucks at factoryfs.img.i tried to wipe everything from the stock recovery and retry but i had no success.when im flashing kernels i have no error.so i was wondering if i could flash cf-root and then when i will be into recovery push files via adb to internal sdcard.is this possible?if yes tell me how.If not tell me other ways to unbrick my device
Which firmware did you try? Try to flash a stock firmware. Go here and pick up the latest ROM and follow the instructions it is very well explained

Good luck

i flashed a stock firmware.i tried this and i had no result.if you can answer this i told about cwm and adb i would be very happy
try another cable.
I had similar problem because of a poor cable ordered from e-bay.
even if you are using the stock cable, try another one as it might be damaged.
gokhan thanks for your help but it didn't work.if i format the /system partition will i be able to get into download mode?
I don't see how you could get Odin to recognise your phone in order to format the system partition if you weren't able to get into download mode.
So I guess I'll play Captain Obvious...Can you get into download mode ?
If not, does Odin recognise the phone when you hook the phone up to a PC via a USB cable ? (a long shot I know but I'm trying to think of anything that might work here).

You really need to start giving more information.
Excactly what rom did you tried to flash? And yes, you can just flash CF-Root and start flashing from recovery. If it is possible to push the files true adb, I don't know. But you will have adb for sure in recovery.
And why are you flashing? It looks like you have really no idea what you are doing.
the problem is solved.i flashed a cwm 9 rom via odin and now im ok.now im flashing chechrom.i had checkrom and i undervolted too much.the phone closed but accidenatly i had ticked the set on bot button.my external sd is broken and i didnt have a checkrom backp into my internal sdcard.so i decided to flash an official firmware and then flash again checkrom.this is the story but now my problem is solved so you can lock the thread.thank you all

[Q] Flash new ROM without USB ?

I was wondering if there is a way to flash new ROM without connecting my phone through USB to the computer and using Odin (because I'm on a business trip at the moment and I don't have USB cable with me.. I wanted to try out some things on my phone (I only have lap top with me so I would transfer the downloaded ROM over the Wi Fi to my phone) I would need a program or something to be on my phone which could install new ROM from my SD Card directly... I've tried ROM Manager but there's no support for my Galaxy S+ ... It is rooted and with 2.3.5 version of Android.... Hope someone can clear this out for me or help me if there's a way. I was looking for a solution on this forum but I couldn't find a direct answer for my phone... Thank you!
You can download Mobile Oden. Paid should do both kernels and rom's if I'm not correct and I know free only does kernel. But if you can get the kernel you want installed then just boot to recovery and install rom from there. This also avoids incrementing the flash counter
if you have clockworkmod on your phone then just use your phones internet browser and find the rom you want, download it and then you boot into cwm. flash and your done.
There is a Modded Clockworkmod for your SGS+ it's called FearMod, but the problem is, you need odin for one time!
This is the thread where all you need for your SGS+ is summarized http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409605
Use Wifi Explorer
The thing is that I cannot install CWM mode without usb cable...and I think I "ruined" my stock recovery mode with ROM manager... I can't get into a working recovery mode on my phone to install the .zip file either way.. I don't uderstand how can I use Wi Fi Explorer (which I have) for installing a new ROM ? .. I need a working usb connection for Odin... and I think that mobile Odin doesn't support SGS+ ...
Will ROM Toolbox work maybe ? Tested with S+ or not ?

1st Download these apps.
Mobile Odin Light
AndroZip File Manager (Or any other app to extract files)
2nd Use your Extractor App and open your Kernel.zip and extract zImage and put it somewhere this is what you are going to flash.
3rd Go to Mobile Odin (Will be prompted to install add-ons just cancel it)
4th Select the kernel which will be the zImage you extracted.
5th It will then install the kernel you have chosen and now you just gotta boot into recovery mode and install the Rom from there
If you need anymore help just PM me or email me ([email protected]

I think there is no way without support by odin mobile or with out cwm...
you have to wait till your home again :/
Ok if that is the final answer and there is no other solution no problem.. I'll wait... If anybody else maybe knows something more please leave a reply...
It's really a pitty that SGS+ is not supported on so many apps...
I know but the Positive thing is every time you go to xda watching for your sgs+ there are more and more roms

stuck in recovery in my i9100G

hi guys i know u are sensitive to asking without searching and all that stuff....But i only came here and posted this question after making sure that i have a unique problem....that no one out of all members of XDA had ever faced or at least never discussed.....and before u blame me for not asking that question on the i9100G subforum....well it happens to be a development forum where i cant post till i have 10 posts at least......
without any further bla bla bla....my problem is "i just bought a new samsung galaxy s II i9100g....after trying the GB with the touchwiz....i realized that it is horrible so i decided to install a custom rom.....which turned out to be a one impossible mission.....i went for the JB roms for i9100g downloaded all on my internal storage.....also had cwm superatmos and team win recovery project and lucifr and horsepower kernels on my internal storage......but after rooting i did something stupid which is apply /sdcard/update.zip.....i had previously renamed the horsepower kernel from horsepower-3.0.0-jb.zip to update.zip when i failed to read anything from my internal storage - i know what caused that now btw- but now the problem is after installing horsepower and installing PARANOIDANDROID 4.1.1 hp rom and wiping cache and factory reset....i reboot system but it just powers off and doesnt reboot....when i turn it on......i go back to recovery......same problem happens when i flash the ClockworkMod Recovery 5 and then install the CyanogenMod 10 or other aosp JB roms......it always return to the recovery mode and i cant even recognize the kernel in the recovery all it says is CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.3.....What should i do?
*Note :
Things that i can do....flashing using odin and istalling from internal storage
Things that i cant do any more....mount usb storage (so now i cant put the stock firmware on my internal storage)....i cant mount the external sd card.....i can mount system and data but they get unmounted once i reboot.....i cant access system by powering the mobile i go straight to the recovery.....i cant find a firmware that comes in .tar extension....also it was mentioned in several posts to help solve similar problems.
sorry for not keeping it short.....but the problem is complicated.....u gonna say how do u know its complicated....i ve been fixing htc and sony android software for 2 years...as a hobby not a job..i fixed about 30 bricked phones and tweaked 50 phones with mods and custom roms and other stuff...and yet i stand helpless and stuck with that phone which ironically not a friend's or contact's but mine
U can acces download mode right?
Sent from my GT-I9100G using xda premium
IF u still can enter recovery so download mode is probably still working . Just flash another rom for i9100g using odin . It should be a .tar file ,
ease flash a 4.0.3 rom . DO NOT FLASH ANY 4.0.4 rom , i got mine bricked last week because of thatP

Sorry for the late reply.
I'll advise you go back to stock and start all over again.
Since you can't mount usb storage, you are going to flash your phone via Odin.
Solution:
1. Download .tar stock ICS firmware for GT I9100G here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9100G&pcode=0&os=1&type=1#firmware
-Download the closest firmware to your region,
2.
-Boot your phone to CWM recovery
-wipe data/factory reset
-format /system (under mount and storage)
3.
-prepare Odin
-flash the firmware you downloaded
If you don't know how to flash through Odin, let me know. I'll link Odin tutorials to you if needed.
Good luck

Ok.
1. The reason why I didn't recommend CWM recovery mode was because you said you can't mount usb storage, which means that you can't copy a downloaded ROM to your phone.
2. The reason why I didn't recommend flashing another kernel via Odin was because, I don't want you to increase your binary counter. It's harder to reset it for your phone then mine.
Anyway, I wish luck.

I Need Help To UnBrick My Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830

Ok so I am new to Custom ROMs and I installed a ROM called Nexus v.1.0, I think it is JellyBean v4.3.3 or something. I rooted my phone first and dowloaded an app to check if it was rooted. It said Yes so I proceeded to flash Nexus onto my device. It installed correctly but now when I switch on my phone, it just stops on the screen where it says Android. It doesn't go any further no matter how long I wait. I didn't use Titanium or ClockWork or any of those other things while doing this. What do I do? :crying:

Problem is I don't have the stock ROM and to put the Stock ROM on my SD Card I need to be able to get past the boot screen on my phone so I can connect it to my PC. So I need to get a download of the Stock ROM and I need to be able to put it on my SD Card without connecting my phone to my PC.

I know but for your device to show up on Odin you have to get on your phone and give it permission to connect to the PC. Since I can't get past the boot I can't give it access so it can't connect to my PC.

Help with bootlooped galaxy tab 10.1

Hello, I am searching for help with my bootlooped galaxy tab 10.1
It's stuck on the secondary logo that is a glowing
"samsung"
I have clockwork recovery installed along with correct usb drivers.
Samsung kies does not recognize device.
Odin crashes when attempting to load files.
I have a quality usb cable
Model # is gt-p7510ma ,no SD card option.
Did you recently flash a new ROM to cause it to boot loop, if not, what were you doing that caused you to reboot the device? If unsure, try using Logcat to see what is causing the problem.
If you have a backup, try wiping device and restoring from that, or if you did flash a rom right before try wiping and flashing another to see if that is the problem.
Odin crashes when attempting to load files.
Use Latest version of Odin , Reinstall your phone drivers , when you put files make sure you put in right place and let him a while to load that files don't touch anything . Once is finish with loading then put your galaxy in to the Download mode and connect on PC .
I received it in this condition. I was able to put clockwork on it through odin but not the stock rom I think. Odin crashes when trying to put the regular tar file on it. I'm not opposed to using rom either. I was told the tablet is rooted and given passwords/pin #for whatever.

Then I think is problem with your PC , and that way your Odin is crash.
Use CCleaner to repair and Clear Registry , Reboot your PC and try again if not , try on another PC .
Other phones connect to it and I was able to put clockwork recovery on it through doin. It only crashes when I try to put a stock rom on it
