What's the point of system>apps>boot up?? - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Ok so I was just looking thru my root files and I found several apps in this directory,
Why are they there?
I had already uninstalled a lot of bloat including these.
So can we uninstall them?
Any feedback is highly appreciated :thumbup:

It's for LG ApplicationBox App (Can't remember this app name) in stock rom or stock based rom. If you open that app and select install, all it do is create an app link in /data/app/[app-name].apk to app in that folder. If you don't use it, you can delete that app in this folder.

Thanks, I just went ahead and deleted all of them lol

you have the same phone as me so I have a question. I deleted facebook, and I was wondering if you know how to put it back on and show in the download section of app settings and make it say uninstall updates instead of uninstall?

Flash your phone with kdz and a differente firmware.
There's good news, a downgrade to 2.2 from 2.2.1 isn't really necessary for rooting. I followed the instructions over on the android central forums in their Optimus V section. Just follow the directions and you'll be rooted in no time.
Optimus V=Optimus One?
And @blaqbird: Are you sure there won't be any problems?
Optimus V is different. It doesn't have the same hardware as Optimus One.

Yep I'm sure. I followed the directions exactly using the tools they recommended you get and got my phone rooted in minutes. I'm already running Titanium Backup, Superuser and AutoKiller, all of which require rooting.
Worked! But rom manager won't now Any luck anyone?

[Q] CAN ANYBODY HELP ME!!!! phone bricked!!

i have an lg optimus s and i rooted it with gingerbreak and everything was fine. i downloaded and installed root tools and put on another boot animation which worked fine. but i did not backup my stock boot animation. later i was viewing apps that were already installed on my phone and deleted some i didnt think were neccassary. like voice dailer live wallpapers and sprint id etc. right after that i couldnt get anything started. like marketplace or bowser. everything kept force closing once i started it. so i restarted my phone and it kept on getting stuck on my boot animation. usually where the android shows but now its a matrix theme. so i factory reset my phone and reboot and i dont have a boot animation anymore and it still wont turn on. any suggestions?
Just now a realized you wrote optimus S. Nevermind...
You can use the method described in this thread to get the latest official ROM for your phone directly from LG then flash it using KDZ.
Use the method under the title "How to get stock FW, which should be in my device (FW that LG update tool provide me)" that worked for me some days ago.
Get KDZ from here: http://www.4shared.com/file/UleS4dP3/KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.html
I don't have a link for a guide on how to use KDZ, but I think is worth reminding you to disable the lg modem from the device manager in windows.

ok.. so......it wont open the file viewer for my phone
Use the link:
csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/svc/popup/model_check.jsp?model=<model_of_phone>&esn=<serial_number>.
I used the LG update mobile to see the Sprint/LG phones and I think the code is one of these:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
ok so the lg update connects to my phone and what do i do next?

Help rooting 5.0.1

Iv tried to root my my sprint lg g3 running stock 5.0. 1 many times. Using the one click root v1.2 v1.3. They both never root. Each time I have to manually put the phone in download mode. Then the script says found phone. Rooting. And stays there. Is there another method? Any YouTube videos? Iv searched and seems to be the 5.0.1 version is patched to the one click method? Thank you

This is what I'm getting. It will stay on rooting phone. When when I finally unplug it, it will state the rest. It never roots.

Seems like the latest version is 1.3. You may have to wait for newer version or downgrade back to zv4 to use Stump root.

Yeah 1.3 still didn't work. Anyone else having issues with this?

Hi guys, I also am having issues rooting 5.0.1 LGL990 I have tried every method for the LG G3 besides Stump root. Every method will get me to 90% or I can get to the Download software screen and then nothing happens. It is very frustrating
EDIT: Hey guys, I found the fix! I just did some searching in the forums and this is the fix for ZVA Lgg3!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...k-root-zva-t3141390/post61496776#post61496776
