[Q] Potential Brick: CM 10.1, shut off after Motorola logo - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey guys, looks like I may have done some serious damage here.
XT912, rooted with razr blade, using safestrap 3.65. Flashed the stable 10.1 CM and 08/2013 GAPPS from cyanogenmod.com. I used the safestrap advanced wipe, data, cache, dalvik cache, and system. Now, I just get the M for motorola, doesn't even get to SS splash screen. Also, I cannot hard boot into recovery with the buttons.
Does anyone have any ideas to help me out? Let me know if I need to provide more info.
Thanks!
Avery
UPDATE. I managed to unbrick it. It must have been only a soft brick. I finally got it to boot into AP Fastboot and used RSD to SBF back to JB.

[Q] How to recover from this soft brick? Please help!!!

Figured out that I posted in the wrong section(mods please remove that thread)
Ok guys..... newbie here .... literally I'm new to Boot unlocking, root, Flashing etc.
Anyway I have followed this forum for so long that I decided to take plunge yesterday and get my hands dirty.
Here is what I did:
Unlock bootloader, root and install recovery on my Atrix 4G. Atrix was @ 2.3.4 and 4.5.91 during unlocking & root(rooting & unlock from this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871)
Rebooted the phone and everything seems to be in place. Atrix loaded like the way I bought it 7 months back. No problem until now.
Also created a restore folder on my external SD. Worked fine and was successful in creating backup with time stamp
Now here are my steps and subsequent issues that I'm facing:
1. Downloaded CM9 zip file from this thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500535) along with Gapps to my external SD
2.Entered recovery mode during bootup and tried to flash CM9 and Gapps. Flashing seem to have gone well and completed (note I did not do clear data, clear cache or clear dalvik cache under advanced options being a newbie)
3. Reboot the phone and can only see red Moto logo and unlocked on top. Left for about 5 minutes and nothing happened.
4.Did a battery pull and entered recovery mode. wiped data, cache & cleared dalvik cache
5.Went to Install zip from sdcard option and tried to reflash CM9. Flashing seems to have gone well and completed
6. Reboot phone and again can only see Moto Red logo with unlock on top and nothing more.
7.Battery pull followed by recovery. But This time I tried to restore from my external SD. also wiped data, cache & dalvik cache
8.Restore took about 3 minutes and completed.
9.Reboot the phone. Now the phone boots and goes to Rethink possible screen and get sstuck.
10. Left it for 1 hr....nothing.
11.tried steps 7-9 again and still stuck in "Rethink possible" screen during boot.
12.Entered Recovery mode to try stable Nutrino ROM, same problem (stuck @ M logo screen which says unlocked)
13. Cleared data, cache and tried restore and now my phone boots up with flashing M screen.
What did I do wrong? Did I soft brick the phone? I can still enter recovery mode and read my internal and external SD and can see all files. i hope I didn't brick my phone doing this. If I did, I would regret!
Here are my options:
1.I know there is a way to hide 'unlock' during boot up (if someone can point to it obviously). Hide the 'unlock' and return the phone to ATT and tell them that phone would not boot after 2.3.6 update and get a refurbished one
Please let me know what your thoughts are. I'm currently crapping on my pants
Hmm... I would "fastboot -w", wipe cache/dalvik/data again, and try restoring your nandroid backup. (Or was that your Neutrino attempt?)
OR, do the wipe again and flash a 2.3.6 fruitcake to see if it boots normally. Just to see if there's some issue with your rom download or if it's really the phone.
The only way to hide the unlocked text is to flash an SBF using RSD Lite, which runs the risk of bricking your phone if you flash the wrong version.
Download a Fruitcake from here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009 and put it on your sdcard.
reboot to recovery
wipe dalvik
wipe cache
reboot to fastboot
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase webtop
fastboot erase preinstall
fastboot reboot (to recovery)
flash ROM
reboot
Let your phone sit until it boots up completely, then let it sit for another 10 minutes. Remember, your phone can take 15 minutes to boot up the first time after flashing a ROM, especially if a new kernel was flashed with it.
Yeah I would try a fast boot wipe the whole shabang fastboot -w and then fastboot erase preinstall
Then also erase boot
System
Cache
Userdata
Web top
Then go into cwm and do the wipes you've been doing then flash the rom

Think I covered all that already, and fastboot -w just wipes cache and userdata anyway, so no need to do a fastboot -w. What I have in the post before you is the cleanest way to wipe and flash a new ROM.
Thank you....I haven't tried the soft brick fix yet.
But from reading one other thread which had similar problem, it looks like after installing romracer's CWM, things got fixed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527453
Will be trying this tomorrow.
Hmm.. this thread seems to be dead..
This treads seems to be dead... I was hoping to get some help with some soft bricked atrix HD... any suggestions?

This is the Atrix 4G board, not Atrix HD.

Yeah i know, but what i want to know if this method is compatible with a soft bricked atrix HD becaused there isn't much info about this particular phone on the web.

No. Totally unreleated hardware. There's an Atrix HD section you can ask in over here, which you clearly already knew about because you've already asked your question in it. Why spam over here? I'm sure somebody who actually knows the device you have will answer your question, but this is not the place to ask it.
Edit: But feel free to flash an Atrix SBF/Fruitcake on your Atrix HD if you'd like to actually brick it.

You should take your question back to the HD Thread, a discussion at this one is TOTALLY off topic for this thread due to the entire device being different.
Thanks!

Help, Bootloop after flash with recovery.zip

Hi everyone, i show you my problem, yesterday i was installing the ics leak rom from T-mobile, at first time installation proceding fine, but multimedia apps didn't works, i tryed to re-flash by doing a second flash of update.zip by the recovery, but now the razr didn't start, he show only the logo M, after a black screen. I can go to the Flashboot, recovery the boot option.
I tried the Wipe cache, Wipe Data/Factory reset but nothing working.
I think that reflash via RSDlite or FlashlT with a ICS rom, the leak will solve this problem ?
Can everyone help me with this big problem ?
Thanks
There's an Thread in General section about saving a bricked Device after the Leak. I'm to lazy to post the Link now

[Q] No Boot on custom ROM's

I've rooted my Razr MAXX with both Motofail and Zergrush, and using Safestrap i've flashed Eclipse, Black Widow and Gummy ROM's (Also GSM Patch). Problem is that i just get a black screen and no boot with all of the ROM's.
Thought about using Bootstrap instead of Safestrap, but im afraid i can't do the easy reversion and ending up with a bricked phone, not even sure if that's the problem, can't see what im doing wrong here so i would really apricate some help!
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Using the recovery i've wiped data, cache and dalvik cache and formatted /system before every flash
Can't seem to install v.2.0 of Safestrap. And i can't get Bootstrap 1.0 or 2.0 to work, it just hangs at startup.
Do i have any alternatives ?

CDMA I guess... safestrap should work insted of bootstrap..Try to flash everything again, start with the 2.3.6 stock rom and go on step by step. Check if you got the latest safestrap version..
Found out Safestrap doesn't work on GSM phones! So after some researching i found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1558884
And i can run Bootstrap now after formatting /system. Now for the flashing

Your problem is that Safestrap doesn't work for the XT910(GSM) version of the Droid RAZR. As I understand it has to do with the size of the /preinstall folder.
Once you uninstall Safestrap and install Bootstrap it should work fine.

[Q] Razr Maxx xt912 safestrap New ROM won't get past boot screen

Hi Friends,
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Yesterday I rooted my RAZR Maxx and installed SafeStrap. I'm pretty sure I've got that part working correctly.
When i install a ROM to my Safe partition via SDCard, It says everything installed, but when it reboots and loads, it won't get past the boot animation.
Any ideas? I'm trying to get one of the experimental builds of CM10 to work on here.
Thanks

Before you flashed the rom did you do a full wipe? (factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, and wipe cache partition) was safe system enabled when you flashed? How long was it in a boot loop for? It does take a while for the system to boot the first time you boot up after flashing, Also what version of safestrap are you using?

I am using SafeStrap 2.11
I have tried doing all of the wipes before i reinstall it, and i can't see to get it to work. I left it in the boot loop for about half an hour (as long as i could stand it). I tried a couple of different ROMS with the same result.
I think I might have safestrap backwards. My unsafe partition is actually the one that's still working somehow, and my "safe" partition is the one that boot loops on me. I don't think it matters, but i could be wrong. Thoughts on that?
did you format system?
what build exactly?

[Q] Help! I messed up installing CM in my XT910

Hello guys, i didn't find any post with this issue so here i go:
I had my razr with the stock 4.1.2 (retail company: Claro (Argentina). It was lagging a bit sometimes so i wanted to give CM a try. I did this:
1) factory reset
2) installed safestrap (3.73 if i'm not wrong... i'll try to confirm that later... not at home right now)
3) booted to safestrap
4) wiped dalvik cache, android secur, cache, system, and something else the "how-to" tole me to
5) i flashed CM11 latest stable build (cm-11-20140804-SNAPSHOT-M9-umts_spyder) in stock rom (yeah i know probably not the smartest choice)... succes messege displayed
6) wiped dalvik and normal cache again
7) installed gapps
8)wiped again
9) intalled some kernel version FAIL MESSEGE
At this point i was going to reboot but safestrap said there was no OS installed so i did this:
1) create a new partition in slot 1
2) flash cm 11
3) rebooted (no "no os installed" messege this time)
The red M logo was displayed and then black screen.
I can boot it to recovery, fastboot etc ("power+vol up+vol down" menu).
I tried to wipe and reset from recovery but it didn't work and i also tried to flash my original 4.1.2 rom with RSD lite which failed at step 6/19 with no error code whatsoever.
Any idea how i might bring it back to life?
Hahaha hey Hermano, you´re in pretty trouble here huh?
So you´ve Installed the buggy CM in stock slot... Hope somebody can help you
I´m subscribed to this thread to see the solution, cause i was thinking to do the same
Don´t know if you solved your problem..
Anyway it looks like help
