I am a regular flasher. I currently had stock 4.0.4 rooted with stock recovery. I flashed Android Revolution HD v40 and it flashed successfully via mobile ODIN. After the restart, my screen gets struck on Samsung GT-I9300 display only. When i connect to download mode via odin, it does not detects the device and a "Gadget Serial" driver starts to install in the windows but it never installs and my device isn't getting detected. I am assuming that gadget serial is getting installed due to a corrupt IEMI. I have previously come across corrupted IEMI but found a solution for a working phone.
So my device isn't getting detected via odin and i dont have a custom recovery. Help me please.

I have already seen these posts sir but this is not my case. These do not offer a solution when you have stock recovery and when you cannot flash through Odin.

I am sure this might have been answered somewhere, but I couldnt find it after many hours of search.
I tried to install the ICS as mentioned by SamFirmware but it failed first time. Since then I can go to download mode but my computer / kies / odin does not detect my phone at all. Tried almost everything, restarting computer, different computer, drivers, kies reinstall uninstall...
nothing has worked.. I am being nervous whether this has any solution at all..

i select this option: 'RNDIS + DM + MODEM
and press ok.
meanwhile i installed the samsung usb drivers on my laptop.
i plugged in my phone when i was ready.
but in device manager it doesnt show up as serial com port.
it stays as an unknown usb device.
it tried several things.
installing software on desktop computer.
put it in modem or pda mode and the 2 combinations.

Hi all,
some days ago I got a Samsung S3 GT-I9300, it didin't charge battery or power ON at all .Now, after chancing the microUSB connector, phone is charging and working fine but , since some pads (which carry data+ and data - USB signals on motherboard) are irreparably damaged and I don't know any alternartive points, I can't interfacing it to a pc via USB (phone is not rooted). The problems is the mobile is pretty useless as is since no SIM is detected (IMEI is NULL/NULL),in the device infos I can read only:
BASEBAND UNKNOWN
ANDROID VERSION 4.1.2
KERNEL VERSION 3.0.31-1314436
BUILD VERSION JZO45K.I9300XXEMG4
What can i do?It would be possible to root it (and try some restore) without connecting it to a PC?Is JTAG the only chance?
Thanks in advance
Mobile odin is an app that acts just like odin on your phone, no need of a pc.
From there, you could flash a cwm based recovery to root it via a flashable zip.
You can try flashing new efsv2 firmwares (mg4 and up) to see if the imei gets fixed somehow.
However, since imei is null, probably a jtag is the only way to get it working again.

Hi and thanks for replying.Yes, I did consider to sue Mobile odin but, as far I know, it requires an already rooted mobile (mine has been never rooted before) so I'm in a vicious cycle.
Regarding JTAG, is there any document about?

hi guys i have a huge problem. ive installed a custom ROM but i think my phone is not rooted. so i wanted to install with the unified toolkit v7.0 to root it with busybox and all stuff. when i plug my handy to the pc via usb cable the toolkit shows the serial number but it says "offline" and when i try to root it it says waitin for enable usb debugging...
i installed driver also.
i installed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334
any ideas?
its android 4.3
Custom rom = rooted, unless you removed root.
Toolkit isn't for changing custom rom, suggest you read the basics and search before you do anything else.

Why are you refusing to read the very basics and stupidly blunder through this what used to be a developers forum .
the toolkit always says "waiting for uisb debugging to be enabled" it doesnt recognizes the device why? serial shows up but it says offline...
>>> Dont use that toolkit .
