Hi guys,
I've lurked here ever since I got my Desire HD 18 months ago and this is the first time I haven't been able to find a solution to a problem.
I received my Prime today with no flaws, it worked great out of the box with the wifi at my mums house so obviously I was pretty happy!
Unfortunately as soon as I arrived home a (relatively minor) problem surfaced; my Prime can see most of the networks around my house except my one! It's a Belkin wireless N router set to N/G/B though when I change it to exclusively G I still get nothing.
If anyone has had this problem and found a fix (or is just better with this than I am and can help anyway!) I would really appreciate the help!
Thanks in advance,
N

I also have a Belkin router... N600. What model do you have?
The Prime does not support 5 Ghz bands. 802.11n is supported but only on 2.4 Ghz band. FYI I as well as other Prime owners have reported more consistent speeds on strict 802.11g.
Thanks for the help guys, I have in fact found the solution after some tinkering. I changed the routers channel and suddenly it popped up! Not a clue why this worked (as I had already tried this previously) but I'm not complaining!
Hi,
got my SGS3 today and started playing with it. I started downloading my apps and during this the wifi dropped connection 3 times. It connected again within seconds, but this is not good.
The distance from my router was around 3 meter. My SGS1 never dropped connection.......
Any idea's?
I also have problems with wifi:
It connects normally but after tens of seconds the connection is dead. Android says still it's connected, but it simply doesn't work.. I have no sim installed atm because I have only an oldskool sim and not a micro sim. Tomorrow I will get a microsim at the vf shop and test again..
I had issues like those aswell today using my Adam but only with wireless. Weird ?
Probably your router problem? I'm sure reviewers would have identified that issue as well. Can't wait to get mine though, hopefully mine don't have the same problem
Htc hero, sgs 2 and three notebooks are working fine. Tried different router configs.. Nothing helped. Today i receive a 2nd sgs 3, so I will put it on the test..

I have a similar issue, the status bar shows wifi is fine (the arrows are blinking) but no actual data on the phone. Checked on my tf201 on the same network and its working fine.
This has happened twice now and only restarting the phone fixes the issue.
I have downloaded over 2 Gb with my SG S3 over Wifi at home and at work. No issues, and it´s super fast, even beating my XOOM.
I have a Dlink 625 at home and at work we have a Cisco something.
However had a different problem where the phone just restarts when dialing a number, and then it boot looped on the logo for about 5 times before starting up. scary .

This is the same problem I was talking about, but rebooting does not work for me..
Mine seemed to behave a little like this to start with also - I changed the Wifi Frequency Band (Settings-WiFi-Advanced) to 2.4ghz only and its been rock solid since.

Yes, it is in b+g+n mixed mode and is saying 2.4ghz. As a matter of fact I'm not able to chose another frequency (maybe because of the b and g). I can try to put it in b/g or g only mode.
I also read about that NFC's RF signals can interrupt the Wifi signal, so I will try also to disable the NFC option.
I tried another galaxy s 3 with the same settings.. that one works well on my wifi network.. I think the wifi module is not working properly..
Do you have by coincidence a draytek router. I have the SGS3, and my sister has the SGS2. We both experience problems with wifi also here. I have several draytek routers, all giving problems.
It seems to become a bit more stable if you set the Channel width to just 20 MHz, in stead of 20/40MHz. And use WPA2 only, not a mix of WPA and WPA2.
These two changes made the connection a bit more stable for me, but i'm not 100% convinced yet.
mine doesnt hv any issue with wifi, but for my cell signal, it changes between 3g <> h <> h+ alll the time, anyone too?

I posted a solution for this in the known issues thread but I thought I'd repost here in case you missed it.
I was having similar problems but found that if I disabled the Wifi Power Save Mode I was back to blazingly fast speeds and no dropped connections.
I had to go into Service Mode (dialling *#0011#) and hitting Menu => Wifi and turning off the option for power save mode.
Give it a try. It fixed a couple of other guys problems as well.
Am giving this a go will report back.
That worked but battery drainer . Have put it back on and set wifi to off when screen off. That has helped loads.
Worked for me too, and trip really is unnecessarily complicated and hidden to get something that should be working out the box.
I just got my prime and immediately ran into some strange problem with the wifi, i get quite good connection to my neighbours wifi but my own does not even show up in the list.
My router is a dlink dir615 and all my other devices can find it without trouble.
Anyone know on what side the problem is, router or prime?

Where did you buy your Prime and what channel is your router currently on?
I bought my trannyprime in sweden from the online store 'cdon', it came with android 4.03 installed.
I think my router is set on channel 13.
Hi,
I have a tablet that was connected to the Wi-fi 2 days ago but now it just dosent see that Wi-fi connection atoll. Maybe someone has a solution of this problem. The tablet sees my neighbors rooters but not my one. my phone works fine on the same rooter. maybe some one can help me.
Thanks
I just got lg v30 thought it was a good deal. everything is fine but it has one big problem . the wifi disconnect all the time especially while downloading. when this happens I can see the cell signal along with the wifi disappears from the status bar and the phone start searching for signal.
I tried everything I could. like a full factory reset.
I also downgraded from android 8 to 7
so Is it a hardware Issue?
I had a similar problem but only with WiFi. I don't think these phones have a reach on WiFi if you are a good distance from the router I believe this is your problem. My solution I set up a WiFi tether with my laptop connected to the router so the source is closer that solved my issue

Also, try setting for 2.4GHz only. It travels further than 5GGz and it's more stable.
