I have an international version of the Galaxy S3, the i9300 and I'm facing freezes with Cyanogenmod 10.2. I heard that these problems could be caused by baseband version, I tried to use GetRIL to update the RIL and it updated successfully but only the RIL, how can I check which version of the baseband I must to update and how do I update the baseband ? It is done via Odin ? Where are the download files ? I couldn't find any version for my region (Brazil). My actual baseband version is I9300UBELL1. Thanks !

i don't think so... just try to flash another rom like Temasek or Paranoid android... second me you can solve your problem..
you tried to return to a stock? I do not think the problem is baseband, but maybe the CM was installed wrong. even so, you can find zip files or baseband modem, to install recovery via advanced.
Try using the CyanogenMod installer.
Sent from my GT-I9300.
Give a thank if i helped you.

Hey Guys
I am currently using the Samsung Galaxy S2 in India
Current Version
Firmware : 2.3.5
baseband xxki1
kernel xxki3
build batista70 2.1 xxki3
In this config, i am unable to use any kernel apart from the CF root and the speedmod
Is it possible for me to use a different modem and baseband altogether. Or will that not be possible for the Indian version of the SGS2.
Will changing that lead to no connections or some other issues?
Kindly help or advice as to how to use other kernels if the above is not an option
Bump. Please Help Guys.
Please Help Me. I am feeling restless for a custom kernel.

If your GS2 is the global version (I9100) then yes, you can flash any I9100 modem or kernel you like. There shouldn't be any connection issues.

Current problems - I cannot get 3G signal (data network doesn't turn on)
Let me know If any further informaiton is required.
Thanks a lot in advance
Root your phone with CF-root Kernel (CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LP1-v5.2-CWM5.zip)
download from the link in my signature and flash as per the guide on the thread,
then install your favorite ROM from CWM,
if the 3g issue is a software diffect, it will be solved by flashing new ROM,
otherwise service center....
Hey guys,
my phone was shipped with the XXLE8 baseband. I've been using the Omega Rom since version 3.0 (based on XXALED) and I've flashed every version since. Since I'm trying to fix some battery issues I had a look in the system settings and noticed that it is still showing XXLE8 as my baseband. Shouldn't it show XXALF2? Is it normal that an incorrect baseband is shown or did I forget to do something?
Attachments show my baseband version before and after flashing Omega 5.2.
Depends upon you flashing a new baseband or not .
You did not flash a stock rom that includes a baseband ,so it all depends upon the custom rom build you are using . Modem included or not .
jje
Flashing a stock modem package via Odin solved the issue (Mobile Odin didn't work for some reason).
Thanks
I am having some reception problem with the latest version on Temasek ROM (33)
Can someone tell me if it is advisable to flash another modem from "Perka's" file manager?
Please advise. I need a better CM Compatible modem I think for my region viz India.
Please suggest!!

Specify your 'reception problem'. Do you get the error "Not registered on any network"? If so do check your IMEI. Your efs partition maybe corrupted either due to flashing roms or due to the efs version change if you downgraded to a older version of android. If you can make/receive calls but have poor/low reception then the problem can be your rom or if you didnt do a clean install.
Hi, I was given a Galaxy S2 I9100 with baseband version I9100BOKJ1 T-mobile that has android 2.3.5 installed.
So, I wanted to update it to 4.1.2 through OTA but it says that there are no updates available, what are my options?
Can I just install an official 4.1.2 stock rom through odin? If so, what 4.1.2 stock ROM is compatible with this phone? Thanks!
Yes, you can flash a 4.1.2 stock ROM via Odin. There are plenty of stock ROMs on the internet for our device, most of them are on sammobile.com, but you need to sign in to use it. A simple Google search will show its results. Try to find a ROM matching to your region/carrier.
Think about making a backup of your baseband. There are guides on the internet. If you get big problems with GPS or signal strength with the new ROM, you can flash it back. Some people report the stock baseband solves GPS and signal issues, nevertheless it didn't change anything for me when I tried around switching basebands.
Hope this helps.

Some regions didn't get JB update at all. You can flash your phone using odin.
Go to below link find a none carrier firmware download and flash.

My current rom is xwlsw.
And don't try AOSP stock is always the best.
