Hello, I have a serious problem here.
I did a hardreset on my p768 and switch the phone starts the configuration of the device.
At end appear the error "LGSetupWizard has stopped unexpectedly" and the returns to the beginning of configuration.
I've tried all ways to skip this configuration and I can not, what can I do?
edit:
can enable usb debugging from another mode? i will try uninstalling this app from adb, but usb debugging is off
help please!!
This happened to me when I rooted and removed the stock launcher. I forgot to move Nova Launcher to system/app and when I did the hard reset, I didn't have a launcher.
If this happened to you, you may need to flash the kdz using offline flash method.

Make sure in windows update settings, search and auto download drivers is on. If that doesn't work, download and install google adb driver. You can google 'adb drivers' and find sources to download them. This should work. Please let me know if this help. if it doesn't, I can walk u thru downloading and installing samsung drivers manually.
I willl try the adb driver. Ill get back asap. But I did dl the specific Vibrant driver from Samsung support page. No luck there

Still nothing. Could it be a damaged usb?

What exactly are you trying to do?
- If ur just trying to root & flash you really don't need to connect to PC.
As far as the connect to PC issue. It could be a damaged USB port but unlikely. How is the setup of ur "USB settings"
- Mass storage(should be picked)
- Also toggle the USB debugging setting as well that might help. Good luck!
Hi guys ive just recently rooted my X10 i mean it worked and all that but after i did the final step from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16212649 : i was to install xrecovery toget rid of the audio lags but the flashtool stopped detecting my phone i relaunched it and restarted my phone and PC still nothing happen but PC companion can still detect it is there any way i can fix the audio lags without having to install xrecovery?please help guys thank you
Did you turn on usb debugging?
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
yes sir i was able to turn on usb debugging evey single intruction on this link i was able to follow perfectly i ended up trying it 3 times now from re-rooting still no, luck :<
any one has an idea how to go around this?
I presume when you restarted the pc, your virus scanner was still off as well as the firewall? Make sure you totally disconnect from the internet when you switch those off. Check wireless as well as wired connections.
I would check in the system device manager of your pc and see if u have any unknown usb devices ahowing when your phone is connected. If so direct it to the usb drivers that comes with flash tool and see if that helps.
It worked for me

hi,
I'm having a major problem updating my LG Prada 3 UK version from gingerbread to the official ICS update. I've not rooted or done any mods. I'm using the official lg update tool with the drivers installed but the update keeps getting stuck at 7%. I pass all the checks the update tool seems to perform before updating but once the update starts always at 7% it gets stuck. It gives me an error message something like this: "There was a communication problem between the cell phone and the PC", with the option to restart. It tells me to unplug USB and take battery out then turn phone on and restart. I do this but nothing works and again stuck at 7%.
I even phoned LG who said it must be a glitch and to keep trying. That's nonsense I've definitely got some kind of issue here. Oh and I've tried the usual: factory reset, reinstalling the USB drivers and LG update tool. Absolutely nothing works.
One more thing, even using the LG PC Suite to update gives me an error message. So I know this isn't to do with the LG Update tool. I have a Win7 installed.
Please can someone help me with this! many thanks
It's possible there's a bad block in the internal memory. You may be able to check for it through a shell.
If it's under warranty, I would try to send it back.
You could also try flashing with the KDZ tool, but if it gets stuck, you might brick the phone.
To work out what the problem is you need to rule out every variable. First try out a different wire/cable. If it doesn't work then try a different computer. If its still not working then there's a good chance it's a problem with your phone.

I tried a different USB cable, and also a different pc but still the same problem. I was thinking of trying to turn off the download mode thing but not sure how that works. I did hold up volume up and power then inserted battery but all that gave me was a SW Update screen.
So I have searched everything and and am having a small problem with rooting my phone. The batch file runs and when I select to Restore My Data it initially (on the phone) says Restore Starting... then immediately says Restore Ended with nothing happening to the phone, even after sitting for a few mins. Rooting isn't new to me either I just don't understand why this isn't working properly.
Thanks for any and all help.
Do you have usb debugging enabled and when the phone is plugged in to the computer and you have it on "mtp" mode and not charge only?
Sent from my Optimus G using XDA premium
Yes and yes.
Hmm I had issues the first time with running the bat file for root. I had to use a different computer for it to work. Also when you plugged the phone in while in mtp mode did all the drivers install should have been the drivers.

Yea all the drivers were installed properly, I can access everything I need to on the phone from the computer. I'll try it on a different pc and see what happens.
This phone does seen temperamental at times while rooting. If suggest maybe hitting up the IRC for more help. You may be on the new update which will require you to lgpnst to older firmware then root.

Ahhh yes, I didn't think of that... the update would definitely pose an issue. Thanks!
Hello, so this morning I was looking to transfer some files from my Sprint LG G3 to my PC. I couldn't get the computer to recognize the phone so I attempted to change to 'PTP' under USB options and revert back to Media Device/MTP, hoping it will work. However it didn't, and to make matters worse, I can't select the MTP option eventhough the it show under USB Options - everytime I select MTP it reverts back to either 'PTP' or 'Charge Phone'. The PC does recognize the phone as a camera/PTP and charges the phone but I can't get it work as a media device. I have tried uninstalling/installing the unified G3 drivers and toggled USB debugging on/off but it still not working. I have read somewhere that installing LG PC Suite does solve the issue (instead of the mobile drivers only) but I am not sure it does. Please help guys.

Try wiping cache in recovery and if that does not work.... Reinstall the ROM it could just be something went wrong along the way and it glitched..... You can also try shortcut master just search for "MTP" or "mtp" and try to find a shortcut that would enable it. Also try running *#*#4636#*#* in your dialer. It will make all of your carrier files and stuff like that update running that usually fixes a ton of problems.

I tried wiping my cache in recovery, running the code *#*#4636#*#* and searching for 'MTP/mtp' using shortcut master but all attempts were unsuccessful. I am using Stock ZV4 but I have TWRP installed so I can backup and try factory resetting but I am not confident that would help. I am also saving that as a last resort so If anyone suggests other fixes please help.

Do you have usb debugging enabled? Sometimes that causes it to not work for me, other times it works fine with it enabled.
Edit nevermind, I see you said you have tried it.
##3424# is diag mode enabled?

Try booting into recovery
Also, have you tried a different usb port on your computer? It will reinstall the drivers each time you change ports. Also, you should be able to select MTP without being plugged into the computer by going to storage in settings, and in the menu should be the pc connection settings. Does it do the same thing when not plugged into the computer?
Sent from my LGLS990 using XDA Free mobile app
Edit: I just tried a few different ways, DIAG mode enabled, USB Debugging enabled, each work, and at the same time, for me.
Below is the LG Drivers i have installed right now.
LGUnitedMobileDriver_S51MAN313AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.13.2.exehttp://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00120120425
So I have tried per your suggestion - tries disabling DIAG mode and (again) tried switching USB debugging off - no change. I have also tried different USB ports and different computers too. Surprisingly I couldn't find 'PC Connections setting' under storage in settings. Also tried looking under security and developer options. The only way I can try switching to MTP is when I plug the phone into a PC and a 'USB Options' menu appears in the notification bar. I am starting to think the Issue is with the phone and not the PC"s. I will try installing the drivers you suggested though.
I have the same problem on my Nexus 6, OP are you solved the problem?
This problem was already resolved in another thread and the resolution was to... I know its going to sound so stupid but to select mtp AGAIN lol..
If you have Clean master Uninstall it, Or just remove permissions from it , It'll work
