hey.
so i got my new venue 7 a few days ago, and as i've seen from the root thread, most all of the users have been notified by their tablet to the 4.3 update, but i have not.
anyone have any suggestions as to why that might be? any insight would be appreciated.
Perhaps it is like the Nexus 7 where updates are rolled out to devices over a many days (weeks?). I think Google does it by the device's serial number.
I have no idea if Dell does the same thing (on the other hand, I suspect that there are far more Nexus 7s being used than Dell Venue tablets.).
No update for me either ?

I have venue 7 wifi edition and neither 4.3 nor 4.4.2 update had rolled out to me and my version is still 4.2.2
I'm from Egypt...
Anybody has an idea about how to update to the stock 4.4.2??

Follow my post above even if you don't want root this will allow you to update dell pulled all ota updates they won't admit they did but no one is able to see otas for close to a month now.

I got my tablet yesterday too. No updates, stuck on 4.2
Can i directly update to 4.4.2 or will i have to first flash the 4.3 update using myKit Tools?

you can directly update once dell resumes the updates. i dont know how long that's going to take though. I really want immersive mode

My tablet I bought the first week of June had the 4.3 installed, Dell told me updates gives pop-ups, I asked them for 4.4 to not be confused.
Today i received a new system update.

Try it and you will "brick" you phone, half of the topics here have the problem with Dell Venue.

when i seen that there was a system update i thought oh great 4.4, but i then realised it was a fairly small update, after it installed it was still 4.3 unfortunately
Does anyone know what this update was for or what it done, was it just to get ready for 4.4?

Well I did have 4.3 previous but my version now says 10.4.1.b.0.101
Not sure if that's newer than previous as I'm not sure what the exact number was.
The update was only about 30mb
Got one on OTA few days ago too but mine is .109 (SGP311 French)

I have just looked and have no updates available BUT, my firmware is 10.4.1.b.0.109
So i tried android 4.3 and kk on my tablet but i dont really like it so I am wondering if someone with a Venue 8 on 4.2.2 can dump their system, boot and recovery images for me

Sorry I haven't had the chance to packages these yet I have 4.2.2 images for both v7 and v8
I would also be interested in this. There is an app I need that no longer works in 4.4 so I would like to downgrade back to 4.3 or earlier if possible.

You can use SDC' kit here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2681783 for downgrade to 4.3
Or PM him for the file to downgrade to 4.2.2

4.2.2 downgrade should be posted this evening still working on getting a couple things together for you and a few other users.

I had to send my Venue back to Dell to downgrade. Took about a week.

The OP says that they have 3G and that method is for wifi only and will make them loose 3G connectivity

Just noticed on oneplus software support that latest version is 10.0.10 however I dont have any OTA. I know i can download it but i prefer the OTA.
Anyone in the U.k got this 10.0.10 OTA yet or know when it will drop for us in the good old U.k?

I got it OTA. Downloading it and then installing it manually will still work.

Unfortunately my computer situation is a little troublesome atm so would just prefer the OTA. I still haven't got the OTA. I wonder if it's different phases or so?

Is that a safe way? I'm a bit wary and always prefer the OTA. I'm happy to wait for it to drop if it's in phases as i'm not in a rush. I was just wondering why my phone isn't able to find the update through the system update?

The ota is downloadable through the app. Then you go to system updates then press menu and select local then pick the file. You could also rebrand to an eu or global firmware this way

Thank you I will give this ago if the OTA doesnt come soon.
Performance took a slight hit coming from 10.0.9 for me. Don't bother, you're not really missing much.
