There's a couple of icons in my notification bar that I don't want to be shown on the notification bar. I went to the App info settings and unchecked the "Show notification" but when I restart my phone it comes back, I go to the app settings again and the "Show Notifications" box is unchecked. So why does it keeps showing it?

Hello guys!
I installed Handcent sms and even I stopped default sms notification and forced stop to the default client itself, I still receive two sms notifications on status bar. Had to disable the one notification supported by Handcent and now is only the default one on which when I click- the Handcent client appears. Once I quit from Handcent, the icon is still on status bar, altough I've read the sms and have to close it via "close notifications" button...very annoying..
How to get rid the default sms notification?
Open "Messages"
Click MENU
Select SETUP
Uncheck "Notifications" - scroll down
Enable HANDCENT notification
You should now get only 1 notification

Click to collapse
That was exactly what I did and still get two notifications..
Go to settings >apps >manage apps> messages > force stop!
Go into the default Messages app and make sure to disable Auto-retrieve (this will also help improve battery life)
if I untick "show notifications" for an app that constantly sits in the notification.. the corresponding icon goes away from the notification bar and lockscreen (as it should)...
my question is: does the app still enjoy enhanced priority if I do this I'm on lollipop if that means anything..
I have a problem with my Huawei mate 10 pro, when the screen is looked I can only see the time, date and the background theme for sure. But I can't see any notifications and I can't even see the drop down menu "notification bar" which includes wifi, Bluetooth.. etc. When I swipe down it asks me to enter my password instead of getting drop down menu settings. It is really annoying. I tried everything in the settings, I changed everything to "display all notifications" in Settings -> apps & notifications -> notifications management -> each app to enable and in top right menu "display all notifications". I thought it is always like this for huawei phones but my friend has mate 10 and he can see the notifications bar and his all notifications while the screen is locked. So any help please how to solve this problem! I want to see the notifications and the drop down menu "notification bar"
How can I hide the "XY is active now" sign from the status bar caused by FBmessenger?
When I lock out my phone screen, and I just want to check the time or the notifications, it's very annoying when the FB messeneger is actually the active app it covers the status bar, and shows randomly one of my friend is active now.
How can I set not use the App the status bar?
Is it possible to unhide the messages received on the lockscreen instead of showing "There are new messages"?
I cannot see who has sent me a message without entering the app.
Thanks!
Yes it is. If You open WhatsApp, and on the home screen press three dots at the right top corner > Settings > Notifications > and there You can change Popup Notifications
about whatsapp notifications, is there a way to hide the content of the notification on the status bar?
