You could try recovering your phone using Kies
Start Kies then go to Tools > Firmware Upgrade and Initialization then follow the instructions, this will wipe and reset the phone.

Hey guys,i have a problem with my S3(international version).I had flashed to cm10 and then wanted to return to stock firmware earlier on today so i downloaded xxblfb firmware(latest for my country) and i flashed it using odin.Everything went as per plan, now i am on stock rom and my phone status is normal too and not modified but when i connect to kies it says that my device does not support updating using kies. Why is that and how can i fix it?.Please help me out.
Have you used Triangle Away when you were rooted? Did you factory-reset your phone?
Go to Download mode and check what the binary counter says.

Oh ok cool thanks.Any other way?..n wat are the risks?
Your first question is
Is their an update for your phone your phone not any phone and updates have codes that must match what you present to Kies .
Simple solution is to join XDA and flash stock rom as and when or wipe your phone install the original firmware and stay with Samsung for updates .

I don't think so, but it's worth a shot. It would at least theoretically be possible for the phone to report the Flash Counter to Kies.

Hello.
1) I tried to upgrade my rooted SGS3 in Kies. It freezes during upgrading at 6% (more than an hour at 6%). I stopped upgrading, turned off and turned on the battery. Now I see "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again".
2) I tried flashing in ODIN. It failed, the phone freezes in Downloading mode.
3) I tried recovery in Kies. It freezes too (at 11%).
What should I do now? Guys, please help...
BUY yourself a new phone....

You can though you may not get an update .
INSTRUCTIONS
Flash stock rom through Odin but read instructions first .
Instructions do not say flash zip through Odin but as firmware is from another forum you would need to ask them / read their instructions .
Why not use stock firmware from XDA ???

1) Of course I extracted zip file before flashing.
2) XDA don't offer the latest version of SGS3 firmware for Russia.

Correct firmware used and instructions followed .
Then a faulty download of the firmware or a damaged phone are the only solutions left ..
I would personally try flashing CF root via Odin and wiping phone via mounts and storage format .
Only other choice is a service centre .

Hi everybody and thanks for those. who tried to help me.
I just tried to connect the cable to another usb port (not front one, but the one on the motheboard) and this helps!!!! Now I have the latest firmware, installed by Kies. So the reason was simple - the bad USB Port.
That's good to hear. Wonder if its the USB port itself or a software problem..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
It's the usb port. I used the idea from other thread. Never use front usb port (on desktops) to upgrade the phone.
Another idea - is to change the cable

Front USB often means its not running full power as its not a direct motherboard feed but wired as a supplementary port .

Why are people so hung up on flash counter, and status? Is there something wrong with your phone that you need to send it to a service centre? If so triangle away then install stock rom/recovery via odin and all should be Ok.

Factory reset in 3e recovery
Done
Suddendly, whitout me doing anything, I found my S3 stuck at the boot logo (the one that reads Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300). I thought it had crashed and was restarting (sometimes happens) but It is just stuck there. I have tried to turn it off by holding power button for 8 seconds and turning on again, removing the battery, wait a few minutes and inserting again, but it doesn't work.
Home+Volume up+Power for factory reset doesn't work neither. It just shows the boot logo.
Home+Volume down+Power enters download mode and when I select volume up, I get the message:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME:
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: No
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
5 months ago I rooted my phone to use Titanium Backup and since then, I haven't been able to update the official firmware OTA or using Kies because the phone says something is changed.
During those 5 months, the phone has worked without problem.
Just in case this helps, this is what I found in the folder of my computer where I downloaded Odin and the files needed for rooting the phone:
CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar
I9300XXELLA_I9300OXXELL1_LUX.zip
Odin3 v3.04.exe
Odin3.ini
recovery.tar.md5
root.zip
tmax.dll
zlib.dll
Also, soon after rooting the device I unrooted it for the Barclays Banking App to work. (I don't remember how I unrooted it, probably using an App). However, the official upgrading of the firmware was still not allowed.

I don't know and I can't check it anymore. I just rooted the phone, not changed the rom. It was the factory rom of the phone that was purchased mid-November, so probably ICS.
Looks like Sudden Death to me as there is no entry for PRODUCT NAME when in download mode...

I'm not sure what is recovery mode, but if you mean the HOME+VOLUME UP+POWER combination, I can't. I just get the boot logo again.

My phone is official in every aspect and is still in warranty period. What worries me is that it was rooted and later unrooted but not put back to the factory settings (as I said, It doesn't allow me to officially upgrade the firmware). Will this void my warranty?
Can it be returned back to factory settings before sending to repair if it is in a SDS state? (I still can enter download mode)

Hi,
Is there any way to reset binary code when my phone won't go into boot. My phone won't get past the boot screen and I can only get it to recovery mode - where I can't do anything - or in download mode. I know I need to use Triangle away but when my phone won't boot I can't use the app, so is there any way that I can reset the binary code in another way?
Thanks

First thanks for all the answers
Well first I rooted the phone with this program: Samsung Galaxy S3 Toolkit and Odin that worked fine. Then I downloaded CM and Gapps to the sd-card and flashed it trough CWM and that went fine. The phone worked fine and everything was good.. Then months after it started to reboot it self and then one morning, after a reboot, it deleted all my text massages. The next day it wont boot. Some people says that there is someting wrong with my motherboard, but what do you guys think?
I found an article that says that rooting and flashing doesn't void the warrenty (EU) " If it is not possible to revert it stock software any more, it is also not a software-caused defect" and the warrenty is still valid And that's excatly what im experienced.
Thanks
I found an article that says that rooting and flashing doesn't void the warrenty (EU
Oh yes it does under Samsung warranty rules .
Fact is better than the fiction of eu and root not voiding warranty as its not a law and Samsung is not the vendor .
Any claim for repair must be made against the vendor .
