[Q] Bricked Galaxy Mega 6.3 SGH-M819N - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Every time I try to flash with odin I get a security failed tz.
Do you have any idea what this can be?
Also when I try to go into recovery mode i get "Secure Fail: KERNEL"
I have the SGH-M819N, this all began when I wanted to switch from MetroPCS to Net10.
Because Metro's service is really bad, everywhere I go is like a dead zone.
Mind you i live in the city of Miami. lol
So the wonderful people at Metro wouldn't give me an unlock code for my phone.
I don't understand why, if Metro is a "NO CONTRACT" company.
Any ways, i took it to the flea market by my house to get it unlocked for $40
The gentleman that worked on my my phone instead of just telling me it can't be done, decided to flash my phone to AT&T SGH-i527 voiding my warranty completely.
Can someone please help me?
I have a $550 paper weight at the moment.
When I try to boot in recovery mode it says "System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest ATT store for help.
And when i try to turn on my phone it just stays in the AT&T logo.
my e-mail is [email protected]
Any help will be greatly appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

Thank you for the info I was excited to see the thread and did everything step by step, but when i get to the part to enter the
serial #, for some odd reason Kies says that it is wrong, to please check and re-enter.
I'm sure i have the right #, its on the back of handset and receipt.

I think the problem with this is that your phone is a metro pcs mega and you're trying to put in the (metro pcs) serial number to download an AT&T Mega firmware. I don't think kies will let you do that and there currently is no firmware available for the metro pcs mega so kies may not work for you at all. You may need to sesrch to see if you can dowload the odin flashable firmware another way ( perhaps someone in the mega forum actually has it somewhere). Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the GT-I9205/9200 are closer to Metro's version of the phone. Their ROM's work on the Metro version. Maybe try their firmware. Unfortunately Metro's firmware isn't out yet. Metro Locks the phone for 3 months. After the 3months of service they will unlock it.

I'm very new to the forum and I don't really know how to use it but I have a question concerning my samsung sgh i527 I was wondering if it is possible to flash it to and sth m819n

[Q] Question about Re-Flashing the Note i717 by SAMSUNG

I bought this new i717 unlocked phone from ebay and sellers promised it is unlocked and it works with T Mobile and other GSM Networks. Got the New phone (has ATT sign on it) tried T Mobile SIM - Didn't work . ATT SIM Worked. Googled about why it does not work - read some forums like these( not blaming) and they mentioned need to root and change the ROM blah blah... so jumped on it thinking i can solve it piece of cake. BUT
I think i might of messed up by changing the unsupported boot now my phone doesn't turn ON.. tried various hard resets, soft resets.... googled but no help.. basically phone is hard bricked. No light, nothing - DEAD Phone..
So i sent the phone to Samsung they said phone bricked and some hardware failed (OMG) charged me 70 bucks since phone was out of warranty ( thanks to seller and myself for not checking before buying) and said they will compete reflash the phone and update the software
SO Lesson Learned in proper way
Guys Please be careful when you mess with ROM..
So my question is if they do reflash the phone - will it be still unlocked? ( i don't think the seller (to start with) have unlocked via att might have used some rooting methods). and can i be able to use it to ATT
if someone now what do reflashing the phone does ? and another thing i didn't get how do updating a ROM created a hardware issue. i was not able to argue with samsung guys... but if you guys know anything please shed some light
Thank you

Good chance it wont be carrier unlocked after they're through with it. No big deal really as you can go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2124544 and unlock the device yourself. Trust me it works, mines is unlocked and using a T-mobile sim and never had an issue. As for the hardware issue are you sure you flashed the right rom for the device?

Your gonna need to do better than that buddy, or your going to be sending your phone in A LOT.
Kit Kat based is not the answer. He is looking for, "did you flash the rom for your specific device?"
You need to be sure you are flashing device specific files. If you have i717, those are the files you need. Not trying to beat you up, it is pretty important you know this stuff though.
Hope it works out for ya.

Samsung s6 Edge G925F Vodafone unlock Help please :)

Is this possible to do for free yet?
Vodafone UK
Model number _ SM-G925F
Android version - 5.1.1
Baseband - G925FXXU3QOJQ
Please, Any help would be appreciated, it has KNOX installed to and would like the phone to be rooted, have had a look around and its a bit confusing,
I just did it recently but not for free cost about £20 but it was worth. Brought the phone off ebay.
unlockunit.com
They just need your make and model and imei number.
And will send the code to you within 12hrs or so.
You put a sim different network into the phone and the phone will ask you for the unlock code.
That's it. I thought it was worth the price.

Need some help if possible

Hi Guys, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. Noobie to this forum as i am stuck with a phone I can't get to work. I just bought a used phone which was made for the US market. It's an unlocked Verizon Galaxy S5. When I first turned on the phone and saw the Verizon logo I was a bit annoyed as I did not think an unlocked phone would have a propietary logo. So I tried to flash the phone with Odin. As I am with Bell Canada I tried to flash the Bell Canada ROM, but it wouldn't work. I tried looking for a ROM that would allow me on the Bell network but I did not find one that would actually take. I kept getting write error and the flash would fail.
I was finally able to successfully use Odin to flash the phone,. SO right now I have the latest ROM for the Galaxy S5 for USA.
Can someone point me in the proper direction as to which ROM i should be trying to get this phone to work on the Bell network and use 4g/LTE? Right now this USA ROM is not allowing me to connect with the 4g network. I can only call someone on wifi, which is pretty useless to me.

Tmobile USA SM-G965U on Verizon Wireless

Hi, i have been trying to find an answer to this after hours of searching i've come up short and confused.
I recently switched from tmobile to verizon, and i paid off my tmobile s9+ and had it sim unlocked. When i put my verizon sim in it, nothing really happens. either it tells me that it can't register on the network or to insert a tmobile sim card.
I have tried using reset and factory reset. I have also tried the method of holding the volume bixby and power and doing a factory reset, then putting the sim in, rebooting, etc. That doesn't work either.
I see several people trying to go from verizon to tmobile, but i haven't been able to find anyone going from tmobile to verizon, and what method i need to do to get this to work, if its possible at all. Any help would be so much appreciated!

Use Odin to flash U1 and then go back to U. Just leave the SIM in. Don't use HOME CSC.

That still may not help, remember Verizon is still CDMA and the T Mobile branded phone does not have CDMA bands activated and they may not even be on the phone, I don't know. Granted band 13 should work fine, being LTE, but could the sim be looking for a CDMA radio and that is why it is not working?

The hardware is identical for all US Galaxy S9 phones. Any bands that may be missing will be resolved by flashing firmware. OP could also just stay with U1 if they want unlocked, and all bands would still be there.

As per Samsung chat support, I've asked if the dual sim version (international) will work with Verizon. I've also asked the rep if I can switch carriers with a locked phone. They said that essentially, all phones were manufactured with the CDMA and GSM band compatibility, it just needs to be unlocked and the US versions will work on any carrier in the US and the international version (dual sim) needs to be unlocked and it will work with any carrier in any country.
That said, it seems that you're just having an unlocking issue - which is good and bad. I hope you figure this out. Try using Odin 3.13, get the CORRECT firmware for U1 or U(VZW) to flash your phone

Only one small correction to what they told you: The 965F (international), will not have CDMA capabilities. That might not be a problem on some US carriers. But if you can't get VoLTE working on VZW with 965F, then you're dead in the water, since you don't have 1x CDMA calling to fall back on. It becomes a data-only device. I don't have experience with it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the VoLTE doesn't work on US carriers. For GDM/WCDMA carriers, you'd probably be just fine with 965F. Even if VoLTE doesn't work, you'd still be able to call.
Hope this helps.

Step 1
Can you find out the exact model number?
For T-Mobile, it will be one of these :
SM-G965UZKATMB (Midnight Black)
SM-G965UZBATMB (Coral Blue)
SM-G965UZPATMB (Lilac Purple)
The U is the important part, as a previous poster explained that the F models do not have CDMA support (forget what that actually means, just know its necessary for verizon)
Step 2
Next, make sure that the carrier version is correct.
Example: SM-G965UZKATMB
BST Boost
VZW Verizon
ATT ATT
USC US Cellular
ACG C Spire
TMK MetroPCS
VMU Virgin Mobile
TFN Tracfone
XAS Sprint
TMB T-Mobile
XAA Unlocked US
SPR Sprint
CCT Xfinity Mobile
Essentially, you need the firmware that starts with SM-G965U and ends with VZW
Step 3
I'm not 100% sure on how to flash from carrier to carrier but there will be a list of directions. You may need to do some research there to see if it will void samsung warranty (aka 'trip knox') or anything like that, if that matters to you. I think only a modified version of Odin will be able to do this.
Download Odin v3.13.1
Extract the firmware file you just downloaded. You should get 5 files:
AP (System & Recovery)
BL (Bootloader)
CP (Modem / Radio)
CSC_OXM (OXM CSC file, will wipe your phone)
HOME_CSC_OXM (OXM CSC file, will NOT wipe your phone)
Add each file to it's respective field in Odin v3.13.1. Use CSC_OXM if you want to do a clean flash and HOME_CSC OXM if you want to keep your apps and data.
Reboot your phone in Download / Odin mode with the following button combo: POWER + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY
Once in download mode, connect your phone to the PC, preferably using the original USB cable you got with your phone. Odin should detect your device and a blue box will show up with the COM port number.
Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS'. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot.

Step 4
To download firmwares, google "SAMMOBILE website: /firmwares/galaxy-s9-plus/SM-G965U"
Looks like the latest verizon firmware is here: SAMMOBILE website /firmwares/galaxy-s9-plus/SM-G965U/VZW/download/G965USQS2ARF4/223287

Hey thanks a bunch, I’ll give this a shot when I get home tonight. It very well may be that the rom I got wasn’t the right one. Other threads I’ve read seemed to indicate that everything was universal now and by having the SIM card in the phone while flashing, it would download the carrier specific stuff automatically. That part at least doesn’t appear to be the case since the phone wouldn’t accept it. But I’ll download some of the carrier specifics and see what happens. Thanks again!
Did you get it to work after all?
Sorry that i forgot to update! I did get it working, but it required a bit more discussion and help on a reddit discussion someone started. I noticed that someone asked this exact question and i pointed him to this thread where he was able to get it working, then helped me with which roms he used, and i got it working as well! I've been using it daily for almost a month now. Thanks so much for everyones help, i hope that if anyone else is trying to do this, between the two threads it can help. Awesome gigatigga - thanks for getting back. I'm on the verge of trying this. I owe some money on my S9 plus on t-mobile but before i paid it off wanted to make sure all is good.
How are the speeds? Everything working ok? Thanks again! :good::good:
Edit: I was all set to do this and during the signup - I found out that my imei wouldn't work in Verizon's system so they used one from another phone. He advised that if I wanted to pay for insurance, if I make a claim it could be an issue because the imei numbers won't match up. Seemed like a big red flag to me. So I didn't go through with it. Wonder how others are handling this?
I just switched from the ATT firmware to ARF4 on T-Mobile, but it says there is no update available, while the newest T-Mobile update is ARF7. Does anyone know how to get updates OTA?

Can someone help me?
I cannot network unlock a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy 9 plus which has never been active on any plan. When I insert my Verizon SIM card a system notification says "Invalid SIM card. Network Locked SIM card inserted".
I want to bring this phone to Verizon where I have an active plan. I don't have a plan with Tmobile and my friend gifted me this phone. I flashed it to Samsung stock firmware and bought an unlock code from DoctorSim. The code applied successfully however the phone doesn't unlock completely and continues to prompt for the unlock code when I insert the Verizon Sim card. When I called Tmobile they said only a phone active for 40 days on their network can be unlocked using the phone app and that my friend would have to call them to unlock the phone.
