If you really need your RAZR rooted for some reason (I used to need root to run an app but found an alternative), just go to droidrazrroot.com add follow the instructions.
My ICS 4..0.4 was rooted using CF Auto Root by Chainfire.
After an update to JB 4.1.1 root access was no longer available.
Does anyone know if I can use the same method and files that I used to root ICS on the JB 4.1.1.
Thank you for your advice.
yes, you can
I did it!

Is it possible to keep root yet?
Yes, I was able to keep root using OTA rootkeeper when going from v10g to v20d on my P769.

You update from factory V20D.kzd and then go to rooted V20D P769 by Tablechair
or just flash only the rooted V20D?

"CWM BACKUP IS ORIGINALLY CALLED NANDROID BACKUP. IF ANYONE IS ON ROOTED V10*/V20*, CAN RESTORE CWM BACKUP AND GO ON HIGHER/LOWER ROOTED BUILDS.
I HAVE TESTED THIS OK, but Results May Vary. "

There currently is no .KDZ of v20d. You root your 10X then use voodoo root.keeper to make a backup, apply the ota, then restore the root backup with voodoo.
If You flash tablechair or my cwm backup, you end up rooted.

Hey guys
had a problem with installing barclays bank mobile app on a rooted phone so used an app called hide my root.
After playing about and trying various things such as deleting SU and Super SU i know cannot get root working again.
Any ideas on how to restore the root access. Once this is restore i want to update to the lastest cm10 version.
Android 4.2.2
Cheers

Root is in the ROM, so if you flash the latest ROM from recovery, you'll have the binary and apk back anyway.

Hi,
my XT910 is still on factory Android version. (2.3 I think).
I'd love to update to lolipop or 4.4. My phone is rooted, I have busybox installed and safestrap 1.07.
I found some instructions and some howtos. But the reqirement is always Safestrap v3.75.
When I now try to install Safestrap v3.75 an error comes up:
Parse error There is a problem parsing the package

I've tried different sources, my phone is allowed to install unknown sources AND I tried different file manager.
(I usually use totalcmd)
I need some help please
thanks

That error is because you are still on GB,you must upgrade at least to ICS.

Ok welder73,thanks for your quick reply. Do you know....is the backup I made with safestrap 1.07 still accurate with the newer version of safestrap? I mean can I go back?
First to ICS -> then Safestrap v3.75 -> then Lolipop
many thanks!!!

When you upgrade to ICS there is no way to go back to GB,also you can't go back from JB to ICS.
Just upgrade to ICS,root it,install SS 3.75 and test roms on slot 1,that way you'll always have your stock slot untouched.
