In response to my previous thread stating that I picked up the Layblock, I finally got it in the mail now. Here is my review along with pictures.
Layblock case can be purchased off eBay here.
Here is my review:
-------------------------------------------------------------
I got my Layblock in the mail today. It's actually a lot nicer than I thought! I put my I.D. and 2 credit cards in the slots .I tried doubling up by adding 2 cards per slot, but it was way too bulky then. Not a big deal since I only need my ID and my 2 cards 99% of the time. I also have 2 punch cards in the slot where money is supposed to go.
I have NEVER had a flip case before. This is my first one. Wow, I am in love LoL. I always have my phone when I'm sitting down on the couch so when I go to pay a bill online, I just flip open my phone and there's my card
I went to the gym and the case worked nicely. I was on the bike and I just flip the case open and browse Facebook, Twitter, etc. I was on Vevo watching music videos and I just flip the cover all the way back and prop it up in front of me on the bike or on the elliptical.
When folding the flap all the way back, it makes it very easy to hold. Sometimes I also find myself holding it as a book if I'm on the couch and just flipping through Facebook, etc
I went to the Post Office today and when I hopped in the car I would typically throw my phone, keys, and wallet in to the center counsel. It's so nice to be able to just grab my Layblock (phone/wallet now) and go! Since the Note 3 is a "phablet" I would typically put my wallet in 1 side of my coat pocket, my Note 3 in the other pocket and I no longer have to do this.
I am definitely seeing the benefits of this case.
The price was $64.95. This is the most I have EVER paid for a case. However, it's hands down the BEST flip wallet case for the Note 3 on the market. If you watch the company's video about how they make the case, then you'll realize it's worth the money. These are hand made etc.
What am I missing? What questions do you have? Hope this review helps someone!
Now on to the pictures:

As I stated in your other thread, you do need to use a glass screen protector, but you seem to have that already covered.
I do have one question: Can you talk on the phone with the wallet closed? I see that it has that little opening, but I'm not sure that you can hear and be heard with it closed.
(I ask this because it would be awkward to walk on the street, answering a call, and exposing all your money and cards to everyone. :laugh
Anyway, thanks for the review. :good:

Yup, you can talk with the case closed. There's a slit at the top of the case for your ear :victory:
I do have a screen protector, but it's not glass. A very small portion of the cards are exposed, so they're not pressing on the screen. I also don't sit on my phone in my pocket so I'm not worried about it.
NFC can still be used right?

Yeah, the back cover is still on the phone itself.
I purchased same case priced at $58.40(includes shipping cost). Its original price is $55.99 and I used the promo code : ZRQWRFZX
LAYBLOCK
Thanks for the pictures, not sure I like how it does not close when cards are present. I also prefer a closing mechanism (magnet/button) to secure that front flap.
I got a similar leather wallet case a few months ago and have been very satisfied.
The price is a bit better for this one at $46.
The wallet case is from Korea and is made of genuine cow leather.
What's interesting is that I am using the Spigen's thin case with this leather case as the sticker on the wallet is strong enough to keep my slim case just fine.
Good protection of the phone inside a good leather case- a best of both worlds!

That must look funny lol. Is that guy talking to his wallet mommy?
I really wanted something like this, but then after It thought about it some more I decided against it. I'm always on my phone in public places and I really don't think I would feel safe knowing both my $700 phone and all my cards and cash were all in one convenient spot for a thief to snatch or Maybe i'm just paranoid...lol.
These are more popular in countries like South Korea where everyone has their smartphones out in the open. There really isn't any fear or threat of it getting it stolen.
My friend has one like this, lost it and lost her cards / ID with it too. I just can't take that risk lol.

I Love this case and feel like I must have it. Does it close all the way after having it for a week or two? My OCD needs it to close all the way. If it doesn't close all the way, do you think I could add the magnetic clip
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/other/aw/d...klv3QoPYoFcx2sERJSJVLdSB1oooD/2Q==&precache=1) that Spigen makes? I want this case but I've already thrown away enough money on cases. If I buy this one, I need it to be "the one."
Talk me out of buying this case! I've thrown away too much money on cases and am bout to pull the trigger on this one. Hurry! Talk me out of it! Help!!!

Quick Review...yes its copied from the other thread that I posted in. But I figure plagiarizing my own stuff is ok. Plus, there are pictures now!
Material: Definitely not real leather. Is PU Leather but doesn't feel "cheap" in the hand either! Inside of the case is a velvety "soft" material...I guess a cloth version of suede is the best way to describe it. (Definitely not Alcantara like the stuff I have in the bucket seats of my car.)
Workmanship: Can't complain here either surprisingly! I was expecting it to be well, just ok....but the stitching is straight and even, uniform distance from the edges (yeah I'm sure there are tenths of mm variations but...nothing distracting.) Holes for camera, proximity sensors, buttons, etc. are PERFECTLY aligned when the TF is properly inserted.
Closure: Magnetic...decent snap to it. There's magnets on BOTH ends of the case so it is quite secure.
Holding Mechanism: One of the weaknesses of this case. It has a flap that is on the landscape edge facing into the spine of folio case. Should have put a magnet or two in there to keep the flap more securely closed. Or Velcro. I think I'm going to add some velcro there myself. On the other hand, I think it is far better to have the flap on this side than along one of the portrait edges of the Tablet.
Stand angles: 2 actually, one inverted "low position" suitable for typing. One high angle for casual viewing I guess.
Conclusion: 1 thumb up--not two--because of the ridiculous pricing on these cases, $28 including shipping. Seriously, these things can't cost more than $5 in China where they are made.

Looks like there's a cutout in the tuck in flap but no cutout on the main cover. My guess is you can charge the transformer while in the case but that the cover has to be open.
Where did you get it? Was this one of the generic eBay ones?
I just got this case today (took about two weeks to arrive), and I'm thoroughly satisfied. It has holds for everything, even the Micro SD slot. Most importantly, the Transformer feels protected.
I just received mine today. I bought the brown version. It fits OK but overall the case is not of the highest of quality for instance there is a finger size mark on the front of the case. Can't help thinking in a couple of weeks the transformer will be slipping inside of the casehousing.
The listing on eBay said leather and I am going to complain and request a partial refund because it is definately not leather being some kind of ruberised finish and a joke of an attempt to show leather grain. I feel like I have been mislead....

Why are there so many people trolling the "FolioGuard" case in everyone else's threads? WTF? People KNOW there's the FolioGuard case. The point is THIS ISN'T THE FOLIOGUARD CASE AND IS A REVIEW OF A DIFFERENT CASE.
SoCalTiger, I got this one from eBay. Here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_5978wt_1018
I'm beginning to wonder whether this one IS genuine leather and NOT PU leather at all. I've "aired" it a good number of days and it STILL smells/feels like leather. The patterned marks don't seem to be pressed/printed into the case at all. There's a few other tests I can "run" to see if its real leather or not (including the "match" test, but I don't really want to ruin the case either).
Thanks!

Can you send/post the link for the one you ordered that you are not happy with? There DEFINITELY was NO option for "another color material" for this case. Just the variation in stitching color.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Asus-Eee-Pad-...I&otn=3&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=419235527009776241
3 different colours. Think I saw your link to the seller originally or you posted on the same thread I was reading. They were selling different colours under another listing. Anyway from the pictures you posted it is identical to mine... I think the ebay listing is misleading regarding the material.
Are you sure it isn't leather? I haven't tried the melt vs. scorch test on it yet so I'm not 100% sure. It feels like a really thin layer of leather over a harder backing...

Okay, that's it. I'm going to report every single one of your posts to have them deleted. All you are doing it trolling with your links to the FolioGuard.
100% certain its not leather. Got a reply from the the seller saying it is pv leather (I understand this to be a man made material and will never have been anywhere near a cow) which is fine but they should state this al the way through the listing. I have asked them to amend the listing and requested a part refund. If not I will report them to eBay and see what think
I am sure most people would be happy with the case and i agree with your review it does a reasonable job of proteting the Asus. The stitching is good but there is a small defect on the front of my case which
i like this case, might have to get one
well I am happy with the case seeing as i have just received a full refund. I do not need to return it either. So feels like a bargain now! Just shows you it is worth complaining. I hope they amend the listing to make it clear this is not leather for other people.

My case arrived this weekend, but I guess I don't need to do a review either.
It's definitely a decent case for an alright price. Build seems good and does the job perfectly.
No complaints really.
Anybody know if this is the same case? http://electroniccrap.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_36&products_id=51
Alright so, I'm the type of person who never puts cases on their phones..
The least I would ever do would be an zagg shield.
Though, with the evo 3D I'm sorta feeling a case now.
I'm looking for a really... really thin case.
My friend has the infuse on at&t and she has a really thin case.
It feels almost metal..and only covers the back and the sides.
But it as almost no bulk to the phone..
Anything similar to that for the evo 3d?
thanks!
heres what i bought:

How do you like it?
I personally wouldnt recommend them as they provide no protection at all if you drop the phone face down or it lands on the corner edge. I would go with a TPU case if you need something that is thin, as they wrap around the edges and protect the phone better. I'm not just saying this because I own TPU-Cases either Buy them from whoever you want.. just my opinion of course.
I have the matte back black case from tpu-cases.com and highly recommend them:
http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=7&sort=20a&page=1
it's thin, fits perfectly, aesthetically looks great, free fast shipping (they are a U.S. seller so there's no wait time unlike the overseas stuff) with email confirmation, all at a great price. Their current line up have the camera holes lined up and as it's raised, there is protection for the 3D's dual cameras when you lay it flat on a table. The shutter and volume buttons are covered but access is not a problem for me.
Hope this helps.
I have a smoke argyle TPU already. I bought it since I got the phone 3 days before release and an Otterbox wasn't out yet. Once rooting my phone I realized how much I loved how thin it was.
i just bought this one i thought it looked really cool and it cheap so if i dont like it no big loss http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Metal-Case-Cover-HTC-EVO-3D-Sprint-H153-/320721844909?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4aac82faad
I bought this one and really like it. It fits very tightly and looks really nice in person. It snaps together securely and if I have any complaints, this tight and secure fit is it. I had to take it off once to do a battery pull and I thought I was going to destroy it getting it off. If you like to frequently swap out spare batteries, this is probably not the case for you. Other than that, I can't find any faults with it.

i like the case alot, fits perfect. It adds no bulk at all which is what i wanted cause i also never used a case on my previous phone just the Zagg shield, i have full zagg on along with this case so the tops and bottom where the case does not cover is still protected. Also i have a tpu case and the otterbox commuter, i use each depending on the kind of things i do that day.
I'm with you, I've never used a case and I always used to bad mouth people who made their brand new phone ugly as **** buy putting a case on it. Hell, I even got my roommate to go naked with his Droid X.
BUT, I dropped my new baby Evo3D a few times already and since I'm no longer rich, I thought, I'd put a case on it. Got one of these bad boys from ebay, $2.19 shipped
The fit is perfect and it doesn't look bad either. Adds minimal thickness. I also ordered a ballistic case just to try it out...we'll see though. I don't want the phone to look like a brick

I had that case also and agree, very nice and doesn't add much bulk at all. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, getting it off the phone is ridiculously difficult IMO. Also, I didn't like the fact that instead of having smaller, precise cutouts for just the camera lenses and the flash, it had one giant cutout in the back for the entire camera module (leaves the area more susceptible to scratches IMO). So I returned it and got a case from tpu-cases.com. Different material but adds about the same amount of neglible bulk to the phone. More importantly for me though, it doesn't have the one giant cutout in the back but rather, instead, has smaller cutouts just for the two camera lenses, flash, and speaker.
how about this? htc official case
http://store.androidcentral.com/htc-tatami-hard-shell-case/4A123A8759.htm
I think the case mate barely there is the thinnest case out there. I got a couple of copycat cases from here:
Case-Mate barely there copycat
Another Case-Mate barely there copycat
I bought both of them in black. They turned out to be identical. Both are the same thinness and have the soft touch paint in the back. Now I got 2 of them.... and can only use one..... pushing my wife to get an EVO 3D as well when her contract is up in Nov.
I have a case like the CaseMate Barely There on my 4th Gen IPod Touch and love it. For my 3D, u have all 3 Otterbox cases and use them for different activities.

I have this one, and in a few colors. Really like it, too. For some reason, I get obsessed with trying lots of new cases, so I have about a dozen, probably.
There's no cases in stores around me (Bay Area) because they didnt sell the phone here so i have to buy one online. Anyone have this case? Is it good? Mic holes? Thanks

The case keeps the super slim profile of the phone, adding no bulk at all. Keeps scratches off the back but i think if you drop this you'll be in trouble, i like it though. Also the screen protector they send with the phone is the International version with the home button cut out.

finally! ive been waiting for the feather to come out for our device. ive had this for my iphone and its my fav case ever.
according to the pics from the site, doesnt look like any of the mic holes are covered even on the noise cancellation. the cut out looks big enough.
I have the other case they sell and it is an amazing case but the power button is hard to press. It is a very noticeable difference and I'm still deciding if its a deal breaker or not. You have to press it from the right angle every time and it is annoying.
Looks like the top is is actually open. I think I'ma try this one.
Too bad they don't offer white or red -- I'd be all over it in a heartbeat...
EDIT: I'm going to go ahead and try the blue one.
If anyone is interested, there's a 15% coupon floating around: FBFAN2011
(Note if you just add the item to your cart and you try to pay there is no place to enter the promo code, but if you add to your cart, browse the site a little more, and then click 'view cart' at the upper right hand as if you were going to edit the order, you can then add the code -- at least that is what worked for me)!
Looks tempting - if anyone can compare with the Casemate barely there and/or the Rearth Slim I'd appreciate it - I've got both of those but I'm always willing to upgrade
Looks like ill be getting it then
Ordered mine on Saturday, got the shipping confirmation today. Hope to get it by the end of the week!
FYI- I recently got the casemate barely there and despite what I read the top is cut properly for our i777 top mic, just like the pic posted above.
Hope that may help some who were unsure about it.
Mine should be here today

Just got it now, im going to update the OP when the pics finish uploading.
Thanks for sharing, seems like a cool case.
Thanks for the pictures.
I'm a little bummed out because I thought the sides went around to the front a little more. Based on Picture 3 in the OP, it looks like the screen will sit flush on a surface if it's placed faced down. That's one thing I really liked about my Case Mate case right now.
My case comes in on Friday, I'm hoping it works out ok.
Sorry, wrong case comment
I too wish it had the lay on the table design
Well I got my case in and tried it out. Sure enough, it doesn't fit quite right on the bottom part of the phone. I'm really disappointed, I think that is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to have to worry about my phone screen getting scratched up due to the poor fit. I also suspect this will make the phone susceptible to falling out of the case as well.
Bummer.

you should probably try to exchange for another one. can you take some pics of how it doesnt fit quite right? im about to order one but if its a bad batch, im gonna wait a bit before i order.
i have the same model for my iphone and love it. i have 4 different color. this model doesnt wrap around to the front and create a lip. its pretty much just a thin plastic skin for the phone.
Here's what my case looks like.
I used the case tonight and it feels like the phone pops out of the case. It seems like the area that going around the bottom of the phone and the bump. When I squeeze the sides, it feel like it gives a little bit and somewhat clicks to look more like the top of the case, but it doesn't stay.
I'm emailing Incipio to see what they can do. I don't really want to get the other case, so I will probably just return it.
So I have been looking for a case that doubles as a wallet so I could free up a pocket. I came across the Spigen Valentinus. I have read a couple reviews on it for other phones, but none for the note. Read some good things about it so I ordered it from Amazon for $44.99. It came in about a week ago and I am pretty pleased. Even though it's faux leather, the quality and stitching seem to be top notch. Has a smooth feel to it and isn't overwhelming in the hand.
It only has slots for 4 cards/license and a space for money. But since I carried a front pocket wallet before, this wasn't a problem. I carry my license and main debit card with me in it. My other membership cards, AAA etc., have apps that I use so I don't have to carry them anymore. I rarely ever carry cash on me, but if I do its only a few bills. Any more than 5 or 6 bills would probably be a little thick for the case. If you are a person who carries a lot of cash or has a George Costanza wallet, this is definitely not for you.
The size of the case is around 6" tall and 3 1/2" wide. Almost an inch thick with the phone inside. If you wear skinny jeans, this is a no go. It fits nicely for me in my pockets, but may be a tad large for some people.
As far as phone/camera use goes while in the case, I haven't had any issues. The front flap folds around the back easily to text or playbgames, although, to take a picture or video it is a little awkward at first. Talking on the phone is not an issue at all. The phone will even still read nfc through the case. I would recommend using a screen protector with this as the cards touch the screen and may possibly cause a minor scratch over time.
Overall, for a wallet case, I would rate this a 4 out of 5. If it were a little thinner and came with is own screen protector, like other Spigen products do, it would be an easy 5. Hope someone finds this useful.

Have the all black version for the past month+ and it has been great! Basically eliminated my wallet and does fit in the rear pocket of most jeans. Seems durable too.
I don't know if I'd want my debit cards conatantly rubbing against my screen.

I would like to know the answer to this too, is anyone rocking their wallet case in their back pocket and sitting on their note?

I think this case looks beautiful but I would like to know if it's not to intrusive when you try to take a picture. That looks like the only possible downside to me.
I am still waiting for my case to come but I sit on my naked note all the time. I do take it out of my pocket if I sit on a hard surface just to be safe as I'm a good sized guy at 6'3" 230lbs. But my phones have all taken serious beatings. I'm rough on things and my sgs2 took the beatings so so very well... I assume my note will as well. Its already taken a tumble down 15-20 wooden stairs and also fell out of my work shirt pocket from 8 foot or so onto the concrete floor and made it through without so much as even a scratch. And keep in mind I have no case no screen protector. So these things are pretty tough. My wife's white skyrocket is missing clear coat already and she babies it. I assume it was just a bad coating to begin with.

I dropped my first note in a parking lot picking up my daughter from school and the screen instantly cracked. It was in a slim tpu case and it still cracked. I'm babying this damn thing now. I don't think I could carry it in my back pocket.

Of course there will always be cases of good and bad luck with everything. Ive probably just been very lucky so far. I also ran my sgs2 over in the grass with my truck and and was fine. So I mean as far as build quality goes I think the galaxy series are pretty tough but they aren't indestructible and there's always going to be factory flukes that cause a bad experience for someone. Which really is a shame because they are great devices.

In my search for a good N6 case, I finally decided to pick this one up from the AT&T store (LINK). It has a nice, premium feel to it, and has magnets to turn the screen on/off when opening. At first glance, it's identical to what's shown on the Play Store (LINK), but there are a few differences in the card openings and stitching. I really like the speaker cut-outs, allowing you to talk on the phone while it's closed. So far, I'm quite impressed.
UPDATE 1: If you want to use it as a wallet and place credit cards or ID inside, be mindful that the flap doesn't close flat. I'm personally not using the case for that purpose, but this is the only issue I've discovered.
UPDATE 2: Wireless charging still works with the case on.
UPDATE 3: After a few weeks of use, there have been several frayed threads coming loose in between the the outer and inner surface of the flaps. I've cut them with scissors, but more are showing up. For a $40 case, this shouldn't be an issue. The edges should've been bonded together so these threads weren't prone to exposure. I like the functionality of this case, but this is disappointing.

WOW!!! That looks nice! I bought this, i'd be happy if it is only half as nice as yours. I may be purchasing the casemate here in the future.

That looks like a good, less expensive alternative. There seems to be no cut-out for the bottom speaker, so I'm wondering if that would affect calls while closed.
How easy is it to fold the cover 180°? Or is it possible at all?

It folds 180° just fine. Doesn't stay flat due to the phone's curved back, but still usable.
Happy to hear about the wireless charging. Which charger do you use?

I'm using the LG WCP-300.
Does anyone know if this case has a sleep sensor? That would be a killer case if it does, does the Nexus 6 even have the sleep sensor functionality? I remember the Nexus 5 did and wallet cases made full use of it. Wonder if the Nexus 6 will be the same

This is capable of "sleeping" and "waking" the phone when the flap opens or closes, just like pressing the power button.
Thanks for the information on the charger. One more question---are there cutouts for the volume and power buttons, or are they covered by the case frame? Also are there magnets to keep it closed (I noticed that reviews of this same case for other phones stated that there were no magnets, despite the description saying that there were.)

The buttons are covered by the case frame. The case has it's own raised buttons that mimic the phone's. You can see them in one of the photos I posted at the top.

There aren't any magnets to keep it shut, only small ones for the sleep/wake functionality.
Picked this case up a few day's ago.... No complaints from me!! Love the added protection for the entire phone when I'm taking it in and out of my pockets, or laying it face down on my desk at work... :good:
Are the volume and power controls fairly stable (not loose), and are they responsive? Thanks for answering my questions. I'm starting to feel like I'm interrogating you---hope you don't feel that way. Your answers are very helpful.

Not a problem! The buttons have a tiny amount of play side-to-side, but are very responsive and stay raised. They are very similar to what's on the actual phone.
I hope casemate makes a gelli case like the one for the new moto x
Not for me
Let me prefix by saying this phone needs a case. It's too unwieldy to go alone without some kind of screen & fall protection.
I went to the local T-Mobile store, since I was nearby, just to check if they had the case. I was surprised to see this case in-store as it's still not on sale on the google play store. This is the one I was waiting on, and I was ready to purchase! I removed this case from the box, the construction feels like junk. Complete and utter junk. Then, to my surprise, I found broken pieces floating around in the case. There's no way I was going with that one.
Then I grab the clear case (same one on google play store), which is not what I want, but I need a temporary solution (other than my rag) so I don't mess up my $700 device. I open the box to that, and I just couldn't do it. The case for that is so bad and it has one of those cheap, crappy kick stands. I was kinda hoping for something like my SO got off Moto's site, which is similar to this one), but for her Moto X (2013).
I've got some D-Brand skins on the way, and I hope to wrap a good Amazon folio case around soon all that soon. Something I can remove at the end of the day and enjoy my nude phone. :good:
What case did you look at bro? this case is nice and sturdy and build pretty well..
i just got it and love it..especially love the fact that it turns my screen off and on when opening flip cover..
I'm planning to use this case on my mountek magnetic carmount, by inserting a metal plate in the back of the case for extra grip. Seeing that the back of your case sort of folds, would you say there's room for the metal plate? Can't tell from your photo's how exactly it is constructed. See below pic to see what I mean

It should work. There's a hard shell case under the folding material that you can attach the plate, similar to your photo.
