HELP!! Softbricked - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I hope someone here can help me
I have a galaxy S3 GT-I9300 I was running cyanogen mode and having issues with mms so thought about going back to stock
I followed a guide and used triangle away to get the counter back to zero and flashed what I though was standard firmware.
I'm now stuck in a bottloop and cant get back to any form or rom customer or other wise
In download mode I get
PRODUCT NAME GT-I9300
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD YES (1 COUNT)
CUSTOM BINARY SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS OFFICAL
I'm really not sure where to go from here
Please help and thanks in anticipation

[Q] sgs3 system status-custom .. why?

hello , i have sgs3.
few weaks ago it stoped working,
it shut down and when i tried to turn it on it was stuck on the SAMSUNG logo.
and its not charging the battery.
couldnt get into recovery mode, and when i got into download mode it shows
i had an original 4.04 samung israel rom, and never tried to change it or customizig it.
when i tried to get service from samsung israel , they saw the download mode and said that i tried to custom my rom and wrecked the phone.
and i DID'NT.
im trying to find out why do they think that, why is that line
"system status - custom" showed up?
i didnt try to custom.. can it be becouse of a physically problem in the phone?
please help me.
thank u, Amir
Your phone goes into download mode, try to flash a stock rom for your region.

i didnt root
had OTA a week before it happened.
and now i cant flash a new rom , they say the motherboard is damaged
Thread moved to proper forum.
can that OTA change that line to "custom"?
Not really ota updates are official firmware so it should leave that as Samsung official the only way you'll get that to be custom is by rooting and flashing custom firmware.
Sent From My Omega'd Galaxy S3 ...
Their have been some posts where users say OTA has changed it to custom .
I would argue this point with Samsung .
Or try flash stock firmware reboot and factory reset and see if it clears custom .

I doubt it; a stock (company based) build of Android has no customization in it, and the OTA updates install via recovery, therefore they "sneak past" the download mode. I mean (Please correct me, if I'm wrong, I've never [ever] done an OTA update on a Samsung Android device, so there's my XP gone.) but if you install software via CWM, it normally won't show up, in download mode, because they are two different parts of the system, and it basically thinks, that only original software gets installed via recovery (because obviously, not everyone on the world, knows what is possible with any computer.
So much from me
Hope I could help!

Try (Obv try this at your own risk, tho Odin is relatively safe)
Odin to flash a stock rom,
wipe everything (data,cache,dalvik).
Flash Siyah kernel,
use triangle away,
flash stock rom (to get rid of Siyah).
This should reset the counter to 0 and set everything to "Official".
I say to flash Siyah first because TA doesn't work all the time on the official kernels.
Next time, leave OTAs alone, just flash it in Odin when a new FW pops up on Sammobile
there is no option to flash a new rom .
few days ago i went to a lab and they said i need to change the motherboard..
it is too expensive so i didnt do it.
today i went to a different lab, they said (as i suspected from the beginning) that the flash memory is not working
and thats why in the 1st line there is no device name (should be i9300 )
and this is why the word custom is written in the last line..
my problem was that samsung israel declined my warrenty becouse they thought i flashed a rom , but i didnt.
so hopefully i can prove them that i didnt do it.
i'll see what happen tommorow when i get back my phone from the lab

Count set to 1 after recovery mode

Hello!
I want to unroot my I9300. I have flashed stock 4.1.2 through Odin because i had SN5.
Everything worked fine but when I want to use TriangleAway the count resets back to 0. The problem is when I enter in recovery mode to delete cache etc. . After exiting recovery mode and entering download mode the count is 1 again. What should I do??

Search would answer this multiple posted question .
Factory reset .
Run TA
Flash stock firmware via Odin ,
Factory reset .
Check rom count and device status are no longer custom .
BASICS .

rptoma ,just do what jegan told you to
If by chance your phone has problems AFTER just download from samfirmware whicerver firmware you want and flash it.
It`s failproof if you folow the tutorial
iirc, the red exclamation mark is related to the custom recovery(CWM) and not rooting itself.you can be rooted while having the stock recovery and not have the counter ticked.you can try flashing a stock sammy recovery then use TA and your binary counter should stay 0 even with the new bootloader.
Note: i havent done this personally in a while since i flashed the old bootloader on the phone so i dont experience it anymore.
Thanks JJEgan for your help. It worked!
not for me sorry

1- GT-I9300 International model (Portugal);
2- Android 4.1.2
3- I9300XXELLA
I rooted with mskip V7.0 (Thanks!).
Then, since i was getting de RED exclamation mark i ran Triangleaway v 2.75 to see if i could reset the counter (set to 1) and get rid of it.
No success so i did as JJEgan said (Thanks!) but had no success also.
I flashed the stock rom (downloaded via http: -- www .sammobile.com with Odin and aftrer that i flashed the custom recovery with mskip's toolkit.
Still the red mark and counter with 1.
Any help is welcome .......... and it's all right if someone calls me noob (haha).
Cheers
----> Edit:
Solved.
Flashed Vodafone's ROM. Full wipe. Root with chainfire's way (thanks). Triangle away. Done.
Can't tell you how and why but it worked.

[Q] i'll need smart help here for this problem :)

hello everyone ..
my story is that when i reset the flash counter to " 0 " in triangle and after that do a full wipe to preparing the phone for a new rom the problems begin .. i've put the phone in download mode and i find that the (custom binary download "say" : yes and the system status "say" : custom ) !!! .. to confirm i do two times (reset flash count) "" before "" i wipe anything from the phone and make a test by going to download mode to check that everything is ok fortunately the test was ok everything was perfect the " custom binary download " say : no and system status say official .. this was before i wipe the phone .. so when i wipe everything and go in to the download mode i find that the "root" back and like i side up there the (custom binary download "say" : yes and the system status "say" : custom ) so what should i do .. some help mates ... thanks

Why are people so hung up on flash counter, and status? Is there something wrong with your phone that you need to send it to a service centre? If so triangle away then install stock rom/recovery via odin and all should be Ok.

Help! GT-I9300 stuck at loading screen

Hi.
As the title says, my GT-I9300 (SSN I9300GSMH) is stuck at loading screen. This occured sometime while it was charging. I looked into this problem on the forums and tyed out the following:
1. Soft reseting doesn't seem to do anything.
2. Unable to do a hard reset, as the Volume-up+Home+Power doesn't work.
I am only able to get into download mode so I can reinstall stock ROM. So my question is, where do I find the stock ROM (I9300GSMH). Can't find it anywhere, and some of the suggested download locations seem to be down.
What can I do? Im a big noob in all of this, so any kind of help would be appreciated.
Ty in advance.

OK. I went to sammobile.com and found the specified firmware and the XXEMH1 is listed as Country/Carrier Austria and Nederlands. Does this affect the flashing at all? Can I download any ROM or do I need a specific one for my SSN exactly?
When u say "download the latest firmware from my carrier", what do u mean? How do I do this?
Sry for the noob questions :/

In download mode odin mode what does it say for product code ??
For your carrier .
That means your network >> either update via Kies or find it on sammobile or visit your networks service centre.
Basics read first.

I read the SDS thread and Im sure that is my problem.
This to be exact:
"2) Half SDS as it has not-so-affectionately become known. This tends to be more of a boot loop of the Samsung boot splash. the eMMC is partially wiped out. You cannot boot into android or recovery. It fails at the boot screen, but the screen does turn on none-the-less. The only; thing you can do is top boot into Download mode.
One problem Half SDS has is that the information download mode uses to show the status as "Official" appears to be wiped out by the bug, leaving your status as "Custom". This can leave you in a precarious position as this is what Samsung uses to establish warranty validity. You may also see your product field is blank."
My product field is blank and my status is custom. I cant boot into recovery and it fails on the boot screen leaving it on the samsung logo and staying like that.

You require a service centre repair .
Samsung may or may not reject as warranty .

[Q] Galaxy GT-I9300

after root and cyanogen a gt-i9300 i've change my mind to restore it to the official firmware, the problem is that after odin finish the recovery the phone reboots starting sorting the appls in a foreign language (i think its polish and i think this caused byt the rooting) and after that it resets again show the samsung logo and freezzes with back and settings button to flash every 4-5 seconds.
After that i tried several different root/unroot.and firmwares with odin but it always end up to the same loop.
any help appreciate it.
Follow the guide in general forum, sticky, to flash back to official stock rom. Download the correct rom for your country at Sammobile.com.

Cant found the greek firmware @ sammobile but I have download the europe.
Does the same thing, I believe the problem is in the rooting, the cf-autoroot-m0-m0xx-gti9300 did the damage and thats why says foreign language when setting up the apps.
How can reverse these procedure and unroot it?
Thanks
ok i've download the International-GT-i9300-StockRecovery and flash it but still does the same thing.
the binary counter is at 12 and i cant use the triangle apk cause i can boot properly to the phone.
can i use only param?
Follow the guide includes factory reset after flashing a full stock firmware, this resets CSC code to the firmware -make sure you use the right firmware.
