Hey folks. I recently got an LG spectrum 2 (vs930, 4g LTE verizon phone. GSM quad band unlocked)
I'm using lycamobile(prepaid) but for information sake I have tried with an ATT sim, tmobile sim, and this lycamobile sim. APN setup.
Calls, Text, and Data all work fine. Contacts to and from sim card works fine.
But I have this ONE notification(no matter which sim is inserted) on my status bar that will NOT go away. Its on the right side so there is nothing in the drop down shade about it. I have exhausted google and can't come up with anything.
If you know what this is, PLEASE tell me. It's not the same as the sim+cog notification. I've removed simtoolkit and it stays.
I just want to get rid of it something fierce.

Im interested too, im using it outside USA (Mexico) on gsm and that icon appear with this carrier's TELCEL, IUSACELL, Unefon but if I insert a Movistar sim card the icon disappears... that's rare
I have exposed framework so I think maybe a module can hide it
Enviado desde mi VS930 4G mediante Tapatalk
perhaps, your sim card need to be registered, but if everything work fine, it's weird, maybe you should go to your phone store, and ask it there...

Everything work fine, and I see everybody using it on gsm have the same icon, the weird think is why with Movistar sim that icon don't appear, same icon spear on my LG intuition and again with Movistar disappear... only with that carrier Sim cards
So I was searching a mod that can hide the icon I think there should be a way to do it
Enviado desde mi VS930 4G mediante Tapatalk
Finally I take out that unknown SIM icon from notification bar...
To make it disappears just do the follow steps.
1.-you should be rooted
2.-with a root explorer or build.prop editor modify this line:
ro.build:target_operator=VZW
To this:
ro.build:target_operator=OPEN
3.- reboot your phone and done, that icon will never apear again
I try this and is successful in my spectrum 2 and my lg intuition (in this model the line apear twice, modify both), so I think this should work with other models like the Lg-G2... just try it doing a backup first

No worries, it's not your fault. My bad didn't do a backup, and I was distracted at the time of editing the build.prop that I might have messed up something, like added an additional character somewhere for example(not too sure now). I was too anxious to get rid of that darn sim icon, lol.
Anyways I was able to flash my phone back to default setting and working now. You said you have tried this method on G2 with success, is it running 4.4.2?

Ah I see. A side question completely off topic, Sprint g2 works with gsm out of the box? No sim unlock is needed?
No sim unlock needed, but need root it and change one folder on system... And as i know it only work outside us... I'm from mexico

Hello, I read your question and I own a Verizon galaxy note 2, and I found 2 methods to get rid of that icon:
1.- use titanium backup (root reqquired) to freeze app called setup wizard.
2.- use "appmgr III" available in play store to again, freeze the app mention above.
I believe no backup is needed, but it's always recommended to do one. In case these methods causes app force closes then you can simply unfreeze the app..
Hope it helps..

What are the other files for?
Hey there Fabio!
Great job coming up with the logo within hours of its release from Motorola itself. It is an achivement UNLOCKED !! =D
But, I was wondering what the other files in the RAR archive are for: such as logo.bin, mbm.bin, mbmloader.bin, allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin
Are the supposed to be there at all? Because your tutorial just uses the xml file... I'm afraid something will screw up if I don't do it correctly..
Anyways, I shall give this a try personally whenever I'm on my desktop, which has RSDLite installed.
Thank you so much for the mod!!

Opa colega, muito boa essa ideia, fiz todo o procedimento e deu tudo certo..
So uma pergunta colega, e se eu quiser voltar ao logo original?

Thanks mate, this very good idea, I did the whole procedure and everything went well ..
one more question mate, and if I want to return the original image?
Thanks ! Looks great
Is there a belonging bootanimation ? Would be nice to have all in "one" style :good:

You should probably list RSD Lite in the requirements.
After installing this my phone can't get past the new logo. It just sits there with black screen and a red LED. I had to disconnect and reconnect to get RSD Lite to recognize it as pass, but that's been done before.. Whats wrong?
Edit: Feeling quite frustrated as simply installing a new logo seems to have caused me to be forced to reinstall my phone entirely, if I can even get that working.

Really why? Its clearly 1 of the tools listed to perform the install. Also before doing any mod 1 should have a backup and fastboot files handy. Just my 2 cents.
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
You misunderstand, I was saying that you should add RSD Lite in the requirements, as its not mentioned at all until you get to that step as it is now. Those who don't know they'll need it might start the process up and then realize they're missing RSD Lite.
And yeah, I have backups etc. For some reason I couldn't get anywhere however. I fixed it now by reinstalling my ROM via recovery. The new logo is there, and the ROM is now working. I have no idea what went wrong, never seen that kind of issue before. Very strange, but it works now at least.
Logo looks great!

Because I also think those who are new might not be aware about RSD lite. Not everyone is experienced in flashing things, there are many beginners and making a guide noob friendly is not a harmful thing. It's just a suggestion to op, that's all. And I see he has fixed it too.
Thanks for the logo again!

Is there ever going to be an official nougat OTA for the swift 2 considering that Cyanogen OS is no longer being updated? Or is the nougat update going to scrap Cyanogen OS and go with something different?
I've seen in some videos where the reviewer was told (from the company) that the device should get nougat anytime soon, but they didn't gave any timetable. It's going to be fun if they drop CyanogenOS and switch to any other system, since Wileyfox doesn't have the resources OnePlus had when they created OxygenOS, for example.
Still, this device seems to be quite open and developer-friendly, just look at the original Swift and all the development it already had. Whenever I get mine after this Christmas, I'd want to try to start working on bringing CyanogenMod 14.1 to it, but don't quote me on that. I'll try to do my best
EDIT: I've found the video I mentioned, however I think on Recombu's review they did also mention something... Hope it's helpful.
I talked with Wileyfox's official account on Twitter and they told me the very first Swift shall get the Nougat update with Cyanogen goodies. If the first gets it, why wouldn't the following devices?
(Sorry for my broken English)

However, they did not officially say whether the update would contain Android 7.0 or 7.1.1, so, what are your sources on that? And what do you mean by "almost done"? Since from what I know, if they really plan to launch it this month they'd currently be in testing phase, not in production

You can't install a official OTA through TWRP, it must be with the AOSP recovery that came preinstalled.
To solve it: Flash the latest fastboot images available at cyanogen's support site and from there you should be able to install the OTA.

That picture says that the system partition has unexpected contents (aka tampered). You need to flash all fastboot images, meaning, erasing your userdata (copy that zip to your pc/external SD card before erasing userdata, since you'll loose it), cache, system partition, dtb, modem, etc, just like I said in my previous post. After that it should work just fine
I thought that I have to install only the recovery "original". If I install all options I will lose everything that I have in my system now??
Can I disable OTA?
Thank you in advance.

If you flash everything, yes, it will remove all contents even from your internal memory.
You can disable OTA by removing WF-OTA folder from /system/app (Although I'm not sure if the system will like the idea too much, so I'd rather freeze the package with TB or something like that).
Ok I will use TB to stop the module.
Thank you for your information.
Best regards.

Well...if you don't give sources...how can we know you're not lying...? Plus it's not gonna kill you to add a link or something...?
Huge thanks to @hyelton , @Ferga2790 & @jounatam for instructions and testing.
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA LOSS OR BRICKED DEVICES! Make a backup of your phone's data as it might be necessary to factory reset it further down the line.
With the disclaimers out of the way, let's begin!
What you will need:
H872PR G6 (H871 and LS993VZA work too) running Stock Nougat
Reliable USB cable & port (USB 3 recommended)
The files stored here: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda%2FLG+G6%2FLGUP%2F (huge thanks to @hyelton for these files!)
The H873 Oreo kdz of your choice (tested by @jounatam with H87320c_00_OPEN_CA_OP_0424.kdz & by me with H87320e_00_OPEN_CA_OP_0601.kdz)
~7-8 minutes of patience
STEP 1: PREPARING LGUP:
Download all the linked files in the third bullet point earlier.
Run the LG Mobile driver installer. Wait for it to install completely!
Run the LGUP installer once the driver has been installed.
After installing LGUP, go to it's install directory (Usually C: \ Program Files (x86) \ LG Electronics \ LGUP).
Extract the LGUP_V20dll_Patched (3).zip file to your desktop or folder of choice.
Copy the files that you just extracted into the LGUP install directory (It will ask to overwrite LGUP.exe and the folder called "Model").
You should now be able to run LGUP!
BEFORE THE NEXT STEP, PUT YOUR G6 INTO DOWNLOAD MODE BY TURNING IT OFF AND HOLDING VOLUME UP (+) WHILE CONNECTING YOUR PHONE INTO THE PC!
STEP 2: LGUP OPTIONS AND FLASHING:
Run LGUP from the desktop shortcut or by clicking LGUP.exe in it's install directory.
On the lower half of the screen, click on the "BIN file" space (below "file path"), a button with 3 dots (...) should appear on the side.
Click the button and look for your Oreo kdz. MAKE SURE IT'S AN H873 KDZ! I can't stress this enough.
Once the kdz location appears next to "BIN file", click on the "Partition DL" option.
Click start.
A small window prompt will appear with a few checkboxes. Click "Select all".
Another window will appear asking if the selected operations are correct. Click "yes".
The flashing process will begin. Make sure to not disconnect your phone or power off your computer!
Once it's done, your G6 will reboot and LGUP will instruct you to "click to continue". Click the notice then disconnect your phone.
You should be running Oreo now! If you chose the 20e security patch, your phone will be automatically rebranded to G6 ThinQ on bootup.
HOW DO I UPDATE MY PHONE?
Just follow the first steps but still make sure you are using an H873 kdz file! I have tested updating with the August security patch (H87320g_00_OPEN_CA_OP_0809.kdz) and it works normally. You won't need to reset data.
I FINISHED FLASHING MY PHONE AND NOW IT WON'T BOOT!
If your phone gets stuck in the LG G6 (or LG G6 ThinQ) logo, hold the power and volume down (-) button at the same time. Once the phone reboots, let go of the power button and quickly hold it again, without letting go of the volume down button. You should enter the factory reset mode.
Once in factory reset mode, follow the on-screen instructions to reset your phone! Once done, your G6 will reboot and perform setup operations as if it were a new device.
Finally, a few warnings:
Your phone will no longer be able to go back to Claro's firmware, at least not for now.
If you had to factory reset your phone, you will be locked out of it if you don't remember the original gmail account tied to it.
Although this method has been working for the H871 and LS993VZA models, I cannot guarantee that this method will work 100% of the time with any device.
Hope this helped! Huge thanks again to everyone who posted valuable information leading up to this.
Does this work for H872TN (T-mobile)? Anyone tested the above method?
Thanks a lot for sharing.. Finally manage to update to H873 oreo from H872PR nougat..
Now I'm wondering if I could unlock the bootloader just like other variants..
Kinda regret buying this phone online without doing a research about the variants..
I thought all variants should be able to unlock the bootloader..

Sadly, I haven't seen a bootloader unlock for H873 yet; but don't lose hope!
EDIT: I have updated to the newest security patch(H87320g_00_OPEN_CA_OP_0809.kdz) without issue. If you have already converted your phone to H873, it will update normally and you won't need to reset data. Your files will be intact!

Unfortunately, I have not tested this with any other device as I only own an H872PR. It's not advisable to update using this method as some G6 models have different hardware and software developed for them and you could end up bricking them.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply
I can confirm that the H873 KDZ files I mentioned in the first post work for the H872PR. Let me know if you need any help!

Hola!
Aunque no lo he probado, es posible que puedas volver a la version que tenias anteriormente utilizando el mismo procedimiento que he explicado aqui. Si funciona (o no), me dejas saber! De esa manera actualizo la información que he escrito en el primer post.

Hi how did u force update from h871 to h873 nad what partitions did u use? Your wifi problem is probably because u flashed the modem partition. Leave modem alone ,ull probably have to go back to the kdz that had wifi working for u then flash kdz for the other variant , just untick the modem partition. Please post updates.
Thanks for the guide, I have successfully converted H872PR to H873. First i updated to oreo then i updated to H873 PIE , H87330B
I found the Oreo firmware for H872PR H872PR20a_00_0404.kdz
is it okay to convert H873 back to H872PR?

I know this is an old thread, but it applies to my situation.
I have an LG G6. IMEI guru says it's a H872PR, but the phone claims it is an H873. I bought it new/sealed and "unlocked" from an ebay seller. I am unclear on what is going on with the H872PR versus H873 thing.
It's running Nougat/7. (Quite well. I really like this phone.)
In the settings there is not an option to use VoLTE. My carrier tells me that due to the 3G networks being phased out (since I don't have VoLTE) the phone will stop being able to be a phone soon. (Not that big of deal, right? Who talks on the phone anymore? )
I can buy a new phone, but the whole thing about not being able to update really irks me. So that's why I am here!
I found Oreo/8 .kdz out there, and this thread is a good description of how to use LGUP to push them to the phone. With the risk of bricking out there, I am hesitant. If I push the Oreo/8 update, will I gain VoLTE? (Reading on here, there seems to be some problems with Pie/9.)
Thanks in advance!

Update: LG Bridge works for my phone. (I know it doesn't for everyone.) Anyway I was able to use it to get to Oreo/8, and then Pie/9. VoLTE doesn't work for either. Oh, well. I tried.

Hello
China Packages have limited active Bands and Aggregation is not active on Global Bands! This guide will help you to remove that limit and active global bands easily!
Because of new security patch, your device must be rooted to be able to activate Diag Port!
I have edited the needed file and all you need is below files, So download them and do the rest:
Files Required
1. IMEI Converter
https://www.mediafire.com/file/4qkiwnglhnejtmb/IMEI_Converter.exe/file
2. QPST Flash Tools
https://androiddatahost.com/w68st
3. Notepad++
And the Important File
https://www.mediafire.com/file/k5yccs1ih2islv8/EditedQCN.xqcn/file
Guide:
First thing First:
I'm Not Responsible for any Damage caused to your phone
Use QPST Flash tools and make a backup, So if any thing happened wrong you can restore it easily!
For start, the Diag Port must be on:
There are two ways to enable diagnostic mode after root which are as follows:
1. ADB
Enable "USB Debugging"on your phone.
Connect it to your PC/Laptop.
Open "Minimal ADB & Fastboot" Command Prompt with administrative rights.
Type adb devices and press enter.
Type adb shell and press enter.
Type su and press enter.
Type setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb and press enter.
2. Terminal Emulator App
Install any "Terminal Emulator" app from play store e.g. Termux
Enable "USB Debugging"on your phone.
Connect it to your PC/Laptop.
Open "Termux" .
Type su and press enter.
Type setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb and press enter.
If got success you must see the Diag Port in Device Manager like this:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So let's start,Connect phone to PC:
1- Open QPST and make a backup
Save the file for any further problem
Now use the IMEI Converter and convert your IMEI to HEX!
NOW:
Open Editedqcn file with Notepad++
1. Find the line zz zz zz zz zz zz zz zz zz
Replace them with the HEX number of your FIRST IMEI
2.Find the line xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
Replace them with the HEX number of your Second IMEI
3.Find your WIFI Mac address- Go to setting/My device/All specs/status
Find the lines(4 lines) zx zx zx zx zx zx
replace them with your WIFI MAC (the mac is already in HEX so, no need to change just find the exact)
4.Now save the file
Open QPST and thsi time choose restore tab, browse for qcn file that edited and restore it in your phone! Wait for 10 second and then unplug the phone!
Restart
And Boom
Now 4G+
After doing the whole procedure our device have permanent support to carrier aggregation? Flashing from global to China beta for example we have to flag this again?

This guide is for Chinese packages that don't aggregate bands in other countries !
One question:
This procedure unlock BAND 28 in chinese phones too?
Because I buy a chinese one (in a Xiami store in Shangai) and use it in Brazil. When I was in São Paulo I already saw 4G+. but I don´t know if it was using BAND 28.
Thanks
thanks for your work, I did everything as instructed and BOOM... no 4G+

I believe that this is carrier dependent also, so if your carrier doesn't support aggregation, then no use about all this process!
Let's use my example, i have global version of this phone and all of this is natively supported and when i am within reach of my carrier station then i have 4G+ sign, but when is other way around then there is no 4G+ icon, no carrier aggregation!
If I put my sim card in my old Samsung s8 I have full range 4G+, on Mi9 full range 4G only. So I'm sure it's the Mi9's fault.
I am using xiaomi.eu and I get 4g+ on mine. I suppose I don't have to do this, right.
Can this support b20 on chinese device model?

Excellent!
Then You know 100% that there is a "fault" on Mi 9 side but again, if You have Global-EEA Version and not Chinese then this is strange because all this bands should be already unlocked-enabled in Global-EEA version of this device.
Now it's cross my mind, what type of ROM is on Your device?!
Is it Global ROM or EEA ROM?!
I believe that I heave red on some forum that if You are in EEA region then it's better to flash this ROM on device because there is also some modem drivers discrepancy between Global and EEA version of the ROM (if You compare sizes of corresponding files in those two ROM's, You will see that they are different also).
Now, maybe I'm wrong but I also have this EEA ROM on my device and just as i have said, at me this carrier aggregation is working as it should.

Put your SIM card in the S8+, turn on mobile data and wait till you connect to 4G+, then open the dialer and dial *#0011#, press STACK1 if the SIM is in slot 1, and STACK2 if in slot 2.
You'll get to a ServiceMode screen, take a screenshot of that and post it here. The phone may be using bands that the Mi9 doesn't support.
partially works
I have a Mi 9 Chinese, 6/128. I did all the procedures correctly, and it shows that I have 4G + on the screen, but when I try to use some application / browser, there is no connection. Any suggestions what might be wrong?

1. Download and update the file with the name update.zip.
2. Place that file in storage/emulated/0/ota/update.zip
3. Dial *#*#1027#*#* and do accordingly.
Is anyone facing any issues after the update?
Does it void warranty or does it need any type of rooting and other stuff? Before installing or is ther any issues faced during update?
++++++ ota error(20) ++++++
Hi, I'm having an error, please help.
I already renamed the file to update.zip, and moved to "storage/emulated/0/ota/" folder.
when I hit "Local Update", it will have a note below my screen in red font: ++++++ OTA ERROR(20) ++++++
and when I hit "Pressure test switch", it will have a pop-up that says: The upgrade pakage list update_package_list or update_package_list_next does not exist.
I'm using BS2 Global.
my current version is: SKYW2005101OS01MQ0
do I need to update in another version before I can apply this OTA (MQ01)?
Thank you.

Yep. Just wait for the official update. Kahit yung sakin S00, hindi ko to flinash. May tendency kasi talaga na nabrebreak yung OTA. And pansin ko rin sa updater, nag-iba sila ng server para sa updates.
All works great. Thanks
do I need to be root to make the upgrade?
I don't have rooted my bs2 and I can't access to the directory that you mention to store the update.zip file.
How much time is going to take the the phone download the upgrade automatically from the network.... I want to upgrade because I having problems with the mic is muted into the call when I plug or unplug a headphone or connect or disconect a bluetooth headphone....or if I change the audio source in any way the mic stop working and the person in the other side of the call can't hear me anymore.....
so please any sugestion to make the upgrade without root.....or how much to wait for the upgrade....
I don't want to root my phone....
You posted a thread previously where we can downgrade to Android 9. We can downgrade from this version also or need to go to MQ0 first?

Where is the setting to disable dual open application? I can't update to MP6. It shows some chinese words and Google translate says disable dual open application in setting but I can't find it. Can't post picture since it says need 10 post. Ok I decided to reset my phone, now the update succeeds. But new problem the update stuck at 0%. Tried waiting and restart but still always 0%. Nvm now it's working.
Overall, How is the update??
Is it better than Android 9??

reporting.....I upgraded the phone and I have to report that all was ok, and yes the problem with the mic muted was fixed with this.... so I am happy with that....
The only thing that I would like is that the developers include the option to record the calls native.... I had this feature in my last xiaomi note, and I really miss it.... maybe is the only thing in the software that I don't like.... In hardware what I hate is the fact that don't have a 3.5mm audio output (I think that is a very bad decision in a GAMER phone)... I use the adapter with my headphones but is sad because I can't charge the phone or made a capture with hdmi because I using the port for the audio...

thanks to batuken for the help....in fact you can create manually a ota directory in the memory of the phone and then use de code to enter to upgrade menu (I use the steps of this link ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/black-shark-2/how-to/ota-update-a10-joyui-11-cn-version-t4039643 ) ... need to be patient i take about 10 mins or more all the upgrade .....sometimes take a lot of seconds in one determinated percent (like is freeze)...but just wait and let the phone upgrade ..... the first reboot after the update take a lot of time too....
best regards
Alex
