I am rooted and on stock 4.3. I am trying to flash cwm 6.0.4.3 via odin3 and am getting FAIL!. Any pointers? Is this due to the locked bootloader?

Yes.
Yeah your pretty much stuck. I think there is a root method that works, but you don't get a unlocked boot... So no custom recovery or ROM.

My Atrix will not boot into Android Recovery mode. It says "Entering into Android Recovery..." then gives me the Android with the caution sign. I rooted my device, then used ROM manager about a week ago to flash CWM. I then unlocked the bootloader, which reset my phone's data. Before I unlocked the bootloader I had the same problem, and figured the bootloader wass the problem. ow that it's unlocked I still can't boot into it. I'm running 2.3.4 on the device, the stock model.

When I unlocked my bootloader it wiped everything, including Superuser. I'm assuming I have to reroot it to flash it successfully?

I'm on the stock leaked ROM & kernel. I hear that Philz kernel has some added functionality but dodgy with nandroid backups. Can anyone confirm this? Are there any other kernels yet which are better for this?

apart from 'Philz' kernel no other Custom kernels will wrk with Stock JB leak ma8
OK thanks for that. Guess I'll have to wait. I really want to be able to do a nandroid backup in case things screw up and I have to spend ages restoring everything.
I never had problem with backups on Philz kernel. At least for me to do backup and restore working well.
Can't seem to install this! Just tried flashing the latest - PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSJ-OXX-3.70 - using Mobile Odin. It just reboots the phone and the kernel isn't flashed. Tried it twice with/without the md5 tag but didn't work either time. What am I doing wrong?

Is your phone rooted properly in order to use mobile odin. Else flash the philz .tar.md5 in download mode via odin.

Well, it's rooted - not sure about properly. I flashed a file (posted on XDA) which rooted it after flashing the ROM. Everything appears to be rooted - Superuser, Busybox, etc
Problem is I can't use Odin cause I'm on a Mac so I have to use the mobile version.

Your rooted for sure, i also flash that update.zip on recovery, but the thing is you cant flash a kernel via mobileodin.. i dont have an experience of flashing fw,kernel on M .O,but i read somewhere many users experiencing issues when using that, thats why i prefer windows odin. im not saying dont use M.O.. but if you want a guaranteed flashing just used odin for windows.

OK cheers.
Just out of interest I just booted into recovery <3e> and I get an error message in red at the bottom:
"E:Failed to seek in /cache/update.zip )invalid argument)
E:signature verification failed"
I'm confused. Does this refer to the root "update.zip" or to the kernel which didn't flash?

What does mobile odin says when you flash the kernel lately?and did you rename this
http://download.chainfire.eu/267/SuperSU/CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip?retrieve_file=1 to update.zip? Before you flash as an update in external storage?

Yes, I renamed it "update.zip" before moving it to the ex SD and flashing it.
When I try and flash Philz kernel, it selects OK in Mobile Odin but when I press "flash" the phone just reboots normally, not into recovery and the kernel isn't flashed.

You have to unlock the bootloader before flashing a custom recovery. I did exactly what you are asking and got the yellow triangle warning. I had to install a stock image to clear it out.
Using the unlock method by Adam Outler TWRP recovery is installed.

Once you use Adams method in unlocking the bootloader you should still have your stock rooted rom. If you don't like twrp as you're recovery just download rom manager and you can flash cwmr from there.

So, I updated to 4.3 using the newest method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2504408
However,
I kept root and everything works fantastic and removed KNOX. But...
I cant seem to flash any custom recovery. I tried Unistalling-Re-Installing SafeStrap (No Avail) When I hit reboot recovery it reboots into ODIN Download mode! I have no idea why.
I tried using Goo Manager and flashing TWRP. It says successful but again, when I rebooted into recovery (even using the button press method,. I still am sent to the ODIN download mode. What did I do wrong?
I tried the Loki Method but it says aboot version different or something.
I dont want to do anything to lose root access can anyone tell me how they got a custom recovery on 4.3 ota?

First: Wrong Forum
Second: Having root doesn't mean you can have a custom recovery.
There is no custom recovery. Safestrap isn't compatible...... yet. And the bootloader is locked.
Sent from my NCC 1701 using Tapatalk 4
Only MDK will allow a custom recovery or an unlocked bootloader. Once you went to MJ7 with the OTA, these are both gone.
can someone move my post to appropriate forum?
the above 2 are correct. there is no recovery available for 4.3. all we have is the ability to keep root.
Share with us a screen shot of your phone.. When you boot into Odin does it say 0x0 or 0x1

If you want CWM why cant you just install ROM manager and install CMW from there? CWM should install and replace TWRP with CWM.
Edit: and if that doesn't work I posted a link to MDK stock restore method in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49349378 Hope this helps.

If you have an MDK version with custom recovery and 4.3 installed then yes it will bring it back to MDK stock unrooted wiped. I've used it a couple times to get a clean start and rerooted.
Here's the same link to stock restore http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=237
