thats correct, you need your particular tar file for odin, probably the full wipe so you can start over

If you want CWM why cant you just install ROM manager and install CMW from there? CWM should install and replace TWRP with CWM.
Edit: and if that doesn't work I posted a link to MDK stock restore method in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49349378 Hope this helps.

If you have an MDK version with custom recovery and 4.3 installed then yes it will bring it back to MDK stock unrooted wiped. I've used it a couple times to get a clean start and rerooted.
Here's the same link to stock restore http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=237

Yes your basically flashing stock firmware via Odin and bringing your device back to MDK the way it was when you bought it. It wipes everything.

You can't install CWM through ROM manager? It should override TWRP.

Hi, I want to know how can I remove CWM recovery before I install it if I need warranty services. I searched the forums but haven't found anything about Optimus One. Can you please help me?
If you flash stock rom with kdz or lgdmp you will have a stock phone again without cwm or any other recovery.

And recovery is attached below...didnt tested it though..

For rom, just make a backup with your new recovery and copy it to a safe place on your pc.

it is there but it does not have options like clockworkmod.... it is through recovery only that phone gets factory data reset...
basically, my phone won't boot up normally. instead I have to enter recovery and flash a rom.
On TeamCooper Omega romv2 and wondering what was quicket way to get to unrooted status so I can get it compared? I was thinking Cm7, to stock Gingerbread and then unroot?
reflash stock rom. to make sure, reset to factory setting.
reflash stock rom with odin
if thats what u mean
and i think its unroot.zip file in sticky guide in development section
If your motive for unrooting is to get your phone to service centre, you also should flash stock recovery -- also available somewhere in development section.

No, I meant flashing stock using ODIN. You don't need to have recovery or a custom rom, just access to download mode.
If you flash stock rom with odin, your mobile will be back to the state it was when you bought it... no root access and no custom recovery
Hi All
I flashed my S3 with odin leaked 4.2.1 jelly bean stock rom. The found out tthat Message force closes. Then i tried to flash back to the latest british BTU 4.1.2 rom with odin, everything went well and afterflash on odin it said passed. but my phone just kept rebooting or looping on the samsung logo. I then flashed it back to the leaked 4.2.1 rom, but now i cant sms. What can i do to get sms, or is it possible to flash back from 4.2.1 to 4.1.2? Must i now wait for the official release where the message(sms) force close is fixed. Please help!!!!!.

He's right. Always consider a data wipe when going to another revision. There are millions of backup utilities to conserve apps, data, texts, etc.

Yes it's save.
Make a backup before.
When finished do a full wipe and your ready to go.

And what backup should I do? If I flash with odin the custom recovery will be wiped and in case of a bootloop,i won't be able to restore using the backup.
Wipe using custom recovery, and right after go to download mode and do the job right? That's the way? Im just scared not to mess things up :/

Soooooo, let me tell you whats going on I rooted my phone (Worked fine)..... Then I went to install Hotspot (Failed) And my phone was stuck on the Sprint screen. So I tried to throw a rom on it and it (failed). Now I'm trying to use Odin to go back to Stock and I'm getting "MD5 hash value is invalid" I need HELP!!!!! lol
Check the MD5 of whatever tar you are trying to flash. Josh's MI5 has a MD5 posted so you can check to make sure the d/l went through properly. Alternatively, you might want to flash the latest version of TWRP in Odin and immediately boot into recovery before the phone reboots

You can get into TWRP w/o a problem? If so, what happens when you try to flash a rom or restore a backup?

When I try to flash a rom it fails
So you can get into download mode and you can get into TWRP but when you try to flash a MI3/MI5 tar in Odin it will not go through...and you are sure that the tar files are not corrupt?
And the rom zips are definitely not corrupt that you are flashing in TWRP?
I would say that if you can access TWRP and still get into Download mode you are not bricked. I would PM Josh or Freeza and ask them for advice.

I would ODIN TWRP again and uncheck auto reboot. Then manually boot into twrp and try flashing a rom again or restoring a backup.
You need to have a rom or a nand on your internal or external storage. Flash twrp via Odin and immediately go into recovery and flash the new rom or nand. That will get you back and running. Remember, after you flash twrp you need to hold the vol up/power/home buttons as soon as you hear the disconnect sound on your pc. Good Luck!
