So my friend was trying to fix the wifi on his Note while on Sky Rom (4.3), but, for some reason he happened to have clicked a link to the wrong section and was in the n7100 (international) section. He used Odin to flash the MJ5 bootloader which is the international version. Now his phone will only bootloop with the N7100 boot screen appearing. We are not able to access recovery but we can get to download mode. Once we got to download mode I have tried flashing the PIT file, root66, and the official VRAMC3. Each attempt without a PIT file causes this

I went through this last month and check these things:
- Try a different USB cord
- Try a different USB port
- Disable your antivirus
- May have to reboot your computer
When I softbricked a few weeks ago I went through this process for the first time, and I found I had to keep trying over and over but it finally ended up working.
Remember to unlock your bootloader after this process - which I did not and had to redo everything after rooting and flashing and getting the Verizon discovered unauthorized software etc.
Also, I wonder if this is part of the issue, while in download mode I get "PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7100" instead of sch-i605, could this be part of the issue?
And thanks for the ideas Darbylonia, I tried those and even different computers and still no luck.

Did you try looking through the top stickied post about how to recover from a soft brick? I would go there and see if the info helps and post there. I do think it is strange about the product name but there's got to be a fix so keep on...

Ok so after looking everywhere for a solution and screaming like a mad man in the process i decided to make a thread here and see if someone can help me.
I was running the leaked Android 4.0.3 (got the files from software2tech.com/2012/01/26/complete-guide-update-android-4-0-3-i9100xxlp6-for-samsung-galaxy-s2-video/) and i was running fine. Now i decided to root my phone using software2tech.com/2012/01/27/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s2-android-ics-4-0-3-i9100xxlp6/#more-16920
When Odin restarted my Phone all i got was that yellow triangle and i wasn't able to do anything at all but go into download mode (recovery mode is not working) so i thought i could just flash the 4.0.3 Android again and it will all be fine right?....WRONG. Got an error in Odin and after that my phone just said "Firmware Upgrade encountered an error. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again". Tried it but Kies is not recognizing my phone (neither on the "Firmware upgrade error" screen nor in download mode).
Tried Pistachios Recovery guide but the recovery is not working...i can flash the kernel (which sends me back to the yellow triange) but when i try to flash the recovery files or the bootloader i just get more errors. Also read that flashing a stock kernel could be able to fix a problem like this but how am i supposed to find out what my kernel version is, and choose the right one for my phone if i can't start my phone?
Edit: Ok so here are the errors i get when i try to flash

Hi there,
it's matteios1984 first of all i'd like to say hello to the comunity and thank you all for interesting post about Android!
I'm here to asking help about a tricky case. I've a Samsung Galaxy S3 (i9300) bricked. In other words the phone behaves as follow:
- If i try to turn on the device it remains stuck on Samsung S3 logo
- No possible to boot in recovery mode
- When I connect it to the charger it's stucked showing the battery image and not showing any progress about charging status
- The device is still able to boot in download mode both with buttons combo and with resistor trick, but Odin is not able to flash anything on the device (my idea is to flash a Customer Recovery, perform a full wipe of the device and after restore original italian firmware)
Here following a log taken from Odin:

I've heard about the possibility to boot the device by a MicroSD card that allows me to flash the device... Do you think this will fix my issue? Or do I need a box? If so, any suggestion about the model is appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your support
Try downgrading the bootloader to BLFB before flashing firmware or pit.
hi guys..

I tried the Odlin3 approach for full wipe (with 3.09, 3.07, 3.10 version) but I get a fail as posted below. I'm completely stuck. I tried using Kies approach posted on another tread and the approach on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751461. Both approaches failed. I've downloaded about 20GB of firmware and each fails. When I just try to power on the device it shows the SAMSUNG name and the "Unlocked" icon. Any suggestions?

Hello XDA,
I did brick my phone by trying to downgrade to 5.0.2 from 5.1.1 and bricked my phone and searching this forum I felt that there should be a post like this to ease the journey of people like me. As I did learn a lot from my 5 years android journey, I would like help everybody like me. Therefore if I find any important/"you may not know" fixes, I will share here with headings. Also If you have another solutions for any problems of these kind; please write here so I can collect em' all in the OP. Let's go!
-ODIN fail while flashing hidden.img-
Solution: This is caused because of your partition(pit). In XDA, you can find .pit files of S6 Edge for several models (i.e. I have a g925f so i have to find the corresponding pit file. The one worked for me was the G925F pit with Hidden_300M. First you flash this pit to your phone, then try to flash your rom; you're good to go!
Solution 2 Thanks to @Alex-V : Just delete the hidden.img from the rom.
---------------------------------------------------------------
-If you can't properly enter to recovery mode-
Solution: Please do the combo "Volume Down-Home-Power" until you reach download mode. When you reach there again do the same combo until the screen goes off. When it goes off QUICKLY switch to "Volume Up-Home-Power" combo and hold it until the screen comes in and dims a bit. When it dims release all buttons and ta-da you're in recovery mode.
---------------------------------------------------------------
-ODIN gives a fail at NAND write-
Solution: This problem is caused because of the nand mismatches (generally, or build differences etc.). Doing this may cause a hard-brick IF YOU DON'T follow the instructions CAREFULLY.
1) Get your device to download mode by using this combo "VolumeDown-Home-Power"
2) Open an UP TO DATE ODIN.
3) Find the corresponding .PIT file for your S6 EDGE.
4) Find the corresponding stock rom for your S6 EDGE.
5) Then put them into odin CORRECTLY. Rom to "AP", .pit to PIT
6) Make Sure these are checked: "Re-partition","NAND all erase"
7) Plug your device in and then press start.
After these you should be already flashed correctly without any nand write fail.
---------------------------------------------------------------
-SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE: 2 BINARY:1-
This happens when you try to downgrade from 5.1.1... Thanks to Samsung, we can not downgrade to repair our phones or save them because of the locked bootloader. So you have to flash to 5.1.1 again.
If anyone with a working rooted phone, can he/she share his/her own nand backup, so people with screwed boots can recover
or simple delete the hidden.img
Added to the post, thanks mate. Also looking for how to fix corrupted sdcard (theres no mmcblk0x file)

I am trying to fix a S6 edge. The problem is that when i boot it up it shows me "an error has occurred while updating the device software"
Odin, newest version, does not see the phone. I have searched around and downloaded the G9250ZTU2COKB_G9250ZZT2COKB_BRI firmware for my SM-G9250 and trying to flash it with Odin 3.10.7
It starts but soon after starting it shows me the following error. Any help please? I have searched and found a thread where it says that i need to remove the hidden image from the file but there is no hidden image in it after extracting the tar file.
TIA

try flashing the XEU or BTU firmware.

DON'T do this ^ - your 9250 is a different hardware variant to the 925F/I/T etc models and if you flash a non-9250 firmware you'll likely end up with a paperweight.
Anyone else with any ideas?
