Was it normal for the Nokia Lumia 925 to get hot when playing games?

Off course, when the cpu works at full load heat will build up and the device will feel hot(ter).

Many thanks on your feedback....

Optimus finally may have flash

www.mobilecrunch.com/2011/06/01/qualcomm-adobe-optimize-flash-for-snapdragon-powered-android-phones/
Saw this article today that indicates qualcomm is working with adobe to bring flash to the msm7x27 chipset.
Awesome

Pretty interesting news
but will the 800mhz thingy be the thing that limits us?

Overclocking may be a solution?
These are really great news. I hope we will get flash as soon as possible. Let's see how these things will go.

Sounds like it may be hardware accelerated. Hopefully it is because my nook with an a8 CPU at 1.2ghz has issues playing 480p flash videos without hardware acceleration. Would imagine my optimus overclocked at 806mhz would have issues with 360p flash videos without hardware acceleration.
Good news but how will we get 800mhz on O1???It should be possible bcoz if not how Sam Ace & Gio are running on that speed!!!

You probably will not. 768MHz is completely stable here though, anything above that => not good.

Well, sometime you can get 800MHz. But overclocking is strange device dependent. So, somebody have 768 very stable you, but somebody can have 800 and somebody have some problems also on 710 like me for example.
I believe the ARM1176 processor is designed to 800 MHz for my LG Optimus V.
Not sure that everyone else is running the same processor, but I think there are two speeds for the ARM v.6, all flavors, which is 800 MHz and 1GHz. The cell manufacturers lower the speed to conserve power and I'm certain buy the less expensive 800 MHz version.
So everyones CPU should be 800 MHz capable...that does not mean that the memory I/O can take a similar speed up - I don't know exactly what is being sped up with the CPU overclock, but the CPU itself shouldn't have any issues. If it is the system clock, then the I/O is already being timed appropriately and a speed up is overclock for it, but 800 MHz is not an overclock for the CPU.
Good news people let's wait and see...
Nice! I have been waiting for this from long time ago.

it is possible but for most peoples ROM anything past 787 will give a kernel error and reboot the phone the only ROMi got it to work on was Megatron ROM
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App running miks CM7, quadrant 2100, over clocked at 787
On Spica Max Neocore output was 7 fps and on o1 its 63 fps currently.
Even than I could play games like ninjump and mx moto.
So what difference would be there in performance even if we can clock till 768-787 and not 806.
Will the flash not run because our clock speed is 787 and not 800?
I hope people are getting what I am asking. When our o1 can handle things like Neocore 63 fps, 1gb ext partition, multi format video playback, then why would it be difficult to run flash on 787 instead of 800 even when flash would be optimized for our kind of processors?

Awesome news. Hope we get it soon.
More or less flash should work on or device even at 600mhz, the real issue is to optimize it for our chip set instructions.

I hope so i wonder if our Froyo(O1lg) kernel source varies greatly with Ace's kernel code ...SoC chipset is the same msm7227 for other devices code wud vary but the vga and other arm(assembly) code must be the same..If any kernel developers cud please look into it

Exactly. And even if there was a way to run flash on O1, I wouldn't bother with it myself. It would only slow down the phone and kill the battery life in two seconds.. I really, really don't understand what the big deal about this is. Low-budget phone, no flash. End of discussion lol.

[Q] Will FIFA 12 work on my galaxy ace?

I have
CyanogenMod 7.2 KANG latest version
min 480 mhz
max 806 mhz
so can i run it? please reply to me
If u like laggy football..you can try...mostly it wont work...if it will..it will lag...
There are a few ports that make it faster....GIYF
I run it smooth on 480-806MHz with Chainfire 3d and nividia drivers
(I know that chainfire 3d is for 1GHz phones but it improves my gaming performance anyway!)
can i?

[Q] WP8 on Titan?

Are there any glaring reasons that will make it impossible to cook a WP 8 ROM for the Titan? Might we someday expect DFT to conquer this?

I think it's a (little) too early to ask!!
I think any processes that utilize the dual core processor will be the problem with having WP8 on our phone. I'm sure other features that don't utilize the hardware will be included in 7.8, and those that can be ported will hopefully work as well.
No one says WP8 phones HAS to be dual core. The new desktop OS based core is flexible enough to support various hardware configurations and there should not be any impact on software.
who knows.. Through custom roms, we may be able to port wp8, let's wait until it ripens.
I think the biggest hurdle is the fact that WP8 is encrypted at the hardware level, thus getting a kitchen to work with in the first place is going to require some serious hacking, luck and most importantly: funds.
Dual core

Wait, let me see:
Windows Phone 7 (NoDo / Mango / Tango) = Snapdragon S2 (single core: 800 Mhz till 1500 Mhz, mostly 1000 Mhz*)
Windows Phone 8 (Apollo / Unknown) = Snapdragon S4 (dual core: 1500 till 1700 Mhz, mostly 1500 Mhz*)
This is a fact
*Mhz is megaherz, 1000 Mhz = 1 Ghz (gigaherz)

Yeah, and Windows 8 "requires" at least a 1.0GHz single core, but I have personally installed it on my 800MHz HTC Shift.
If desktop 8 can run on single core, so can WP8. They share the same kernel. Those "requirements" are manufacturer guidelines, they mean nothing.
the main problem are the drivers....i think only htc can write new drivers for new kernel
Lets just wait and see.. Htc magician/o2 mini was able to run Wm6.1,despite that no drivers were officially released . Same as htc hd2 which was able to run wp7. Maybe our titan can run wp8,hopefully..

Mostly because those wp7 drivers were leaked, the HD2 was a development phone. So if HTC used the titan for WP8 testing and if those test drivers are leaked or a group like DFT gets them then yes we might see WP8, but i doubt it.

[Q] possible to underclock 920?

as thread title, is it possible to under clock the 920, or any windows phone for that matter.
ive noticed the top of mine by the camera gets very warm with intensive cpu tasks, since my previous 1ghz single core wp device was still very smooth it made me wonder if it would be possible to run the 920 at 1gz?
I'd like to know this as well.

Screen Res -
*Amaze - 540 x 960 pixels *Lumia -480 x 800 pixels
GPU
*Amaze - Adreno 220 *Lumia - Adreno 225
Secondary Camera -
*Amaze - 2 MP *Lumia - 1.2MP
These are major difference. But IF you comparing Android OS to Windows,i would recommend Android.I've used both OS.Windows is great, but not highly customizable like Android.Lumia wants a Lumia phone to send files via Bluetooth. It can't send to any others. Also Windows need Zone software to transfer files between PC & Winows phone!USB Masstorage won't detect if you don't have Zone on your PC.It is like APPLE.But atleast apple has alot of apps & games not like Windows.I recommend you Android. But the choice is yours
Well the thing is I do like androids. I recently just got rid of my unlocked HTC 8S because it moves on 2G speeds with tmobile (terrible) and reverted back to my amaze. I disagree on your point about the USB Mass storage as I have witnessed otherwise. Also when it comes to androids I stopped worrying about customizing as I used to customize the phone everyday as new information was available. I just want the device that is fairly simple and fast that is capable of doing daily tasks such as SMS/MMS Twitter apps Facebook Multiple Email accounts and fast Web surfing and music player. I really like Zune music player esp in comparison to Itunes. I'm not very big on apps as you can see
