Help! My phone is email locked :( - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

My mothers phone is email locked and she does not know her password. It is a sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE. When i press the unlock screen, it would ask for a gmail and password. She does not know her password. The phone is stuck. The only problem with hard resetting the phone is that i need all the information/apps and data that is stored in the phone.
Is there anyway i can bypass or break the code by using a software? The phone has orginal stock recovery and rom. Please help me, any sugggestions would be greatley appreciated.

Not much you can do if she has forgotten her password, particularly since the phone is stock.

If she created a gmail account with a secondary email address, go on gmail and have them email you your password. Create a new password, then use that to log-in on the phone.
Any time I see these posts, I now think of that retard that stole whoever's phone, and was trying to get past their password.

HTC Sense Dashboard & Wireless Printing

This is actually two questions for anyone that might know the answers.
Firstly, if you go to https://www.htcsense.com/us/#dashboard/ and register. I was able to connect to my phone (EVO 4G - with a custom ROM) from this site, make it ring, erase it etc. I can't with my EVO 3D. Am I missing something?
Secondly, if I wanted to print wirelessly, while connected my corporate WiFi network, where can I get or can i get the correct drivers for my printer?
Halp!

HELP, phone stolen, changed gmail password, now cant track

Is there any way to find the location of my phone? It was stolen and I just a dumb ass changed my gmail password right away so the person who stole it couldnt access my email.
Is there any way to track it now since google cant be synced with it??
I didnt install any tracking apps on my phone.......I am running 5.0 Inject Th3ry
Thanks guys I appreciate your help!
did you register for a sense account?
sense online does not work with the thunderbolt yet...
I thought lookout had a way to push the app to your phone to track it?
If you signed up for Verizon's TEC insurance via Asurion, I believe you get a phone finder service with that. Don't know how accurate it is though. www.phoneclaim.com Best of luck!

If all else fails. Call verizon, tell them it's lost. Call back every day to see if they placed any phone calls. If they did, call the numbers they called. Verizon can provide you with that info. Disadvantage of that, is they can use your phone to buy things or make expensive calls. But if you keep an eye on verizon's history, you should be able to control that if it gets out of hand.
One time my phone was stolen and I was able to find the guy that stole it because his dad was one of his recent calls. Turns out papa was very disappointed haha! I got my phone back and he got a beating.
Go to the android market on you pc and install Lookout Plan B on you lost phone. It will track it.

Umm, yes it does. If your running a ROM with it and your signed into HTC Sense. There is an option under the Location settings called Phone finder.
If it is checked you can go to www.htcsense.com, sign in and it will track your phone. I just tried before posting this to make sure.
That sucks but you hopefully had phone finder on

You can't change a Gmail password with a phone. You have to know the old password to change and it has to be done online. They probably factory reset the phone so u won't be able to track it anyway

I think the OP stated he changed the password himself which would then make Plan B no good since it cannot access the market

Just suspend the phone and black the esn so they can't use it. I hope you have insurance

Why don't you change your Google Account password back to what it was previously, then install Plan B from the market website. It will push to your phone so long as it's still trying to sync.

Because stock, it isn't. But, for example, BAMF 3.0 rc4.9 uses it. And it works with the site.

There's a hacked .apk here that will work on stock ROMs (might have to be rooted). You sign up with your device set as a Desire HD. I'm running it on my stock OTA MR2 rooted ROM.

Flashing to Virgin Mobile - Mostly working - Need help!

Hey guys, having a bit of trouble that I'm hoping someone can help out with!
I've managed to flash my 3D over to VM somewhat successfully - I have data working properly, text messaging working, and MMS working, however I have NO calling. Original error is "Your account could not be validated" until I send a text message, then it switches to "Error 16". If I try to call someone again immediately after error 16, I get the original validation error.
I already have the MDN and MSID set to what they should be, which is the most common issue I've seen gone wrong.
If anyone else has any insight, I would very much appreciate it!

Thanks for the link, it looks like it might be the issue, but will it work with it being flashed to VM do you know? The phone was my old phone before I got the LTE, so it's also been deactivated from my account before switching to VM...

can u post the method u used to get it on virgin mobile? a meager search on google resulted in people posting how it was impossible to get on virgin with a sprint phone.

dealing with the same issue here. Have some threads on my flash here but cant seem to get past this error 16.
will call virgin in morning and bs them and tell them i need a refresh on my kyocera jax....really an htc evo 4g
Error 16 is caused by 2 devices using the same ESN, both active for a moment. I have found that if you do an ESN swap to another phone and the back to your flashed ESN, you'll be fine. BUT NEVER EVER HAVE BOTH POWERED ON AT THE SAME TIME (unless you blank the ESN on the donor phone, of course!)

Customer service ota update?

I have been having problems with sending and receiving text messages. Well to be honest I can't at all. I called cs and they wanted me to accept an update. I am rooted so of course I didn't go through with it and I did not let her know I did not go through with it. I just told her it didn't work. My question is should I unroot and go through with the troubleshooting?

did you just root? try this:
Once you reboot, let hands free activation finish. Or go settings-> activate. If it does not complete or something doesn't work, like sms, try making a phone call (not *2 or an 800 number, an actual call. call your mother!) If that does not work, just stay on the line and you should be connected to a Sprint rep that will refresh your phone. then update your profile and prl, in settings -> system updates. (info from the rooting/panda threads)
it sounds like you need a refresh to me. I'm not sure they can force an ota update onto your phone, I think they just re-authorizing your account on the sprint network, but someone else can confirm that before you trust me on it.
if you just did lazy panda s-off, you definitely need to do this now.
good luck man

hard reset without a power button?!?!

i have a htc evo 4g that was given to me. but it had a pattern lock on it. i called my friend that gave it to me and tried to get the pattern from him. but he couldnt remember it either bc after the power button broke on it it got another phone.
is there a program that i can use to hard reset the phone?
So I'm not sure if you are referring to the OG Evo, or the Evo LTE. Either way, the pattern passwords have alternative to unlock them. If you fail about 5-10 times (maybe more...I haven't tested it lately), it will prompt you for your email and password. Ask your friend about his default email, and possibly let him enter the information himself if he wants his info to remain private.
You can always plug it in to a PC that has ADB installed and try rebooting to either the bootloader or recovery. Not sure if that will work with the screen lock on but it's worth a shot.

he has told me he doesnt remember his email or his password. he said he has changed emails multiple times due to being hacked. :/
im downloading sdk and adb on my laptop now. and going to attempt to reset that way.
-edit..
i cant get adb to recognize the phone.. there has to be a way to get this to work.
Go into fastboot, then recovery. Do a factory reset, and flash a ROM.

the button has completely broken off of the mother board. i have the button, which i might have to fix to get anything done im guessing.
If the phone every shuts down completely from lack of battery, how will you turn it on then? Also, I guess repair isn't an option? Eg warranty and repair center.
Can't your friend recover the email account?

Yes I can get the phone to boot up. But nothing pasted the lock screen. I think my only option would be take it to the local phone repair store. And my friend has changed email so many times due to being hacked he can't remember his email when he had the evo.

How do you still get it to boot if it is off/dies?
And by the way, do you have access to a Linux computer? Linux has absolutely no problem recognizing Android (Linux based). Also, I'm not 100% sure if you will get any computer to recognize it via ADB without having USB debugging checked off in Developer Options.

Titanium Backup (ROOT) has a boot to recovery option, that should give you access to adb and/or fastboot.

If it's on the lock screen, can you get it on any wlan? Unsecured that it automatically connects to? If so, you can install apps via your browser in Google play. Given that the Google account on the phone is accessible from the browser.. That could open doors...

That won't work either. To install apps from the browser, the OP will have to be signed in from the former user's email that is registered with the phone. However, the owner no longer remembers which email is linked to the phone.
