From what I know, the ROM you use must support it. Why would you want multiwindow? It pales in comparison with HALO...

Thanks for answering my friennd however, though i think that Halo is a great feature I wish multiwindows functionality because I want to open apps contemporary, also that apps that don't emit a notification (think to vocabulary for example)... there's something like that wonderful feature?

the multiwindow you know from samsung needs touchwiz framework, so not possible to have it
omni based roms have a kind of multiwindow by longpressing an app in recents app drawer, but it's still buggy
with xposed framework and xhalofloatingwindow module you can achieve something similiar by opening 2 halo popups in the same time (see screenshot) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419287
for me this works pretty good, even if it is a bit more complicated than stock multiwindow

[MOD]AOSP enabled navbar - AOSP ROMS and GE only

To be clear, these will only work for AOSP ROMs and the GoogleEdition ROM.
Threw these together for myself. Love having the navbar but it is a pain to add every nightly I flash. So I threw this together. I made two versions. One simply adds the navbar and disables the capacitive menu and back buttons (with them active the navbar becomes nearly impossible to use) and triggers the navbar. Fear not, this mod triggers the in app menu overflow access and for that matter you could then create a menu on the navbar. I couldn't automate disabling the backlight so that will still need to be disabled via settings>advanced>sensors. I also made a version that changes the device DPI from 480 to 360 (my preferred DPI).
Download - AOSP_navbar_enabled.v3.zip
Base version above now allows OTA survival. Will reapply itself after each nightly.
Download - AOSP_navbar_enable_360dpi.zip
Download - AOSP_remove_NAVBAR.v3.zip
Here is the method to inject changed into the build.prop that I used (found here)
On the GoogleEdition ROM it does not support disabling the capacitive button backlights natively so the app from the following thread is needed
[APP] Google Edition ROMs - Disable Button Lights

Of course you are welcome to your opinion!! And in part I agree. That is why I run at 360dpi, that way it has less of an impact on the display. I know it is not for everyone, but choice is the spice of life.

Thanks for this. Is it possible to only activate the in app menu overflow without adding the nav bar? It's so much more intuitive to have that, rather than guessing whether or not the menu button will do anything within each app (the whole reason google got rid of the menu button in the first place).
I wish I knew how!! To be frank, when you enable the navbar and disable the capacitive buttons it activates the menu overflow within apps all by itself. Must be part of the navbar framework. But let me look into it. I MIGHT have an idea but it would be ROM specific, not a general mod like this. What ROM are you running or would like such a feature for?

I will try for the GE port, it should be an easy mod. These don't work on stock touchwiz as it doesn't have the needed framework for the navbar. For some reason Samsung gutted the navbar from their source

Oh it works very nice, but there are some cases (like tapatalk) where the menu would instead be within the navbar so this is not a capacitive menu replacement

[MOD][XPOSED][4.2+] XLockSecuritySlide: Lockscreen: Slide + security

Hi xda-community,
I would like to share my first (and extremly simple ) Xposed module with you.
This module allows you to slide before you have to draw/type in your security pattern/pin/whatever. It is particularly useful if you use CyanogenMod (or other ROMs, that allow App shortcuts in lockscreens) and want to use both shortcuts AND a security pattern/pin/whatever. It works similiar to HTC's Sense UI (3.x).
ROMs modified by manufacturers are known to have issues with this module (see below).
Code:
You install and use this module at your own risk!
I am not responsible for any damage it might cause to your beloved device!
Please note, that there is a sad bug present by using App shortcuts (in CM etc.) in lockscreen, which decreases the usability: You have to "unlock" your device with your pattern/pin/whatever twice. If you just unlock you don't have to do it twice. Therefore I rate this module as alpha. I would be very happy if someone has a solution to this problem .
Supported ROMs
TESTED and CONFIRMED WORKING:
AOSP:
- 4.3 (JellyBean)
- 4.4 (KitKat)
AOSP based:
- CM 10.2 (JellyBean 4.3)
Stock/OEM ROMs:
- Asus: 4.2 (JellyBean)
- Sony Xperia: 4.2 (JellyBean) - 4.4 (KitKat)
Should work on:
- 4.2+ (JellyBean) (lockscreen has been overhauled in 4.2, therefore no <= 4.1)
- 4.4 (KitKat)
- all AOSP based ROMs (CM, AOKP, Para, etc.) with Android 4.2+
Unsupported/problematic ROMs
ROMs modified by manufacturers are known to have issues with this module:
Samsung (TouchWiz):
- 4.2/4.3: simply does not work
- 4.4: has less issues, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51980630&postcount=52
Credits
@rovo89 Your framework is amazing!
Known bugs
- Using app shortcuts causes you to "unlock" your device twice (see above)
- App shortcut to browser does not work (needs confirmation..)
How to use
1. Install Xposed framework as described here
2. Download and install XLockSecuritySlide via Xposed Installer (or see below)
3. Enable XLockSecuritySlide in Xposed Installer
4. Reboot and enjoy!
HELP ME!
If something went wrong (e. g. unlockable device) you can use the flashable Xposed recovery disabler ZIP (see attachment of that post!), which disables Xposed and therefore this module. After that you can safely disable/uninstall this module and re-enable Xposed again!

Well thats really sad... The problem is, that I do not have a Samsung device to test it out. Moreover it requires some work because TW is closed source. I will look at this, if I have enough time!
@Stevolk bro It is working fine:good: in my Xperia ZR running Stock 4.3 Jelly bean. but there is a small bug . The Xperia swipe screen is fine, but the pattern screen becomes black, I approximately need to draw the pattern in order to unlock the screen. But when I enable AOSP lockscreen using GEM Xposed module, both AOSP lock screen & pattern lockscreen is working fine :victory:. Thanks for you work. Screens attached for your info
Sorry for my bad English:angel:
Omg, thanks you so much , finaly someone made it, was missing this feature since gb !

Great module, works as expected on my HTC One X+ with CM11 android 4.4.2 but after switching to an other security while the module was active (from password to pin in my case) the phone soft rebooted upon sliding the slider again.

Hm.. it seems, that my module isn't compatible with OEM customized lockscreens, TouchWiz does also have issues. I updated the first post with this information.
If I have time, I'll have a look but it has low priority.

I was annoyed, that no module existed with this functionality so I made one myself The only thing that isn't working correctly (except from compatibility with non-AOSP lockscreens like TouchWiz) is the double answering of security method if you use app shortcuts.

Hm.. that is strange. I cannot reproduce this in AOSP 4.4.2 so far. Does it soft-reboot only one time after you switched the method or multiple times? Could you attach a logcat maybe?

Any Android version below 4.2 is not supported because the lockscreen code has been heavily restructured in 4.2

I can only guess that's because Asus didn't make a lot of customizations to the vanilla Android -- some, but not much... For example, TouchWiz or Sense are way more heavily customized in every aspect. I can say that other Xposed modules that are originally designed for AOSP ROMs actually work much better on my Asus tablet than on other devices, like Samsung or LG (I am talking about stock ROMs).
Okay..big bug spotted
After swiping to get the pin/password/whatever if you hit the back button the security screen just disappears and the device is unlocked making the lock actually useless as it gets bypassed..
Can anyone else confirm this?

On my tablet, the on-screen Back button doesn't activate until the device is actually unlocked, so, no bug for me (can't bypass the lock screen). Could be different with hardware nav buttons...
Okay so apparently only the people with hardware buttons may see this happen

[Q] Lockscreen toggle KitKat

Do you guys know of any (notification) toggle to quickly disable/enable lockscreen? In the notification panel Android unfortunately doesn't seem to have such a toggle build in. With the previous build, Jelly Bean, some widgets from the Play Store seemed to work, but not anymore.
And perhaps someone knows a good app/mod to put back shortcuts on the lockscreen itself as well?
Thanks in advance!
Dennis
Anyone?
Really no one else is having the same needs for a lockscreen toggle in KitKat?

Thanks very much, but what does it exactly do? Regarding the lockscreen, the developer says a few things:
- Lockscreen targets
- Lockscreen tweaks, regarding theming.
- Lockscreen rotation
It does not say anything about a "toggle" to switch it easily on or off. It also needs a framework to be installed, and a lot of other tweaks/mods come with the module, that I'm not sure I would like...Plus, I read in that forum, that the lockscreen features are not working.
Anyway, it's 2014, there's not any solution anymore to just have a widget or something for it? Like with previous android versions?

Gravitybox will allow you to add/organize/customize the quicksettings tiles (like the lidroid from the other post), including a lockscreen toggle. There's lots of other tweaks too, but you don't need to use them if don't want. And yes, you'll need to install xposed framework, but it's easy, there's and app for it (xposed installer). If you're interested, search for xposed or gravitybox threads.
But you just want a homescreen widget/toggle, right? Google "no lock widget".

Thanks. I just generally just don't like installing all kinds of extras, even if I don't use them. A policy that kept my hardware running very smooth, where others suffer from sluggishness.
I am more looking for a widget then, yes. The one you mentioned unfortunately doesn't seem to work... I'll keep looking .

[MOD][RESHARE] Working quad window on all kitkat roms.

As many users on a custom rom based on Touchwiz jellybean, we saw the functionality being unavailable on touchwiz kitkat (not removed completely, thanks to @ravijani for the info)
While I myself didn't like the quad window on a screen of this size, many users wanted it.
As I was trying to search, many informed me of multiwindow plus by @xperiacle to obtain the functionality.
Many users didn't know how to use the functionality though, and wanted it natively.
XDA user @unclefab from the galaxy mega community managed to get this functionality working on kitkat base, and for all roms, and with his proper permission, I am sharing his mod here.

FYI kikat deleted floating window not quad window means pen window directly from multiwindow ssidebar.. while quad was there from begining.
on <5.5 inch screen quad window is useless thats why removed from dn3.
also xperiacle added app long ago for this called multiwindow plus If i m not wrong for this.

Yes there is that app.. multi window plus but many users wanted it natively just the way it was in DN3 v3.2 (4.3 JB)
And I remember Arsaw saying once that samsung put many codes to stop quad multiwindow from running so we had no luck with that.
But it's good that we got it running just with a single permissions file.
And @KNIGHT97
We only require a sigle file from the original thread
"com.sec.feature.multiwindow.quadview.xml"
The other two are already there in mostly all roms.

I am one of those who wanted Quad-Multiwindow and Floating-Window natively available as seen on DN3 up to v3.2.1.
Now, to clarify the KitKat 4.4.2 situation and DN3 v5.2 latest release up to toady:
1) Quad-Multiwindow is the feature that doubles the frames of the original Samsung Dual-Multiwindow.
From Multiwindow bar you tap an app and swipe it to the desktop.
Repeat this action 3 times and you get 4 apps in single frame each.
This is possible by installing Multiwindow Plus by Xperiacle.
In DN3 4.3 JellyBean versions it is natively in.
2) Floating-Window is the feature that runs apps in a independent freely positionable and resizable window.
It is the same result to launch the app in a window through Air Command Pen Window feature (longer and tedoious actions though).
From Multiwindow bar you tap an app and automatically it opens in a window on the desktop.
In DN3 4.3 JellyBean versions it is natively in, even if some cosmetic issues were in when the window was minimized.
In DN3 4.4.2 KitKat verisons this feature is no longer available. You get the goal only through AIr Command Pen Window feature and with no
cosmetic issues when window is minimized (bravo E-Team !)
You may install Pen Window Manager by Xperiacle. But it is not the same thing.
Once you set an app to open in a window, it will always open in a window.
So my question now is: Floating-Pen Window will be available again also on KitKat DN3 rom?

It's removed by Samsung actually. So cant really say if we can get it working.
Edit: You can use Pen window launcher app which allows you to launch pen window without Spen

OK, i flashed it on my DN3 V5.2 but still i can only see "2" Apps @ the same time (-not 4),........is there something else i need to do to configure it etc?
What about "Floating-Window " is this part of this Zip or do i need to install something more?

Floating window is removed from framework, so can't be enabled again natively except for through an app.
About the quad window, don't know why it didn't work. ..I don't use this mod, so can't comment much about it. I just reshared this.

Nice to see another AOSP based ROM.
2 questions. Does this work using multirom, primary or secondary? And does it force encryption.
No forced encryption. And several people have used primary, I'm using it secondary

Support layer ?

Yes. And any ROM based on marshmallow uses layers. Cm hasn't made theme engine for m yet
Glad to see this is out .
Is there a particular gapps package that should be used?
EDIT: Ended up using the gapps package used with the PureNexus ROM and it seems to have worked just fine.
All feature who mention here is working or in progress also should i flash SU?
[/COLOR]Link not works!
wow nice feature list ! onlly one thing missing, i woulda jumped on this if it was there "Navigation Bar Settings" to edit the nav buttons like moving them and double tapping them to put screen to sleep etc.
thus im still on LP builds Good Job though great feature list.

As of right now, the dt2sleep on the nav is part of the nav bar tweaks, I am sure more features will be added eventually

That is Destiny Dark, can be found here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bitsykolayers.ddarktheme&hl=en
The nav bar is part of the navigate layers theme:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rc.navigate&hl=en
I use the Google Colored 2 nav bar in it, you would also need to delete any nav bar applied by the layer of your choosing in case it applies its own, some do, some don't
First thanks...
Just a heads up..
The link for download in OP does not work on Tapatalk...
PS. I got the download...
